I would not tell anyone to use keystone dental in Shamokin Dam, because of her wanting to use…read moreanthesia she appealed the insurance company all I needed was a local . Which I've been waiting on for months in the meantime my abcess got worse, I needed to go to ER got a shot, a very potent antibiotic, and pain medicine. I was seen at ER on A Tuesday and tooth was removed in 3 days. I had to travel 2 hours from home, more antibiotics, pain meds, and a rinse 3 times a day. The Dr. was amazing numbed me up tooth was out in under 1 minute. I had called keystone for help and they called back when I said I don't have thousands for anthesia they said they would call back and never did.

I had been referred by my dentist to have dental surgery done with Keystone. I showed up early and…read morewasn't called until 30 minutes past my appointment. When I checked in they lost the referral. Then I finally get back into the room only to find out this was a consultation. The surgeon was very pushy about me signing all the paperwork before I had a chance to read everything and ask questions. I had already had some questions, she insisted that I sign first then would be able to ask my questions. After I signed she told me to go home and read through everything and if I had questions to call. I told her I did not want to be sedated, I only wanted local anesthesia. She said if I wouldn't agree to the sedation then she wouldn't do it. So I think the biggest problem was communication. The Dr did call and follow up when I decided to have the procedure done elsewhere. During the call she explained her situation and did tell me that the choice was up to me if I would be sedated or not. So my plan is to get a second opinion and make an informed choice. I think if we reviewed all the paperwork together prior to me leaving then I would feel more comfortable having the procedure done there. If I choose to have Keystone do the procedure I will post a followup review.

I went in for a new complete set of dentures, the staff were all very polite and informative,…read moretreated me with a lot of respect, listened to what I wanted and I met with the financial lady she was also very friendly, helpful, and gave me my options for payment. I love my new teeth, they have accommodated all my preferences I would definitely recommend to family & friends!

VERY CONCERNING experience with Dentist. Steven Plouffe and the check-out staff at Aspen Dental…read more My mom visited this office for the FIRST TIME for a routine dental checkup. During the exam, the dentist said HER TEETH LOOKED GOOD and there were NO CAVITIES OR ISSUES. However, at the end of the visit they recommended a DEEP CLEANING. We initially agreed because we assumed it was similar to a normal cleaning. At checkout we were then presented with a $3,900 ESTIMATE, which was shocking. When we asked if my mom could instead get a REGULAR CLEANING, the CHECK-OUT STAFF HAD A VERY PUSHY ATTITUDE and insisted she MUST DO DEEP CLEANING because she supposedly had PERIODONTITIS. This was confusing because: * The dentist NEVER mentioned periodontitis during the exam * NO periodontal probing measurements were done * The treatment plan document shows NO PSR score or periodontal exam recorded When we asked the dentist to confirm, he briefly returned and said my mom had periodontitis, but NO MEASUREMENTS OR EXPLANATION WERE PROVIDED. We declined the treatment. Patients deserve clear diagnosis, documentation, and transparency before being pushed into a $3,900 procedure.
