You won't find anything better or more authentic than these. To me, the garage owner is like a guardian angel. They are really honest and very competent; if they wish, they could be charging me thousands since I've already told them everything--where I took my car, troubles, etc.--but since they are very genuine, they only charged me a few hundred, which included fitting a new battery and fixing my car. So after we thankfully arrived home alive and without casualties he thought it would be a good idea to have the horrendous sound checked out. I accompanied him to Ratchet and Spanner, they said they would try and confirm what the cause of the problem was and get back to him in a couple of days. So after a couple of days they believed they had identified the problem, apparently the radiator fan has come loose and was grinding against the surrounding casing - no major biggie according to them. They installed a new one and. . . peace at last, relative to how it was, it felt like I was passenger in one of the smoothest auto-mobiles cruising the streets of Birmingham. £20 down and a functioning fan up - that seems like a fair trade to me.
