The official name is North Palm Beach Heights but most people just call it the Heights. The Heights is located off of Donald Ross Road and is between I-95 and Abacoa. The Heights neighborhood really loves Christmas and Florida Power and Light really loves the Heights. Every December the Heights shows their love of the holidays by decking out their homes with lights, inflatables, and all kinds of decorations. Some of the highlights are the lighted arches that stretch over the street and street nicknamed Candy Cane Lane because every house on the street is lined with colorful candy canes. My favorite decorations included the robotic arm sleigh flying the rooftop, tropical Santa taking a break from the Christmas madness by lounging out on his beach chair, the lighted flamingos which is so Florida, and all of the Star Wars inflatables because you can't confine Christmas to just this galaxy. Be sure not to miss Hollywood and Pompano Streets. You could easily drive around for an hour and not see it all. Best of all, it is free fun that can be enjoyed by the whole family. It's so romantic to enjoy a meal in such a setting. We arrived right on time, you should too. They run a tight ship but that's nice. We did not wait one moment. We were welcomed and brought to our table. The stag came by filled our waters and got us started. They gave us a moment to review the wine and dinner menus. Then retuned to tell us about the specials. We went crazy with garlic bread, a rissoto ball, pasta Fagioli soup, and Cesar salad to get started. The flavors were wonderful and rich. Nice way to start. The Mrs had the eggplant rolatini and I had the shrimp limoncello. Wow to both. The eggplant was thin sliced and lightly fried. The shrimp was wild due to a sweet finish from the limoncello sauce. Both were delicious and we were pleased. We shared a bottle of wine with dinner, a nice recommendation from our waitress. It was a great pairing. We wrapped with a tiramisu. Different than I expected and have had in the past but it was wonderful in its own way. Turns out most things are homemade and we could tell. If you ask for specific preparation, someone will come to make sure it is prepared perfectly! The ambiance is so happy, with families, friends and children.
