The best dentist I had experienced and saved my teeth!…read more I used to visit Dr. Chan when I lived in the Bay Area. Then I moved to Orange County 15 years ago. Having great dental insurance plan with my employment, I visited some renounced and expensive dentists in the OC. Had some bad experiences with cosmetic and substandard services, particularly with unnecessary dental works and the bad margins from the new crowns. Which resulting in bad protection of my tooth and painful reworks. I also became withdrawn from seeing dentist. Over my trip to the Bay Area a couple years ago, I visited Dr. Chan. She patiently explained to me over my dental condition after the X-ray and worked out a plan for recovery etc. That was the time I realized that I was in deep trouble in my Tooth. I started to schedule my appointments with Dr. Chan when I made my business and personal trips to the Bay Area and I am still seeing her nowadays. She saved my teeth! Here is the story: two of my molars were in bad shape after I withdraw from seeing dentist in OC. When I had revisited my OC doctor and another specialist, was advised that both molars need to be extracted. Upon taking the 3rd opinion with Dr. Chan two years ago; found that one of the molars was unable to save but the other one CAN by good clean up and rebuild the root canal. So... she did it! After long hours of FIXING of course. Thank you! Thank you! Next step is the implant for the lost molar. Nowadays,I make my trip from OC to SFO with priority to see my dentist than other businesses. And I can enjoy my food again.

A few days before school started, I had a bad bike accident and fell on my face. As a result, I chipped about half of my two front, upper level, teeth. I was utterly embarrassed and could not imagine going to the first day of school in pain, and with badly chipped teeth. I informed Justin of my incident and he told me to come in immediately. The following morning I went into Justin's office and he fixed me right up. When looking in the mirror for the first time, I was pleasantly surprised to see my teeth looking as good, if not better, than they looked before. To this day, I have not had an issue with the teeth that Justin fixed. I would highly recommend Justin and the SF dental group to anyone with any dental issues. He knows what he's doing and really cares about his patients. The process of getting your wisdom teeth removed can be rather daunting and scary; however, Justin eliminated this apprehension. The surgery was 100% painless and a much easier process that I had originally thought it would be. The recovery process was simple and well explained. After a few days of the typical antibiotics, the whole process was over and I was back to my daily routine. To this day, I have not had any post-surgery issues. Dr. Tin was the perfect specialist for the job and his team made sure that I was comfortable and made sure that I knew I could call with any questions. I'm very satisfied with my results.

About 15 minutes later the procedure started and it went great, so great that I asked to see the tooth because I couldn't believe it had been extracted. This is where things take a turn, I was pleased with the experience that I asked to have my other tooth extracted immediately, they said 1/19/24 was the soonest availability. I arrived at 8:58am for my 9am. I was greeted with a friendly good morning and told the dentist would see me shortly. She greeted me, numbed me up and complimented my shoes. I laid in the chair for about 10 minutes then the procedure started. Within 15 minutes the tooth was pulled. I'll be honest, I never expected it to go like this, people had told me that the worst pain they ever felt was getting a tooth pulled, I felt no pain. Beyond thankful for their treatment. Medi-cal BEWARE. The…read moreonly reason I would give them one star is because of the visiting dentist that treated me. He was excellent. Coincidentally someone I had seen before, and filling in temporarily for this practice. The appointment started at least 30-45 minutes later than the scheduled time. Definitely an hour by the time I was seen by the dentist post xray. I had a broken tooth. And another that needed a root canal and crown. When I received my x-ray, the knowledgeable visiting dentist who I was seen by recommended a filling for the broken tooth. He stated that the tooth appeared worse on the xray than it actually was, and after some sensitivity testing recommended a filling. After my visit and cleaning I was told by someone at the desk that I could not receive the recommended treatment. Instead, I would need to opt for their $1,300 crown. This was not covered by medi-cal of course. With a little push back I mentioned the dentists recommendation for a filling, presumably more affordable or even covered with my insurance. The woman implied that since he was only visiting he was somehow less capable. She said the scan showed it was too damaged to provide a filling. She never cared to consult the dentist who treated me. Who actually saw and diagnosed the tooth. She said she would consult with the dentist he was covering for, and contact me with treatment options. This never happened. So, be pepared to provide them with the exorbitant fees they bilk for! Or be in good fortunes and have an insurance plan that will satiate their money hungry practices. But if you find yourself vulnerable, in pain, and under insured... I would consider someplace that is compassionate and cares. Who actually places your oral health and comfort in high regard. Shame on you Cosmo Dental.
