I felt that the service was rushed. No one introduced themselves so with masks it was tough to tell who the doctor was as she entered behind me through the door. Then I had a root canal and the majority of it was done by a technician. She had a tough time getting the dam off of the tooth and basically just pulled and pulled until it let loose. NO STARS!!!! First of all, you can only get an appointment for regular dental exams every 8-9 months. In the 3 years I was a patient there, I had billing problems on 3 different occasions. The first was in 2023 when I had a $15 co-pay for my insurance. I was billed an extra charge above and beyond my co-pay. When I said that was an over charge, they acted like I was being unreasonable but after complaing the charge was take off my account. About a year later, I had a claim totally denied by my insurance because it was submitted with my last name spelled incorrectly. I was last there in Dec. 2025. I had to have an extra treatment because of a problem that was caused due to my not being able to get my 6-month cleaning done in 6 months. I should have been seen in October and only got the December appointment because I asked to be placed on the cancellation list. It was a move up from my scheduled appointment in January. They are so over-booked that they can't keep up with regular maintenance for their patients. I was quoted a charge of $70 for the extra treatment, which I paid that day before I left the office. At the end of January, I received a statement showing a balance due of $76 and the only description on my statement was that it was for "EOB adjustment". I didn't know what that was so I called the office on 1/27/26, the day I received the statement in my email. I was told someone would call me back. I didn't hear from anyone for a week so I called again on 2/2/26. I was also told then that the person who does the billing is very busy looking up errors. This made me wonder if I was not the only person with billing questions. Finally, on 2/16/16 I received a phone call saying that the charge was an error and that it would be removed from my account. Needless to say, I have found another dentist and I'm hoping for the best. read more

Disappointed! I went for my scheduled cleaning and was refused care because I declined the X-ray. Dr Vu lied and said it was "against her license" to see me if I declined the X-ray. I offered to sign a refusal form stating I was responsible for any negative outcome for declining the X-ray. She still refused to see me. Off to a new practice . . . read more

You should know that it is a huge practice and they are overbooked, and Inflexible. I had to cancel a bi-annual hygiene and routine check up due to illness and the first available appointment was in 9 months. The office also refused to extend the yearly in-house discount plan I purchased to cover the rescheduled visit. Absolutely zero flexibility or personal consideration from the office manager. This rating does not apply to the hygienist and dentist experience was always very good. read more

I started going there several years ago and initially really appreciated the atmosphere and the staff. In more recent times it has become increasingly difficult to get an appointment, and as others have said, a cancellation due to an emergency will often lead to being told you have to wait 6 to 9 months to get rescheduled. This week I was told I "needed" a crown, and that it would be covered by my insurance. I rescheduled to come back in a week for the crown and in the interim the doctor said, let me just shave your tooth down to avoid any minor pain you might have over the next few days. After disfiguring my tooth, they then told me that it would not be covered by my insurance and I would have to pay $1300 for the crown. That's reprehensible to me, since I could've bought a one dollar bottle of antibiotic that would've removed the pain in a week rather than going through this complex procedure. You cannot tell people something is covered when it is not. Nor should you disfigure them if there is even a slight chance the procedure will not be covered read more

Hellertown Dental Group is great! This was my third visit and I was able to schedule both a crown fitting and filling plus by bi-annual cleaning for the same day one after another. Even after they were running behind schedule because the crown took longer than expected, the hygienist stayed into her lunch break to complete my visit. It's really hard for me to find a dentist that I trust and that accepts my insurance and I'm so glad that I was able to find both! I normally see Dr. Hunsicker-Morrisey, but I've heard that Dr. Maria is great from my sisters that see her. The office is always very clean, the staff is always so polite, AND, here's something great, each exam room has a set up so that you can watch TV while you're getting worked on... PLUS you can choose the channel. It's the simple things in life that really count. I drive all the way up from Philadelphia to see these guys and let me tell you, it's worth it. On occasion, I've had to wait; however, this is because the practice is so busy. The dentists are in high-demand and I can't hold it against them! Sometimes it's tricky to schedule appointments, but that's because my schedule revolves around when I can get back to the Lehigh Valley! If you're looking for a new dentist in the area, look no further! read more

