I returned 24/03/25 to no update on my car so I requested a courtesy car as per my insurance agreement, I was told there wasn't 1 available but I said I need one to get to work and my insurance has courtesy car included in it. I eventually had one delivered that day. The man came (who to be fair to him, was very nice) we talked about his dogs, he had a once over the car, told me to sign for the car and he went on his way. Weeks passed with no update on the car, was kept getting told there was no ETA on the parts, which was fair enough, it got to 30/4/25 and RS motors called me to say there was no ETA still. I had paid out over £900 in finance charges and insurance by this point, I said I was going to ask Ford insure to write the car off. RS motors told me they were only waiting on 1 part so it was unlikely they would do that. I phone Ford insurance and they agreed to settle the car as a total loss. I was told to phone RS motors and collect my stuff from inside ready for the salvage company to collect it, and to my shock they said the part had just arrived. Almost 3 months waiting and that exact second Ford agreed to settle to car as a total loss, the part come in. Very convenient. I was then given the choice of going down the total loss route or have them repair it. I chose the repair, fast forward 6/5/25 I phoned RS motors for a update, they said the car had been written off and are awaiting instruction, I phoned Ford insure and asked them what was going on and they said they said they had instructed the authorisation of the repair on 30/4/25 when I agreed to the repair. By this point I was just happy I was getting my car back. I eventually picked it up 8/5/25, when I arrived at RS motors someone come out to inspect the curtesy car, said their was scuffs on the alloys, I said check my alloys, I don't scuff alloys I'm very careful. They then pointed out a tiny scuff at the front of the car, when I say tiny, look at the photos, they knew it was there previously, you think it was dust, they've rubbed the area and everything so it stands out. The car has done 18,000 miles in total, I 100% did not do the damage, if you can even call it that. Try point it out in the photos if you can see it! Anyway, £150 that cost me on top. By this point I just wanted out of there, I had to transfer money from various bank accounts to make the payment as I only had my £350 excess, I noticed a massive dent in the back of my door which you can also see pictured but I made the point in saying well I had no photos of my car before either so what's the point? And just left. £150 out of pocket for a made up 1cm buff on the curtesy car and probably a £300 repair for damage on my door. One thing I will say is the repair to the front end of my vehicle looks good and well, just a shame with how it ended. Also, how do you use almost 1/4 a tank of fuel when testing a bumper that's been fitted? They knew I had not damaged their curtesy car and after having it for almost 3 months + the money made from the repair, they could have ignored a very old bit of wear and tare I hadn't picked up on initially. The dent on my door was the icing on the cake though. All in all, not the greatest experience with RS Motors
