This is an honest and reliable mechanic!! I wish I would've found them before I wasted $1500 at the dealership... When the dealership failed to fix the real issue with my car that was causing it to fail the state inspection, I got on the internet started looking for a repair shop that would help me out. That's when I came across Heights Auto Repair! I read a few reviews and they were all positive, talking about how honest and fair their pricing is, so I decided to give them a shot. Best. Decision. EVER! Not only did they fix the original issue I had, they also fixed the issue with my AC (a necessity in this Texas heat!). They definitely were very fairly priced and I am happy to say that my car PASSED inspection with no issues!!! Since then, I've also taken my husband's car to this shop for repairs, the first time being after we got a ridiculously high quote elsewhere. We did some research and found that THIS shop was charging us fairly while the other one was trying to overcharge us. Lastly, I'd like to point out that they get the work done FAST! Usually only a day or two that we've had to leave the car with them. Thankfully we have two vehicles, but this kind of fast service is very important for those who aren't fortunate enough to have a backup vehicle available. Been going there for several years and they are always fair and honest with their work. I'd recommend them to anyone who wants an honest and dependable mechanic. Couple of items which I believe accentuates why I recommend them: 1) 2024 - I had to have major work done on my car and had a bit of sticker shock regarding the quote. My brother in law is a mechanic so I ran it by him. He replied that it was a very good quote considering the amount of work needed to be done. 2) 2025 - Retuned as there appeared to be a lingering issue with the car which appeared to be related to work done a year ago. It was all repaired and replaced without hesitation from them. Other shops may try and get away with something but they fixed the issue. read more

I've been taking my 2024 Honda here for years. They were able to help me years ago when my catalytic converter was stolen, I appreciated them letting me drop my car off right before they close. These people are so kind!! They allowed me to drop my car off at 8pm on a Monday night. (Even though they close at 7) They gave me a diagnosis for only $50 and while I decided to sell my car instead of have work done, they allowed me to keep my car there for a few days until I could arrange another tow. Seems like a decently run local mechanic. They are responsive to the phone and I was able to talk to someone each time that I called. They also use a digital, thru SMS, system of sending quotes and notifications that the job is done. So it was really easy and transparent to get work done! I was also able to call them when they opened on a Saturday, get it towed to their shop, and they got started diagnosing after I left cause they were a bit shorthanded that day. I picked it up a 1 day after the holiday (3 day) weekend. When I picked it up, I could see they protected the interior with plastic on the seat and paper on the floormats. For reference, I had a dead starter motor in a Honda and the quote seemed fair. On par with what it costs online and all in all it was not as expensive as I thought it would be. I'd probably come back for other issues if I was in the area. read more

My review is similar to Rhonda P.'s situation. Beware of this mechanic. I brought my 2013 Ford Fusion to Heights Auto Repair with specific concerns about my car's transmission. I stated i had problems with acceleration, unusual noises, and the vehicle stalling. Instead of addressing the transmission, the shop replaced the engine mount, valve cover gasket, engine oil pan gasket, and engine oil cooler gasket, totaling $1794.65. Not only were these parts replaced just two years ago at a dealership, but they also failed to resolve the critical issues I originally reported. I am not experienced in car repair but have some knowledge in cars and believed that as the experts they knew of something that I did not. Upon picking up my car, I immediately noticed the original problems persisted. Despite this, I was advised that the issues were a "fluke" and would resolve by driving more. This was not the case, and the car exhibited the same transmission symptoms within a block of driving away from the shop. Despite my concerns about safety and the car's functionality, I was initially told to just take the car home. After insisting on further examination, the shop accepted to look at my car again and finally acknowledged a transmission issue but then informed me they do not handle transmission repairs and referred me to a contractor. They offered a discounted repair rate, but given the lack of initial diagnostic accuracy and their insistence on unnecessary repairs, my confidence in their service was deeply shaken. My initial request to pay for the parts since they were in my car already and refund my full labor cost was denied. instead, I was offered a partial refund of $1,000 out of the $1212.25 labor cost, not as an acknowledgment of the oversight but rather as a disguised of fair compensation for work done, which was both unnecessary and unrelated to the transmission problem I had from the start. This was my first time working with this business and unfortunately, my experience has been less than positive by misdiagnosis, poor communication, and a lack of proper customer service resolution. I recommend you take your vehicles to other mechanics or getting a second opinion from other mechanics due to their inability to correctly identify and resolve significant vehicle issues and their inadequate response to legitimate customer safety concerns. read more

