I first came to Heladeria Dylan in 2019. I had been to several other ice cream stores in San Telmo…read moreand throughout Argentina before then and they were all (mostly) very good. As soon as I tested this ice cream, I knew is great and I ordered a kilo. It is amazing! Favorites: Menta Granizada (chocolate chip mint), Lemon Pie and their Chocolate Amagro. Of course, I have not tried them all, but the lemon sorbet is top notch also. I have to avoid going there too often and, when I do, I have to put in a small dish. My fear is that I will eat out of the container and finish it all.

Could this be the best helado in San Telmo?…read more Across the board, the helado here was the best I tried in Buenos Aires - texture wasn't at all soft/foamy/icy, flavors were all there. We ended up getting: - Dulce de leche - Coco de dulce de leche - Irish cream - Sambayon with maraschino cherries Don't miss the first two: The classic dulce de leche was better than the versions at any of the many heladerias I visited. The coco de dulce was a really lovely twist, with bits of coconut and no artificial coconut flavor. The interior is very clean, almost disturbingly sleek. The staff didn't act like they'd rather be probed by aliens than selling ice cream (see: Sumo, Nonna Bianca). Worth a visit? Yes! But good luck catching them when they're actually open (visiting during winter, when area ice cream shops are only open a few hours a day, a few days a week, doesn't help).

I visited Lucciano twice during my trip. The location I went to is on Av. Corrientes, just a block…read morefrom Güerrín Pizza, though Yelp wouldn't let me check in there. Our guide had recommended Freddo, but we ended up loving Lucciano much more. I'd even say it's better than some of the gelato I've had in Italy. Yes, I said it! On my first visit, I got a small with Coco Rock and Dubai Chocolate, and it was absolutely divine. I enjoyed it so much that I upgraded to a medium on my second visit. Unfortunately, with our limited Spanish, I think there was a mix-up and I only got one scoop of Dubai Chocolate instead of two, so that was a bit of a bummer. If I ever make it back to Buenos Aires, I might just get a whole tub of the Dubai Chocolate flavor. Also, their ice pops are so adorable, they're almost too cute to eat!

There is not too much that I can say here... It's a Gelato shop in the mall. If you could call…read morethis type of shop "trendy," I will. There were a lot of people here looking for some of these exotic flavors. It was very convenient to have this shop right accros the street from our hotel. That worked out well! My only challenge was communicating exactly what I wanted in English. The service was fine and I like their model of paying for what you want then ordering the flavors you want. While it is easy to say "Chocolate" or "Vanilla," size and method of delivery was a little more difficult. But, in the end all worked out and we left happy and REALLY enjoyed the gelato. Many people were here to buy cones, cups and event larger sizes to bring home. Clearly Lucciano's has a strong following. KUDOs to the team at Lucciano's
