All we can say is WOW...all the reviews are spot on. The folks here are the nicest. My wife has Celiac, we ordered the Rancher Choice..we shared it and it was more than enough. What impressed us the most was we overheard the owner tell the cook our order was for someone who has celiac, so make sure they clean and scrap the grill before cooking our order. We stopped by here for breakfast on our way back home to Washington. We were immediately welcomed in. Their were a couple of locals sitting at the counter, I knew right away this was going to be one of those hidden little gems and I wasn't disappointed. The server was so nice, my dad had the Buttermilk Biscuits and gravy with eggs, I has the Ranchers Choice, (country sausage, homemade hash-browns, a big thick slice of grilled toast, eggs & what I believe was the best jelly ever) the portions were fit to feed a lumberjack and honestly, the price was very affordable, our bill was less than $25.00. This was a late night visit that turned into an epic experience. We were looking for fine dining but everything was booked. We drove and happen to stop here. They have worn out advertising outside that in no way represents the level of hospitality and home cooked comfort food that lies within. This is better than most greasy options out there for sure. Driving through Idaho, from Nevada to Montana, we stopped at Helen's Cafe based on other reviews to grab a bite to eat. The place is small but cozy. As we walked in it felt as if everyone kind of looked over at us and then went back to what they were doing. We found a small table off to the side. Kat brought us some coffee and made us feel welcome right away. After settling on the steak and eggs for my husband and the Salmon Dam Slam for myself, we noticed two fresh loaves of bread being placed on the counter. This motivated us to move our seats . We grabbed our coffees and moved to the counter. Anita was cooking and straight away started chatting with us, sliced us a hot piece of bread, fresh out of the oven, as a treat with some butter and her homemade strawberry jam. The food was fantastic, the locals kind, and the whole experience was fun. Highly recommend if you like down to earth people and good food! read more

We got stranded with our infant and a cracked rim on our rig. While we waited 3 hours, Cassie let us sit inside, stay warm and was so hospitable. My husband ended up eating while we waited for help and said the burger was delicious, so on top of it all that was a plus. We couldn't be more grateful. However: Awful service, like no cutlery or napkins until we asked for them. A small space and no one is wearing masks. Dingy decor and filthy bathrooms. But it is fun puzzling over why they chose to decorate with what they use. You are greeted by a life-sized Trump and display of Trump hats, stickers, flags, etc. for sale. What a delightful happenstance! My son and I were on our way down to Elko, Nevada from our home in South Central Idaho. There was a massive accident with utility trucks and outer emergency vehicles blocking the road for 4 hours. So we backtracked to Rogerson and found this little restaurant attached to the RV park. What a gem! We had a stunningly delicious prime rib sandwich with caramelized onions and mushrooms, an amazing peanut butter cup milkshake and some really wonderful conversation from some extremely friendly folks...small town USA at its finest! Do not miss this hidden gem. A family cafe hidden behind a gas station - in front of a RV park - attached to a convenience store off hwy 93 just north of Jackpot and just south of Twin Falls, ID. It's not much to look at when you walk in but Anita carries on her mom Helen's 75 year tradition of good old-fashioned cooking with a a friendly familial flare. My husband and I were tired and hungry after a snowy drive up from Ely and this was the perfect stop. We felt at home as soon as Anita told us to find a seat and had hot and fresh coffee in front of us before we had our coats off. Minutes after that we felt like locals chatting with Anita and her other customers. I had the scramble and I nearly licked the plate it was so delicious. It was full of tasty ham, sausage, bacon, veggies, hash browns and eggs and I could actually taste each ingredient. The BEST scramble I've ever had. My husband had the ham omelette which was huge and he was just as happy. And homemade toast and jam? Yes please! Thanks Anita- I'm not sure how or when but we will be back. I literally time my trips from out of town so that I'm in Rogerson at lunch or dinner. Friday is the Prime Rib night and always sold out by 6:30, don't be late. My wife, son and I stop in to eat from a trip to Jarbidge, food was great! I had the chicken fried steak (made from a ribeye )- one of the best and tender chicken fried steaks I have eaten, as well as the gravy that was spot on. I've never had gravy on my hash browns before but just might from now on. My wife had the ranchers special..... that consisted of eggs, sausage, hash browns and their homemade bread (toasted). She says the breakfast was and by far the best sausage she has ever tasted ( after tasting it I agree). Our son had a cheeseburger and fries. He doesn't always finish a meal or want to take home leftovers but he did this time. Everything was homemade and tasted great and not to mention their coffee and service was absolutely outstanding. We travel between Washington and Arizona twice a year on Hwy. 93 and have been looking for a decent lunch spot for a while. Hate stopping in Twin Falls and finally stumbled upon Helen's. Wow! Great homemade burgers, hand-cut fries, onion rings, and cinnamon rolls. I didn't try the real milk shakes but will next time. Friendly family-run business (since 1947 when Helen, the owner's mom, opened it). Don't let the outside appearance deceive you (it's inside the low office/shop at the Sinclair gas station).
