My husband and I just left the Heldrich Spa! We were 100% pleased with the services. The spa was clean peaceful and very relaxing. We purchases a 75 minute massage and they did the entire 75 minutes. This was my first full body massage so I didn't know what to expect but the experience was amazing. The spa was clean and appointment only so we were the only two people in the room. They made us fill out a form for covid related info and then we were taken into the room. We did a couples massage but for covid reasons we were not in the same room - not a big deal. The room was warm and the beds were heated. From the beginning my massage therapist was attentive and paid attention to all of the problem areas. She was thorough and I felt amazing afterwards. I had to wear a mask when I flipped over - which was fine and preferred for me - and she wore a mask and a face shield/goggles so I felt even safer. If you go I highly recommend getting a massage with Linda - she is awesome and gives motivational pep talks too! read more

First time here -- the spa is within a hotel in across State theater. There is street parking all over, but depending on the time of day, or semester, it can be hard to find. Since it's winter break, I was able to find spots. I happened to circle back and found a metered spot right in front. Someone must have just pulled out. Woohoo! Got to the third floor and checked in with the front desk, filled out some quick paperwork, and mentioned I didn't need the robe/sauna facilities. That takes off $10.00. Waste of money. A robe should be included. It's part of the spa experience. A lot of chairs and benches throughout. The spa is longer than it is wide, and doesn't feel very spacious. The main waiting area near the treatment rooms (four in total) is small. A bench, a table with refreshments, hard candies, Tazo tea packets (chai tea, chammomile, china green tips). Some stacks of magazines. Originally I had called for a 30 min scalp massage and a 30 min reflexology. I wanted a Sunday, but it was hard for them to coordinate the time we wanted. So we switched to Saturday. Over the phone, I kept repeatedly saying that, for two people. And then at the end of the phone call, I reiterated several times, "Sunday from 12-1, scalp and foot massage for two separate people". The woman agreed with me. But then when I got called the night before for the confirmation I was a little confused because they only mentioned the 30 min scalp massage. I called back and confirmed a 30 min scalp AND 30 min reflexology. Again, she agreed. So I assumed that was in the system, and maybe the woman read it wrong during the phone call? I come to my appointment early -- walked through the doors at 11:50AM. Our appointment was at noon. They asked if our appointments were separate or a couple room. I said preferably a couples room, but separate would be fine if that's all they could do. Soon 12 came and went, and around 12:15, they said we would get the couples room, but the people ahead of us had to finish up, and then the room needed to be prepped/cleaned. I appreciated them acknowledging the time and explaining it to us. Our massages were done by Nadine and Victoria. The scalp massage was different than any other I've had before. Nadine held my head up a lot by the base of my scalp, applying hard pressure with her fingertips. She bent my head forward which was a little uncomfortable. However, the pressure she applied to the rest of my scalp was great! It wasn't too hard, but not too gentle either. Then she moved on to my feet. I loved that she actually worked on my calves and ankles a bit (very sore spots for me) with solid/ medium/hard pressure. Felt so good! My husband wasn't as enthused with his massage -- he said there was a lot of holding of his head and feet, which he felt he could do himself. Why pay someone to do that? The beds weren't heated, but they were comfortable. Given that our massages were for scalp/feet, we were asked how we wanted to do it -- keep our clothes on or take them off to be more comfortable. Victoria was thoughtful and concerned about our relaxing experience as she briefly left to tell some women in the waiting area to lower their voices. However, I felt the treatment was a bit short. Only 45 minutes. So I brought it up to the front desk, and there seemed to be some mix-up and communication errors, which was a bit frustrating because I tried to be very clear on the phone. They thought I had a combined scalp and foot massage treatment for 45 minutes instead of two separate 30 min scalp/foot massages for me and my husband, hence the 45 minutes instead of full hour. At least they charged me correctly: I would be super pissed if I got charged full price for a shorter service. (That's happened at other spas before). They only do phone bookings, so there is no physical confirmation via email to show what I have booked. It would be easy to rectify any confusion or mistakes right away if I saw it on paper. I really wish they would upgrade to a booking system. Then again, I understand that it's a spa within the hotel and the majority of the customers are guests who probably call on short notice or do walk-ins. Regardless, the staff is very friendly, helpful, and communicative. they never gave any attitude, showed any impatience and were polite whenever we had a question. Very clean bathrooms. No garbage or toilet paper on the floor. A pitcher of water available.The sinks looked a little cluttered, but I actually liked that : it looked like a lived in bathroom with all the products around and the blow dryers, little hand towels. Hair styling is basically in the hallway & the poor technician had to get disrupted from her client for anyone that needed to get past for the restrooms. Very difficult to get an appointment. I called several times and left messages. No one called back. Finally got someone and booked my massage. Linda gave me a great massage. She worked on areas that needed extra attention. As soon as she touched my shoulders, she felt how tense I was and went at it! It was awesome. If you're staying at The Heldrich, a visit to their spa is a must! After our wedding weekend in September, we decided to relax and pamper ourselves at the spa. Call ahead of time and leave a message if you don't hear from anyone. They'll get back to you. We got lucky and scored street parking, but if you don't feel like fighting the parking, just do the valet. They don't validate, but they should offer discount parking. I'm live in New Brunz and I agree; parking is a pain! The Spa is located on the third floor inside The Heldrich. Upon arriving, you are promptly greeted and ushered into the locker room where you change into a robe and slippers. he staff is friendly and professional. The Spa, though small, was quiet, tranquil, and clean, not super high end, but beautiful and modern. They sell a few items in their shop. There's access to the fitness center, which is included with any spa appointment. They also have a pool to relax in. My husband and I had facials and massages. Unfortunately, we were a little late, (my fault) so they were cut short, but both the facial and massage were super relaxing! Our estheticians and massage therapists knew what they were doing! I didn't want to leave. They use natural/organic products and after both sessions, my skin wasn't irritated! Usually after a session at Massage Envy, my skin is itchy, so it was a nice surprise. Make sure you arrive a few minutes early to fill out some paperwork and don't be late like we were! If you need a place to relax, the Spa at The Heldrich is a great place to relax, rejuvenate, and pamper yourself. Follow it up with dinner at Christopher's or any other nearby New Brunswick restaurants, a good night's sleep in The Heldrich, and you'll have an awesome weekend! read more

