While they're known for their finger steaks (google it), we elected to order a few other items and while my wife got a super good sandwich, I got a chili burger and it was exactly what I hoped for. The chili was great, it was a large burger patty and all in all, with the additional "Sidewinder" fries, was a great filling meal after driving and driving and driving and well, driving. For those that look at the photo and wonder just how bad for me that delicious chili burger was, may I just note in my defense that Buster's have a BLT with a full pound of bacon (!!) on the menu. While it was absolutely calling my name, I'd like to think that getting the chili burger was my twisted mind rationalizing that it was healthy...(by comparison at least). Great food, warm and friendly service--saved to bookmarks!

I like Helen's Place because the food is great and the atmosphere is friendly. But there's more to it than that... When I travel, I look for unique, one-of-a-kind restaurants so I can get a feel for the local community. Helen's Place is that type of restaurant. In addition to the restaurant, there's a Sinclair gas station and a convenience store. So needless to say, it's a very popular stop. On any given visit to the restaurant, there could be truckers, ranchers, farmers, DOT crews, hunters, or out-of-towners traveling through. So the conversation could be about fishing, hunting, the weather, road conditions, local events, etc. I'm fortunate to live only 17 miles from Rogerson, so I have breakfast at Helen's Place just about every Sunday. The small town I live in has several restaurants I can literally walk to. But we don't have any like Helen's Place. So I think it's definitely worth the drive. read more
