The official name is North Palm Beach Heights but most people just call it the Heights. The Heights is located off of Donald Ross Road and is between I-95 and Abacoa. The Heights neighborhood really loves Christmas and Florida Power and Light really loves the Heights. Every December the Heights shows their love of the holidays by decking out their homes with lights, inflatables, and all kinds of decorations. Almost every home in the Heights is ornately decorated but the most decorated of all award goes to the Who-ville Experience. Every inch of the property is covered in custom made How the Grinch Stole Christmas decorations, inflatables, and lights. "Snow" blows over the whole thing and the Grinch himself can be seen walking around. This is a walk through experience so take a minute and park and come in. The Who-ville experience is free to visit and runs until December 31st. Wednesday through Sunday 6 to 10 PM. I really appreciate this family for giving up their Christmas Eve and many evenings to make such a wonderful display for the community to bring families together.

When we arrived, as requested we were seated outside with a beautiful, front row, unobstructed view of the sun setting on the Jupiter lighthouse. The food was nothing short of excellent. We started with the Burrata Caprese and the fish bites, then followed with the Yellowfin tuna Veracruz and the Cioppino Capellini. I tasted the tuna and enjoyed the cioppino myself and they were both substantially-sized, downright flavour bombs and beautifully plated. The cioppino in particularly nailed the balance of spice to create intrigue without approaching the point of overwhelm. They also managed to omit calamari on request, which I suspect wasn't easy. My companion ordered a hot tea with dinner as it was a bit chilly as the sun receded and this was forgotten. It was no problem but after asking the server to forget it as it was no longer needed, we were bombarded with apologies, offers of complimentary dessert and champagne. All were entirely unnecessary but appreciated. We accepted a single order of key lime pie to go, which I have yet to eat but is mouthwateringly presented. As we chatted with Anthony our server, we came to realize he was pushing through a particularly challenging service, but you'd never have known as he was absolutely delightful throughout. He was a high point. Admittedly, we are sober and while we did enjoy a couple of delicious mocktails, this does reduce the cost of a dinner out. I mention this because there was nothing untoward about the pricing of the foid we ordered, which was excellent. We all need to be more realistic about the actual costs of food and service. I will return to the Beacon for a special occasion in a heartbeat and would be delighted to be served by Anthony again. He was attentive, without being overbearing and simply fun. Note: the manager was also circulating, checking carefully on everyone's experience, including topping up water and the like. For appetizers, we split their meatballs and their zucchini fritters. The fritters were incredible. The dishes looked huge, so we split two dishes between the four of us. The chicken francese had a ton of flavor, it did taste like an old school NY/NJ spot. It was 100% on point. He also designed the fish and lizard cutouts on the sound barrier wall along Interstate 95 and the Fish Out of Water sculpture along the water in West Palm Beach. Forever and Always was created for the Compassionate friends Memorial Garden in Palm Beach Garden. The sculpture features two hands in an open position, with the shape of a heart removed from the center of each palm. Between the hands, a heart with wings floats. The sculpture is on a 7 foot tall concrete pedestal. This sculpture is meant to give visitors to the garden a sense of hope and serenity. Fuller said that he designed the hands to be seen as in a praying position or as a gesture of letting go. A loved one's touch stays with someone even as they come to terms with the loss. You can find Forever and Always in the area along the lake near the Burns Road Recreation Center.