This review is just for their mani/pedi service. I got a gift certificate to the spa for my birthday back in October, and decided to use it on a spa mani/pedi right before I left for Christmas break. I scheduled a 10:00 appointment about 2 weeks in advance to be sure I could get that spot, as I was on a very tight schedule and wanted to be positive I could leave by 12:00 for a different appointment. They called me to confirm the morning before, however that night (the night before) I received call #2 from the receptionist informing me that the manicurist had "something to do" on her way in to work, and had to push my appointment back to 10:30, but that she would give me a massage while I waited. This should have been the first and only flag. I arrived at the spa promptly at 10:00 and was able to walk right in, however there was not a soul in sight. Literally, I could walk into every room, but there was not a receptionist or masseuse to be found. I waited 30 minutes before both the receptionist and the manicurist walked in. So much for my massage. So I told the manicurist that I needed to be out of there by 12:00, and asked if we could scratch the "spa" mani/pedi and just do a regular mani/pedi instead. She insisted that she could do the spa treatment in time. I blame myself for for trusting her. Not only was she INCREDIBLY slow, but proceeded to take the tools out of her purse that she walked in carrying. Why they didn't have any manicure tools at a SPA is completely beyond me, and probably unsanitary as well. Long story short, I didn't end up leaving until a quarter after 12:00, with paper flip flops on my feet, wet nails, and nail polish all over my fingers. For such a pricey spa I would not recommend this service to anyone. Go to your local nail salon, I can guarantee they do a better job. read more

