Staff are friendly and you even get a cup of tea to keep your hands warm while you stand in the viewing area watching your bike get put through the paces. They sell bikes, accessories and clothes and will also order parts in for you if you need it. The mechanics are friendly and knowledgeable and will chat about your stuff if they have the time to do so. I had my bike serviced there as it was a bit lumpy, and the guy doing the work phoned me up and said "it's a lot better than it used to be; I've balanced the carbs and I'm fairly sure I can get some more performance out of it if you have the time, I've spent a lot of time on these so know I can get a bit more well out of it..." -- lovely to hear that they have a ton of experience of your machine when they're working on it. If you're looking for somewhere friendly and trustworthy to take your pride and joy to be given the once-over by a professional, you can't go wrong here. About £150 for an annual service and about £30 for a MoT.

Although their stores are a little run down from the outside with scaffolding supporting ageing roof structures, the combined experience of the staff here is something that many other motorcyle spares shops would struggle to match. With the majority fo their spares aimed at the vintage and collectors markets, Onslows still have the know how to repair more modern bikes and are happy to provide impartial advice.

After using the same mechanic for…read moreyears, whose prices seemed to get higher and higher, I decided to take my bike for its MOT to Behind Bars. I had heard through word of mouth 'not to bother with them'. I can only personally speculate where this rubbish came from! They MOT'D my bike on the spot, found a very minor thing wrong with it, (which would figure because it's what I already knew about and other than that, it runs like a beauty). So I came away over the moon, as I usually have to wait a day or two for an MOT. They have seats in reception while you wait and I'm Female, not once did they make me feel like I was stupid or try to convince me that there was more wrong with my bike than I anticipated. The other day I called them to ask if they could get me a new battery, which they sorted for me over the phone and told me I could pick up the next day, due to charging. They gave it me boxed, but filled and charged, I mentioned that I'd take my old one down the tip, so they offered to put the new one in, free of charge and dispose of the old one for me. I waited a few minutes and rode away happy! And again? A great price too! Good guys, who really know how to keep business!

Robbery, Utter Robbery. I wanted to support my local motorcycle repair shop by using them and maybe…read moresaving a few pounds in the process. A Ducati dealer oil change was £285. All I had done here was an oil change an mot for £30 and asked them to take asander to my gear-lever to file it back a touch (which I could have done myself, but I thought I don't mind paying them a few pounds to do it for me) he charged me over £200 for the use of his sander and £300 for the oil change. Total bill was £532.69.... because I own a Ducati he thought he would rip me off

I was stuck for transport with my bike being in for repair, so they gave me a courtesy bike to use for work and back in the mean time (an interesting 3 wheeled scooter!). After waiting a short time for parts to be delivered, they had serviced my bike and completely cured the problem with my brakes. They kept me informed with the progress and prices, and offered to deliver the bike to my home and collect the loan scooter. I'm very pleased with the service at this place! You can easily see why they're said to be the best motorcycle shop in the West Midlands. A quick turn around, friendly staff and I even got a cup of coffee! Well worth a visit!

This shop has been there forever, and has a real "Things As They Used To Be" charm. Recommended.

Drayton Croft is one of those bike shops that is a throw back to how dealerships used to be before…read morethe manufacturers took over. Simple, welcoming, good for a browse and plenty to see and talk about. The area around the shop isn't that salubrious, and parking needs to be close to the main drag in my opinion, but I do like the warmth of the shop, and the chatty helpful attitude from those working behind the counters here. Last time I was in, they were rolling out bikes for me, even though I made it pretty clear I was only passing and browsing. If I am ever in the market for another bike I'll drop back and see them for sure.
