The Scott and Billie Fletcher Beach was purchased by Martin County in 1973. This is the only beach on this end of Hutchinson Island that I was easily able to find parking for. It does not have a lifeguard or restrooms so it is not as popular as some of the other beaches. While it may lack in amenities it is more secluded which is nice if you are looking for a more peaceful beach experience. From the parking area you just hike up a trail over the sand dune to the beach. The beaches on this part of Hutchinson Island have rocky looking outcroppings known as the Anastasia formation which was named by E. H. Sellards in 1912. The formation was deposited during the deposited during the late Pleistocene and the "rocks" are really sand and coquina limestone embedded with mollusk shells and sparry calcite. It forms cliffs and caves that form a habitat for sea life. It is not very comfortable on bare feet but it makes a lovely backdrop for pictures. If you are looking for a more off the beaten path beach, Fletcher Beach is ideal for sunbathing, beachcombing, wildlife watching, fishing, surfing, swimming, and photography.

They wanted to do something outdoorsy but safe so we decided to visit the beach for a bonfire. The beach was a quick drive from their condo and the parking was just off the road, and the parks department keeps the lot clean. You have to walk on a wooden path to get to the beach which is over a slight hill. The beach is large and well kept, we found a perfect spot to build a small fire and just relax and star gaze. As far as beaches go, it's a nice one! I didn't see any trash which is always impressive to me. This is a place I'd like to come back in the daylight to check out and do a traditional beach day. But if you want to enjoy a nice fire and beautiful night skies, this is your place! Kudos to to Florida and their awesome beaches.

It's highly polished stainless steel skin reflects a constantly changing view of the sky, clouds, traffic, people, etc. I'm told there is a glass walkway (visible in some of the pictures) that can be booked for weddings but I don't know any of those details. It's an amazing site to see.

Heart in the Park was designed by Filipino American, Orlando-based artist Jefre Figueras Manuel, known as JEFRË. Manuel started Studio Mattamy Homes, the largest privately owned homebuilder in North America, in 2008 after he had a heart attack at the age of 35 followed by triple bypass surgery which gave him a new perspective on life. He transitioned from urban planning to focusing on his art full time. He has gone on to complete large scale art works all over the world. About the artwork he has created, he has said ""I love public art just for the fact that it's actually public. That is my job: to create icons for cities that the public can view and appreciate, that tell the history of the city." You can see more of Manuel's art in the Lake Nona Sculpture Garden. I have been JEFRË fan since first discovering his work in the Orlando Museum of Art. This art piece is meant to be a symbol of inclusivity. Heart in the Park will be adjacent to the 71,000-square-foot Shoppes at the Heart of Tradition commercial center, currently finishing up construction. Heart in the Park is being built along Tradition Trail, also known as the T-Trail. T-Trail will also include Stars and Stripes Park, nature trails, and Tradition Regional Park.

Palm City Social - Street corn guacamole

Overall, had some excellent food with the ahi tuna being my favorite. My filet was perfectly cooked medium rare and was served with creamy mashed potatoes and crispy green beans. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food and I've included pictures here. Will continue to return for a nice night out in Palm City.

Decided to stop in for tuna stack and guacamole (that we've previously enjoyed on prior occasions). Seemed odd that on a Thursday evening at 6pm the hostess asked if we had reservations. That should have tipped us off that things were different. The bar was full and the very loud. Our server didn't know what fish was on the special for the evening. We weren't enticed, so we went with our original order. Then the disappointment set in; the tuna stack was literally have the size of the ones we've had there. The mango salsa layer wasn't salsa it was bland chopped mango. The bottom layer of guac was about an inch and the chop tuna was light pink to white (at best). Needless to say the "shareable" lasted about three bites each for two people. Regretfully, we ordered the guacamole that was also disappointing. The portion was smaller than before and lacked flavor (seasoning). A few nuggets of corn topper and no cheese (as described on the menu). That "shareable" comes with a salsa that was the coup de grâce of disappointment; it was runny and lacked any semblance of chopped vegetables. It literally tasted like spaghetti sauce and not the good type. We pulled up our Yelp review from last year and sure enough the portions are not even close in terms of size or presentation. We showed the server our pics from last year's Yelp post and she said that she's never had that order. She gave the chef our feedback. Later on she came back and said the chef acknowledged the "salsa" consistency. He offered to make a fresh batch... our plates were gone by that time and we weren't about to take that offer. The grand finale ended with the check being delivered and our server telling us "an automatic 18% service fee is added to the check"... my wife and I looked at each other with utter disgust. We wasted $47 on two awful shareables and one unsweetened tea. It's sad to see yet another restaurant go down the drain so quickly. It seems like PSC went under new management and lost their kitchen and serving staff. Uploading a new pic of the "soupy salsa" to compare with what we previously had

You can see a replica of their camp at the Florida Oceanographic Coastal Center and there is mention of them in the many parks in the area. Stuart is located on Florida's Treasure Coast, named for the several Spanish Galleons that wrecked off the coast in the 18th century. A pirate named Pedro Gilbert used a sand bar off the coast to lure ships to their doom. Today there is a coffee shop named for his treachery, Gilberts Bar. In 1860 pioneers settled the area and a United States Life Saving Station called Gilbert's Bar House of Refuge was built in 1875. It is the only House of Refuge left and you can still visit it today. The city of Stuart is named for Homer Hine Stuart Jr.. Born in New York in 1855, he settled near the north side St. Lucie River in 1883 and began to grow pineapples. At the time the city was known as Potsdam, a name chosen by local landowner Otto Stypmann from Germany. Settlers started coming in to the area in the 1870's and all supplies were floated down the St. Lucie River on trade boats. When the East Coast Railway came into town it was offensively called out as Dam Pots. To diffuse the situation the name of the town was changed to Stuart in 1895. Stuart was incorporated as a town in 1914. At that time it was part of Palm Beach County. In 1925 it became the seat of Martin County. The city of Stuart is called the Sailfish capital of the world. It was a favorite fishing spot of 5 U. S. Presidents, Grover Cleveland, Chester A. Arthur, Theodore Roosevelt, Howard Taft, and Warren G. Harding. You can learn much more about the history of Stuart at the Elliot Museum and the Stuart Heritage Museum. Today tourists flock to the historic downtown where there are quaint shops and cafes. Every Sunday morning there is a farmers market along the waterfront. The Lyric Theater built in 1926, is a historic building in the downtown that is still in operation today. I love visiting Stuart. It is one of the oldest towns in Florida near me. Visiting the friendly people in Stuart is so relaxing. I love walking around the historic downtown where there are interesting things to buy and great things to eat. In the area there is an abundance of nature preserves and parks to hike and kayak in. The beaches of Hutchinson Island are gorgeous and not crowded. I have visited Stuart several times and still have not seen everything. Outdoor sports, dining, shopping, and history, Stuart has it all in one inviting package.
