Went in tonight with my husband and 10 year old daughter to shop during our yearly trip to Cape May. While i tried on hats, I told my daughter to pick out a few things for herself. She first tried on a pair of children's flip flops and then a pair of sunglasses from the display directly above the shoes. The counter person loudly and abruptly yelled at her to "stop playing with the glasses". Clearly my child was with me, a paying customer, and we were discussing what she could purchase. I was shocked that a sales person would ever talk to a child that way least alone one with a PAYING CUSTOMER standing directly next to her. Both my husband and I were appalled at her lack of professionalism and blatant disrespect of our child. As a teacher, I know how powerful an adult's words can be to a child. This woman upset my little girl for no reason other than we wanted to buy things in her store. I immediately put my would be purchases back and told her she lost a customer. Her response was "we don't let kids play with our things." Clearly, this woman needs a refresher course on public relations. I gladly took my money elsewhere and highly suggest you do as well. read more
