Cormac advised us to treat the cavities with laughing gas only and the procedure could not have gone smoother.

The hygienist diagnosed and…read moretreated me with a $400 Arestin injection BEFORE I was seen by a dentist, which violates NYS law requiring a dentist's prior diagnosis. The cost was excessive (FAIR Health averages $98 per site), and I was not given a breakdown of the treatment after multiple requests via email. Other reviews report similar issues like on Google: overbilling (e.g., $400 for unnecessary antibiotics), lack of dentist involvement, and pressure to buy treatments. I've requested a refund and filed complaints with regulatory agencies. I strongly caution others against visiting this practice.

I've been going to perfect dental for years. Dr Julia has. Please understand that I had spent a…read morefortune on my teeth in the past and take very good care of them. I'm 56, but recently my teeth started to crumble out of nowhere and causing great pain...turns out it caused from a bad gastric surgery gone wrong - all acid and constant vomiting for 2 years The young Asian doctor I think his name is Dr Jerry came in did not say hello went right to my teeth and started saying things like 'oh this is terrible' all these dramatic demonstratives about how bad my teeth were and telling me that I had 17 that were going to need saving by root canals and crowns ... I know about the cost of such things that I said that was not going to be an option he even mentioned that my Teeth were in such bad shape, he mentioned dentures.Twice when I was trying to ask a few simple questions, he literally got up and walked out of the room while I was talking as if he didn't hear me. he never looked me into the eye. He did put in a claim with my insurance and they agreed they would cover three so when I came back to get those taken care of, I wanted to ask about the dentures which he had used as an example to tell me how horrible my teeth were When he finally arrived I asked him just quickly sit down because to inquire about the dentures and he arrogantly said no! Then he denied ever saying dentures he said I never mentioned desaid . Luckily I have it on recording. He said to me condescendingly which is still unbelievable, that maybe I should start ' saving up' need for the mouth full of crowns. Upwards of 30k minimum. I don't know how privileged this doctor was but he had no concept that dental care for lots of people is a privilege and not a right he just couldn't understand why I couldn't afford it. I got up to leave and he had already left the room. I went to the front desk told them I could not deal with and i would like to go to Dr Julia instead . The woman tersely said Dr Julie does not take your insurance so if you have a problem you can go somewhere else. I don't know if this young has social problems or takes too much Adderall but as I come to this site to leave a review I see so many directly about complaints about him. Perfect dental in the past has asked me to go and write reviews when I've had a positive experiences and I have.. But now I'm hoping you'll reach out to me about what happened because sadly I do have video of the whole thing going down at one point I said he was being so dismissive so smug that he is acting like I was a homeless person at a free clinic. I hope to hear back from someone at least. -Bryan Norton

PROS: Very skilled (esp. Dr. Ruby Gelman). Very knowledgeable…read more Office staff are super-nice. Fun magician comes weekly. Nice ceiling TVs & prizes. CONS: Gelman is too emotional. She's at the top of her field, but reasonable questions asked in a reasonable manner can set her off. The best doctors are also best at communicating; welcome basic inquiries. Amazingly, by contrast, Gelman projects her own emotionality onto the parent(s) (e.g., "You have to manage your anxiety!!", when everyone is entirely calm, except her), and can't control herself from snapping -- and once actually physically jerked herself while examining our child. Dentist Dr. Leah Fine is a rude, eye-rolling, paranoid @$%, unfortunately. We're relieved Dr. Fine is now gone from this practice and NYC. Astonished by Fine's behavior ~ no joke: glaring repeatedly at her nice tech helpers, as if to pull them into tacitly disparaging the child's parent. Does Fine really think parents cannot see her eye-rolls & scowls, when standing in the same exam room with her? Leah FIne has a middle-school level demeanor. Utterly juvenile. Zero respect & scant bedside manner. One of us asked Fine a legit question. She stopped treating our child, and said, "Are you secretly recording this conversation?" ...What!? Fine never apologized. We literally showed her our phones. Support staff in the room were mortified with her abuse of power, and it was clear they felt embarrassed and apologetic towards us. They tried to smooth over Leah Fine's abuse by lavishing an extra amount of toys on our child, and many times inquiring when we'd like to schedule next -- understandably almost as if to reassure themselves, too. ...BOTTOM LINE: Skilled dentists, esp. Gelman, who know they're skilled, so they don't self-regulate or communicate respectfully. Particularly when there's any dental uncertainty (e.g., when treating special cases, kids with injuries, or things necessitating parental inquiry, etc.). Surprisingly low self-awareness, emotional maturity, & self-control levels, from the dentists.