If I could give zero stars...I would. I arrived 30 minuets before my appointment time and the door to the spa was locked. No one was sitting at the front desk either (I could see the front desk thru the glass doors.) I decided to call the spa and no one answered. After standing for 20 minuets between knocking and calling the spa someone came and opened the door. I was a little standoffish. I told the person that I was standing there for about 20 minuets. She was apologetic and brought the manager to me. The manager was not really apologetic and full of excuses. And she told me that I was early from my appointment. UMMMMMMM...isnt it standard practice to come early to a spa appointment. Anyway, I was still fired up but I tried to cool down. She led me to the changing room and said she would be outside waiting for me. I changed and walk to the front desk. I asked the receptionist (who now appeared) if my room was ready. The girl must of just graduated from high school. She had bad bedside manners. She quickly responded and said, 'I don't know...I just got here' . That is when I FLIPPED!!!!!!!! I told the girl that she and the rest of the staff here are soo unprofessional. And I will not waste my money at this establishment. I changed. And stormed out. Luckily they did not have my credit card on file. Now, if the receptionist who made my appointment did his job properly, they would of collected my credit card information while booking my appointment. The Spa was very nice and the staff was very friendly. I cannot recall my massage therapists name (possibly Victoria?) but I had an 80 minute package and it was wonderful. She missed no spot on me including toes and fingers! I am giving them 4 stars because for such an "upscale spa" in a hotel, there was no relaxation room and they do not offer you water at the end of the massage. These may seem petty but considering I have had massages at chain locations and small private salons, the relaxation rooms and lemon water usually given afterwards really adds to the whole tranquil experience. Also, if you don't feel like throwing down an extra $10 just to throw on a robe for a few seconds and walk to your assigned massage room, just ask them to skip it. I've been to this establishment a few times and I enjoy it very much. I've been to other spas, from franchises to privately owned, and I feel that this is a great deal. Yes this place is extremely small, but honestly I don't mind it. I feel like if you complained about the people skills, or that you were in a hurry and on a set schedule, then you shouldn't be going to a spa. People who waste money to go to a spa.. go to get the treatment and leave, no one cares for the little added stuff. It's a luxury not a drive through. You want relaxation.. you go do yoga. I received a full body massage and it was honestly amazing, I forgot the gentleman's name. I mostly go there to get a facial every so often, and I highly recommend the microderm with the deep cleansing facial + eye and lip treatment. AMAZING! I tend to pay double, sometimes triple at other spas! After working 80 hours a week this literally makes you feel and look so good afterwards. I recommend asking for Julia, she knows what she's doing. I've gotten the mani/pedi before once or twice and it wasn't bad. I think it would be nice if they served cocktails while getting it done! Cool thing I don't think many people know is you can go early and use the sauna, which has many health benefits to your skin and body! Also, I was told I could use the gym and pool before or after my services if I wanted to. I honestly don't care about the extra ten dollars for a robe, it's not that serious. Love the staff, they were pretty friendly and knowledgeable about skincare. I plan to go back. If you're like me, I would plan once or twice a month, book a message + facial, and go early and enjoy the gym next door, then hit the sauna and then get pampered. That's relaxation! DO NOT GO HERE. This was the worst massage I have ever had. We booked a 75 minute couples massage, and a manicure for me. The massage was incredibly rushed, every movement was incredibly fast and hard. I asked multiple times during the massage for her to go less firmly and to slow down, but that didn't really happen. I felt like her personal speed bag for the full 75 minutes. She bent my neck in a way it really shouldn't go, slammed my face into my collarbone (despite telling her I had broken my nose a week prior), and was so fast with the stretching that it didn't do much other than hurt. Stretching should always be gradual to prevent injury. My boyfriend also had a similar experience. We both found it hard to relax because everything was so vigorous and fast. She wrenched my shoulder hard enough that I went home and iced it because it hurt so badly. I've had literally hundreds of massages and this was by far the worst. I've never walked out of a massage feeling worse than I have when I walked in, until I went here. The only redeeming thing was my manicure. Abi was lovely and did a great job. She was personable and kind. We contacted them the day after and they offered 50% off a future service and said we should have walked out if we weren't happy. Given that I didn't know how my boyfriend's massage was as it was happening, I had a manicure booked after, and I've never heard of that happening, I wasn't about to do that. The manager was supposed to call us but it's been over a week and no call. So terrible customer service and terrible massages. A complete waste of $220 and an hour and a half of my time. read more

So I got tired of crappy nail salons around the area so I figured I'll treat myself to the spa. Wow I spent $70 on a mani pedi that was not worth it whatsoever. The "spa" seemed less high end than some of the $10 nail salons in highland park. The lady who did my nails was super sweet but $70 to walk out of there with my nails not even fully painted? Not worth it. She smudged my nail with her own finger and did not fix it. The sides of my nail were not painted properly and the polish was uneven. Also walked around barefoot because they did not even offer any type of slipper between pedicure and manicure. Very poorly run. The only reason I did not give 1 star is because the color selection (very small) was pretty and the people were nice. I have gotten $10 manicures better than this. Would not go back. read more