Overall worst experience. I went for a clean up about 3 months ago, they told me I was gonna need a deeper clean, to which I agreed. "we'll get you back soon"... Soon was 2 and a half moths later!!! I thought it might be worth the wait. They told me it was going to be 2 appointments one of the upper half and on for the other. I came in for the appointment and they waited for me to be sitting in the chair to tell me.... "i just want to make sure you know that this session is divided by quadrants and your mouths is 4. So is 378 per quadrant not per session". Right there on the spot the just double the price of my treatment. That information would have been useful 2 MONTHS AGO!!!! as a normal person I would have made my budget around it. Is worst than a car sales shop doing bate and switch. "I just want to make sure" is not proper business practice... I obviously still need my treatment but ill be looking for a professional place not this poorly manage circus. The worst part is waiting 3 months for this crap, i cant be more annoyed and disappointed. read more

Don't go there . . . I contacted Hellertown Dental Group to become a new patient. All I can say is don't go there . . . It takes a very long time to get an appointment there. Months despite having such a large staff. Office staff need to take a seminar on how to listen and deal with people politely. Or to put it another way: how to not act like a stereotypes in the workplace or talk down to people. When I went last October during the pandemic, one of the hygienists told me to wait outside. Spoke to me just like a dog. Not, "please." Not, "would you mind waiting for a minute before you come in." Just like a dog: "stay here." I met with Kali Brong who seemed surprised that I did not want any dental work done that day rather just to meet and get an opinion. I called today, 12 May 2021, because I am developing an abscessed tooth and the pain increasing by the hour. No help at all just like other experiences posted about this office. Told to go get the tooth pulled by an oral surgeon and you can see an oral surgeon this week no problem. I can't find an oral surgeon to deal with my dental matter for at least three weeks while the pain is increasing. My experiences with this business is this is what happens to a business when it gets too big or when employees have been there so long they no longer remember how to politely deal with customers . . . Went here for the first time this morning and I was so happy I did. Walking in the staff is so friendly and helpful and the place is super clean. There are flat screen TVs you can watch while you get work done. I have to say it was actually a pleasant experience going to the dentist!! Who would be thought that was even possible!!! Do not go here. They are overpriced and ultimately did not care about me as a patient. If I had to wait any longer, and did not start antibiotics myself, I am concerned my dental abscess would have developed into something much more serious. I went here to have a cavity filled as a new patient and to establish a relationship. Very nice office and staff on first visit. Referred by a colleague who went one time and he a good experience. I was new to the area. After the cavity was filled, I developed what I later found out was an abscess. I was in excruciating pain that developed to significant facial swelling within hours. When I called the office, I was told I would need to wait 1.5 weeks to come in and that this was not a dental emergency. After calling several times speaking to front desk and leaving several messages in one day to try to get across how much pain I was in, I finally received a call back from Dr. Hunsicker at 10PM at night to come in at 8Am the next morning because "She didn't realize I was in that much pain". I had already called several dentists who could get me in within the next 2 days, but wanted to return to see Dr. Hunsicker. She took an x-ray then sent me to the endodontic in Quakertown for a root canal. I was confused as her website says she does root canals. Anyways, I see the endodontist- $1800 up front, and I had repeat x-rays (2 hours after the first) and the tooth drained. Here I incurred several other expenses including a visit to Primary care for the facial swelling/CT scan. Will not elaborate here as it gets pretty complicated BUT: Fast forward to 3 months later, Dr. Hunsicker wanting to do a $1600 crown on my front tooth ( that was priced out by several other dentists as at least $400 cheaper). After discussion with her office about price, and with my dentist growing up about how a permanent filling is a perfectly fine option for me given my unique situation, I opted for the permanent filling for $300. When I had it done, she ground down my tooth so unnecessarily thin you could see right through it, which I caught because I went to the bathroom after I paid my bill but before I left the building. I asked the front desk to speak to the dentist regarding what was done to my tooth. I received what one could perceive as a negative attitude, but ignored it focusing on the problem at hand. I was finally able to speak to the dental assistant who insisted this was present before because my enamel is thin. The only reason I got anywhere is because I had before and after photographs side by side, clearly showing this issue was not present before. Although I do have thin enamel, this was something that was created. Dr. Hunsicker came in, grabbed my face, squeezed my cheeks very hard and stated "Oh yeah I can see that, but that is because your enamel is thin and it was like that. You will need lumineers or veneers," (which cost thousands of dollars). I refused to leave until it was fixed as cosmetically it looked very bad and also explained why I felt I should not have to pay for the extra work. They told me no charge for the extra work and crossed the amount off the bill- I still have it. I received a bill for it a month later. I called to explain I was told I didn't have to pay this the day I was in and it was waived that day. They told me it was from the original procedure. I paid it so I could put this place behind me forever. read more

