This is a really interesting shop to go and have a look around, but it's like nothing I've ever really come into contact with before. The biking world is an amazing one, I think. No other enthusiasts have the same sense of freedom combined with such an iconic uniform and way of life. I've often seen rows of biker friends driving through the thick, hot, sunshiny days, especially in New Zealand, actually (they have very good roads there). It's something which certainly either appeals to people, or completely doesn't. And it's always appealed to me in a big way, but I'll be the first to admit that I'll most likely never have the courage to do it. But this is why I'm drawn to these shops every time I pass them by. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN HEIN GERICKE EVER AGAIN!!! Went in last week to get a new set of leathers, being my first set I didn't know which sizes would be best so needed advice. I really liked the RST Razer but unfortunately my size was not in stock. Gavin took my measurements and ordered the leathers in my size but I had pay in full or he couldn't request them for me to try on. So paid £400 and walked out with nothing. This Saturday I drove back up to collect my leathers. Tried the Jacket and it fitted perfectly. The trousers however were far too big and falling down. For a motorcycle clothing specialist company this really shouldn't of happened but these things happen. I don't really fancy another 60 mile round trip, two was bad enough, but (if I eventually get the right size trousers next week) it'll of taken me three trips. 180 miles worth of fuel, at todays prices, have now made these leathers the highest prices in the UK ! To make matters really sour. I enquired about a schuberth C3 Flip helmet they had in Silver. I really liked it and decided I'd have it. I was told they could do me a deal of around the £370 mark. I agreed but only had £200 cash in my pocket. I'd drawn that from the cash machine today so would have to pay the rest next week and pick it up if they could put it aside. I reminded the guy I HAD to come back next weekend anyhow to collect my leather trousers I'd paid for in full but didn't fit. I was then told they didn't take deposits!. OK I said I will still have it, you have my word and I'll pay for it next weekend, can you just put it aside with my name on? The guy then said 'well er, if you can't pay for it in full today it may be sole in the middle of the week, another guy showed an interest and said he may have it so I can't say whether it'll be here or not. I'm fuming, They have £400 quid of mine, I've only got half the goods in my possession, I HAVE to go back next weekend to get the rest, due to them not getting the correct sizes! I live 28 miles away, so the inconvenience of an additional 60 mile round trip, at my expense isn't exactly pleasing. The other person just showed a passing interest and hasn't committed either way, probably won't. I made it clear as I was leaving that I'd definitely have it next week, if they can put it aside, that is a promise. Only to be told 'sorry can't you try and get the funds today, then you could have it now. Well if my word isn't good enough then neither is my custom. Now I know what my sizes are I won't ever touch Hein Gericke ever again, I advise and recommend to anyone reading NOT to go near Hein Gericke either. They do offer discounts but still not the best prices, when compared to the internet. I'll get the helmet on-line. I'm so very close to returning my Jacket, telling them not to bother getting the correct trousers and to refund me the lot instead. A very bitter experience, one I WILL NEVER repeat!!! Ady read more
