They asked me where do the food trucks normally set up and I explained to them that it's usually beside the leasing office. They thanked me and we both went on our way. I've seen their truck in St. Auggie a few times but I've never eaten from them before, honestly because I wasn't interested it what they served. I was ignorant. Did I even look at their menu? No. Did I make assumptions? Yes and I ate my words. I told my boyfriend about the food truck and he was way more interested than I was, especially during these times when we can't dine in a restaurant. I mentioned that they had bison and lamb and his ears perked up. We let them finish setting up and headed back over to them. I knew that I wanted to try their sambusas as the variety of fillings sounded amazing. We decided on 2 bison and 1 chicken with spinach He wanted to share that and order the Lamb Curry with Rice. We ordered then put 6 feet between us and their order window to give them space. We didn't wait long and we had it in our hands, given and taken at an arms length. We thanked them and we headed back to the apartment. The sambusas are like fried meat patties, like samosas. These were so delicious. The lamb curry was simple with lamb chunks with rice, chickpeas, onions, and carrots. There was some dipping sauce on the side but I didn't use it as the curry was enough for me. A classic food truck bait and switch..though I kept my composure and hoped the food might still justify the cost. After about ten minutes, my order arrived. The disappointment was immediate. The sandwich was remarkably small, barely larger than a sauce cup, and the bread was dry. The so called jerk chicken bore little resemblance to the real thing, and what little protein there was proved equally dry and underwhelming. The dominant flavor came from a generic tomato based sauce, rather than any authentic seasoning. Two bites were enough. The fries offered no redemption: overcooked, greasy, and completely lacking in seasoning. All told, it was one of the most disappointing meals I've had in quite some time.

They specialize is Piri-Piri and Teriyaki dishes. Tony Chong (owner) created his own version of the Piri-Piri sauce which is Chinese/Malaysian/South African inspired. The sauce is a light spice mixture that compliments well into any meat. They also serve Fragrant Rice, which had a sweet light coconut taste into the rice. So I ordered the Piri-Piri Chicken with the Fragrant Rice and it was pretty damn good combo. Additionally, Tony has collaborated with Eggroll Empire to serve Garlic Crab Eggrolls, an eggroll I've never had before; delicious. Aside from the Crab meat inside the Eggroll are Mung Bean Noodles, which reminds me of how some Vietnamese Eggrolls are made. It is served with your choice of a Spicy Sauce or Garlic & Vinegar Sauce. I've tried both sauces and it was basically a 1A and 1B choice in my opinion; me giving the Spicy Sauce a slight nod. The sign was exact to what's posted for this location. When I walk up the menu had wings, hot dogs, burger and fries and I was a little lost because I thought it was Asian food. I asked if they served up the egg rolls and the lady said yea, $3 a piece. I placed my order but after waiting 25 minutes and food still wasn't ready, I bounced. This is more of a for your information. Yesterday, I was going to be in the area so I called the number on the Yelp app. The poor girl picked up and I asked if they were open until 8 and she said this isn't something chicken. Not sure how long this number has been posted and she probably had no idea how to remove it. I already reported it to Yelp. I made the drive anyways and when I got there this truck was not there. It showed that it's claimed so hopefully the owner sees this review and can address if they moved.

story time …read more... OMG!!!!!! I saved the banana pudding as a night snack. I waited til kids was in bed so I wouldn't have to share with anyone . Honey, I took 2 bites, 3 and 4 and before I knew it I only had 3 tablespoons left . So, I stopped eating, closed container and put it away in refrigerator. I sipped on water until my thirst was Quenched. I trashed the water bottle and figured I'd take ONE, only more bite of thē Banana Pudding and leave the other 2 tablespoons for in the morning. needless to say I couldn't stop and I finished all 3 tablespoons . IT WAS DELICIOUS !!!!!! My downfall is sweets sweets sweets and this pudding is dangerous .

My order was taken promptly, and I didn't have a long wait for the food. I ordered the chicken curry lunch special for $10. For my side options i choose rice & peas and cabbage. The rice was mushy, but the cabbage was the best I have had in Jacksonville. The curry chicken was standard. They fit a lot of food in that little container. If I'm in the area, I would stop in again. I wouldn't go out of my way to drive from my home there though.

I wish the chicken in the Doro Wat was cut smaller. Large pieces are difficult to eat without a fork & a knife! And personally, I prefer dark meat over breast for chicken dishes. Lastly, the prices on the menu aren't what rang up on the register when I went to pay. Everything, including the drinks, was $1.50-2.50 more than listed. Not a huge deal, but the correct price should be displayed on the menu. All in all, it's a unique experience to eat with your fingers but, at roughly $70 for two people (one soda & one beer), I wouldn't make this a regular spot.