If I could, I would give this office 0 stars. Both appointments I had at this office were horrible. For the first appointment I sat in the waiting room for an hour past my appointment time before I was called back. For the second appointment, I waited for forty five minutes in the chair before anyone came to examine me. The staff is rude and incompetent; I was told in the first appointment that the work I needed done would be fully completed in a follow up appointment, and upon returning for that appointment I only had one tooth completed and it was on a tooth I was told previously was fine! The hygienist was very rude when I questioned her about this, even after being told that I was signed in as another patient. Apparently wanting to be sure that you aren't having someone else's work done to you is not okay in this office. Both dentists in the practice have incredibly poor patient care strategies. They do not tell you what is happening or what they are doing in your mouth. Additionally, when trying to get my x rays sent to my oral surgeon, I had to call three times and the oral surgeon had to call twice before they were actually sent over. I had hoped that the problems I had in my first appointment were a fluke, but upon returning I realized it wasn't and that this practice is poorly run and staffed. I had selected this dentist after I moved to the area based on its consistently high reviews. I'm baffled as to why anyone would rate this office more than 1 star. read more

I started seeing Dr. Ann back in 2008 or so when we moved to Hellertown, and despite moving out of town, this is still my dental group (though now I see Dr. Maria or Dr. Ann, depending on who's available). Lois is my hygienist and she is incredibly sweet and kind. I have a huge phobia about going to the dentist, and while I'll never say I like going to the dentist, Lois, Dr. Ann and Dr. Maria do their best to put me at ease. I do schedule my regular cleaning appointments well in advance to get the times that work best for me, but I must say that they've been fantastic about fitting me in quickly while working within my work schedule constraints for dental issues. Of course I've waited a bit past my appointment time from time to time, but when it's been me that they've squeezed into the schedule in the past, I guess I'm pretty forgiving, especially since I've never found them to be just rushing me out the door to get back on schedule like some dentists. read more

I LOVE Hellertown Dental Group!!! First of all, I haven't been to a dentist in 6 years because I have an irrational fear of the dentist and cavities. I'm getting married in a month so I finally visited the dentist last Friday and decided to try Hellertown Dental Group. The whole staff and environment could not have been better! The women at the front desk was fantastic and efficient and very friendly. The waiting room was like a hotel. First Dr. Maria personally escorted me to my room, gave me a remote, and let me put on whatever I wanted on my personal TV. Then the dental assistant (Liz) took my x-rays and prepped me because the Dental Hygienist was running behind, and they didn't want to waste any time. Liz was so sweet and made a bunch of suggestions to get my teeth extra white for my wedding day. Then Lindsay (the Hygienist) cleaned my teeth. She worked on them until they were completely spotless! (A big job after 6 years of not going to the dentist.) Then Dr. Maria came in. She was FANTASTIC! She did find 3 cavities, but fixed them in no time at all. I told her about my fear of cavities and she made me feel so calm and comfortable. She told me when to close my eyes so I never even saw the needle, and talked me through it. She also did a great job with the filling! Usually after fillings I have pieces sticking out, but my teeth felt exactly the same after this one.
