The ropa vieja was juicy and had a great flavor. I got it with white rice and black beans which were fine. I did also get maduros (yellow fried plantains) which I can never get enough of. The habana sandwich was much better than expected! It was a great option and we got a few since it had a lower price. I love included fries, so everything was a win. Tons of Cuban decor and good music videos playing on TVs. The employees were all very welcoming and nice. I will have to add pics

The Café con Leche was warm, smooth, and the perfect pairing with it. Service was friendly, welcoming, and quick, and the whole place had such a charming personality. I especially loved the ambience--it has that cozy, neighborhood Cuban bakery feel, with a warm and casual atmosphere that makes you want to stay and look around. Great food, great coffee, and such a cute local spot. I'd definitely come back to try more of the pastries and other menu items!

According to Sarah, this one won a Dallas award for best Cuban. - See photo. I have had more than a few Cuban sandwiches in my life, and this one is absolutely top tier. I found the spot on Yelp and we headed over right after a trip to the DMV. We definitely deserved a treat after that. We ordered two sandwiches to split, the shredded beef and the original Cuban. They offer several variations of Cubans..., including one with mortadella that I am already planning to try next time. I will admit, in the review photos the sandwiches might not look pressed or buttered enough. Trust the process. The bread was perfection. I am very particular about grilled sandwiches being truly grilled and fully heated through, and these ladies know exactly what they are doing. The original Cuban was perfectly balanced and a rock solid classic. The shredded beef was - (Meat prep courtesy of Sarah) a delightful surprise, slightly sweet and savory and incredibly flavorful and texture. Just really, really good. We also got a bag of plantain chips, and I respect that those are the only chips they offer. No generic bagged Lays here. Plantain chips or nothin' - I like it!!! There is also a display case full of beautiful baked treats made by Rita. After sandwiches at that level, there was no way we were leaving without dessert. We took three to go: a meringue filled with dulce de leche, which was a total sleeper hit, a guava and cheese pastry, and a dulce Napoleon. Every bite felt special. The inside is authentic and charming, though the tables are a bit tight. I cannot wait to go back.

I was trying to save room for the main course, but there was something so delicious about those unassuming little bites. They were warm, slightly crisp, and completely addictive. We came specifically for the lunch specials, and they did not disappoint. I had my eye on the Piccadilly, a flavorful mix of ground meat with spices, potatoes, and what I believe were raisins and olives. It comes with white rice and black beans, but you can have them mixed together, which is absolutely the way to go. The combination of savory and slightly sweet flavors was fantastic. My only small wish is that it came with a few more sweet plantains on the side. My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich, which comes with a side. We chose fries and iced tea, and they generously brought us BOTH large iced teas. The sandwich itself was huge, easily big enough to take half home. It was perfectly grilled, warm, and melty. If I could change one thing, it would be to make the bread a bit smaller while keeping all that delicious filling. This place is also a great value. Definitely worth stopping by and checking out.

I'll certainly be back Ropa vieja sando - 4/5. Very tasty and rich but too salty. Plantain chips were exquisite. papá rellena - 4/5. perfectly crisp but not too crunchy with fluffy potato and generous filling quantity. I tried both the beef and the poblano cheese. I wish the beef had a bit more spices but it was well salted and the textures were perfect. Poblano cheese was rich but tasty. I was glad I tried it. Café con leche - 5/5. Simple, smooth, fluffy, milky, sweet. guava y queso pastelito - 4/5. I loved the combo of cheese and guava but the flavor felt a little artificial, like a jelly donut. Ube crème brûlée - 2/5. Lovely ube flavor! Unfortunately the texture was off putting, like jello. I don't think I'll be getting this again but will try to salvage the rest by blending it into milk or protein shake. Flan - 5/5. Amazing custardy classic flan with a dark caramel sauce. Full disclosure, I've never tried Cuban flan before. I knew I was taking a gamble buying a $35 party size without trying it first. But my whole family loved it. I highly recommend!
