I'm staying in the area and this place always magically and magnetically draws me back to its store…read moreeven when I'm not hungry. This is a true testament of the fine quality of all their baked goods. While a bit more expensive than some other patisseries, I have found none other that have the flakiest empanadas, or those with the highest quality fillings. I particularly like the mushroom and cheese ones. All the other sweet goods are baked equally well. I find that now that I have tasted their offerings it is difficult to go anywhere else.

Someone gifted us with assortment of cookies from this bakery in Buenos Aires. All were delicious. My favorite was a cookie topped with raspberry jam, an almond and icing. It was better than an orgasm...ok maybe not better but pretty darn close. These cookies were bite size but each had its own distinct and delicious flavor. If ever I make it to Buenos Aires I will definitely look this bakery up and spend the entire day sampling all their little bits of heaven. So `Ono!

Sadly, I've never seen anything like this in the US so one must eat this far too often when visiting ba. Cute little neighborhood café, offering up a tasty range of the usual suspects in the local pastry…read moreworld. Staff, a little stand-off-ish, but efficient, at least. A café americano and a postre balcarce. Three layers of vanilla sponge cake, rather firm, the bottom two sandwiching a thin layer of dulce de leche, then the next layer up, a very thin coat of what I'd guess is sweet chestnut paste, no meringues, a thin coating of whipped cream around the outside, and then a heavy dusting of sweetened grated coconut. Not exactly traditional. Okay, no better than that, and only a nod at faithfulness to the original. Okay coffee. 100 pesos combined. Meh. What can I say, they can't all be winners.