Went in for a massage and had an overall good experience. Unfortunetally left on awkward terms. The massage was given on a heated table under blankets. Which was great until halfway through when I asked for some water. I got grief from the lady who gave me her bottle of water she paid $1 for. I would have waited for a cup. Afterwards when I went to pay I declined to add a tip and she gave me a death stare. $75 is a lot for 55 mins. Like I said it was a great massage but the professionalism is lacking. This is the email I sent, I think the fact that I didn't even receive a response from the Heldrich sums up their customer service: Good Morning, I had assumed I would hear from a manger yesterday about my lack of an experience at the Heldrich Spa but since I didn't I figured I would reach out. My experience started with calling the Heldrich Spa last week to book a Repechage facial. I have been wanting to try this brand and using the spa locater on their website with the right combination that you were open on Sunday mornings I decided to travel to the Heldrich Spa. The receptionist was polite but was not equipped to assist. I asked her how to book the Repechage facial online and she said she didn't know, she said I could call back after 3:00 to speak to the esthetician, when I tried to explain the Repechage line she said they offered seaweed body wraps? I asked if I just booked a regular facial online if the esthetician could help me on Sunday, she said yes so that is what I did. I arrived at spa etiquette time by 9:45 for a 10:00 appointment. At 9:58am a young girl came out of the elevator and said oh I'm sorry are you here for your appointment? I replied that I was and not to worry she explained she had issues with her Mom driving her. She was polite and proceeded to turn on the lights throughout the place and show me where the restroom was. At 10:18 am (please keep in mind I have left house at 9am for this appt.) she said oh the girl who is supposed to do your facial said she isn't coming. I was like oh, well can you put me with someone else. No, she said she left you a message yesterday that you can get an upgrade for your next facial (umm is this the free upgrade you are offering everyone?). I didn't receive any message and they also have my email address. This wasn't the front office girls fault but I told her it was just so unprofessional, I told her that when I booked the appt online I had a choice of 3 estheticians for 10am Sunday, why hadn't someone else picked this up? She was the only one in the whole "spa" so I just headed back down the elevator of the Heldrich. The fact that I am having to reach out to this spa speaks volumes to the complete lack of professionalism of the entire organization. I am sure it is very disappointing for repechage that they are working with a spa of this caliber. I sincerely hope my feedback assists the Heldrich Spa in being more customer oriented. read more

It's was my second time there and it was just as nice as the 1st time. Nichole did a great job on my 55min massage. I asked her to go a bit deeper and she did just that. I did a couples massage for my 3 yr anniversary..my hubby enjoyed his massage as well. The massage got 5 stars but the hotel brings it down to 4. I wish they had a jacuzzi, the pool area is ok. I've visited the spa many times. First of all, I'm not a guy that uses public bathrooms often but I can honestly say the men's locker room is as good as it gets as far as being clean. The spa is very nice and the staff does a great job. Every massage I've had there has been very good. Staff is very friendly too. Definitely recommend it. read more

I went in for a bikini wax. The spa is on the 3rd floor of the hotel. It was really quiet and they took me in right away. The staff was perfectly friendly and the woman that waxed me was sweet. The waxing was done the way it's supposed to be done: no double dipping in the wax! So, I was pleased with that. She did a great job, and I left happy. When I first arrived, I was shown to the bathroom where there is a sauna, clean robes, slippers, and towels, a shower and other amenities. All very clean. Oh and lockers with keys for your stuff. I absolutely love this spa I am back every two weeks. They're super friendly. I get offered some tea and water. The place is always clean, & the plush robes are so comfy. Victoria and Nicole are the therapist I normally see. The massage's are amazing, Vic & Nicole are both well versed and never let me down! The music always puts me to sleep (lol). This facility also has a sauna, pool and gym which I like to make use of especially the sauna. My routine is to use it after my massage and before my facial. Julia is also an extremely talented esthetician my skin glow's when she is done with it! I'll fit in a meni/pedi or a eyebrow wax if I need it, make it a one stop shop.