I came here for a coolant leakage. They immediately proactive and told me to drive up to the driveway & looked at my car . They told me exactly what was wrong with my car & broke down for me pieces . The girl in the front also told me what parts needed to be replace & how much the labor would cost. She gave me the option to deny in some of the parts & labor work. Overall they were all very nice ! Everyone is polite. I'm frustrated for a couple of reasons. 1. Received a quote and approved it, only to have the price changed without a reason or explanation. 2. I received the car with trash inside. It seems that maybe the wrapping materials from the replaced part? The paper mat still in there, the tags on the keys and the tag on mirror. Even when I get my oil changed the front was vacuumed, now I know not everyone does this but I should not need to empty out so much trash specially for the 1k plus I paid for repairs without even being informed of the price chance. I know there is a lot of good reviews here, but my experience is more consistent with the negative reviews. The electric power steering went out in my vehicle. I had my vehicle towed there. They said they would get to my vehicle by the end of the next day. That didn't happen. By the end of the of the 3rd day, they told us it was the electric power steering module that had to be replaced. They replaced it. Day 5 they call back and say that replacing the module didn't fix the issue and it was the entire rack and pinion assembly that needed to be replaced now. 4 days and $2K later, they say my car is ready. 2 things I notice - the odometer is blinking and the car has a shimmy at low speed turns under 10 mph. Two problems my vehicle did not have prior to taking it in. I ask them about it. They say the vehicle computer has to relearn and reprogram itself and those issues should go away in a couple days. It seemed a little fishy to me because I've never heard of such a thing, but I'm not a mechanic so I decided to give it a couple of days. The issues didn't go away. I spoke to another mechanic about these issues a couple of days later and was told that the odometer shouldn't be blinking like that and the car shouldn't have a shimmy. Those problems don't just go away after a couple of days. Additional repairs would be necessary and cost another $2K. My vehicle was never the same after taking it there. Their customer follow up was not the best either. They never called when they said they would and we always had to follow up. I really wanted to like this place because of the good reviews and it being a family owned business, but I will not bring my vehicle or any other vehicle to them ever again. My vehicle did have a lot of complex issues, so I think if you just need a simple repair or an oil change, this place is okay. They also have reasonable pricing. That being said, I would not bring my vehicle here for a major repair. read more

I took my car in for a quick oil change and on my drive home I heard a scrapping/dragging sound. Upon inspection we notice the entire front of the skidplate was loose and had been dragging. When I took it back they said they noticed it had been missing screws (never said anything) and the fix was them drilling about 6 NEW holes into my car to hold the skidplate in place. Never apologized or gave my money back nothing. I wanted to love the place bc it's family owned but no, bad experience and service. read more

Ok, I have to say that Alfredo and Sylvia really followed up and made sure I was happy. They are very honest people, which is difficult to find in the auto repair world. After hearing my stories about being dissatisfied they gave me a free headlight and oil change, apologized and explained the difficulties that they were having at the time when I felt that customer service was lacking. Sylvia is very sweet and knowledgable, they are a great family oriented business. Because of their honestly and caring about my car after hearing that I was not happy with my first experience, they more than made up for it and I consider it a gift that I now have a great relationship with an Auto repair shop that I will be going back to for all my needs. For the past 4 days I took my car to several auto shops and Heights Auto Repair was the only one that took care of my immediate need. I had a front left headlight go out and didn't realize how many hurdles I had to go over before coming here. They were quick to assess that the bulb was out, suggested I purchase the bulb at a auto parts store down the street . Went to get an oil leak fixed and was diagnosed as a problem with the oil pan. I was told a new oil pan was ordered and installed but come to find out, after taking it to another shop, it was not and it was not the problem at all. So not only did they lie about replacing the oil pan, they also misdiagnosed the original oil leak. Absolutely awful job all around. Once the other shop is finished with my truck, I will be coming back for a refund and questions as to why I was lied about the oil pan being replaced. read more

My engine flooded back in July during one of the storms. I took my car in and they replaced the engine in under a week. Had to take it back a week later because we found some water had damaged some more electrical components and they quickly handled that as well. I have not had a single problem with the car or the engine since and they gave me a short term warranty just in case I continued having problems. Super reliable, never over charge and always give you a quote before they start any work on the car. It is hard to find a good mechanic in Houston but Alfredo is very reliable and treats his returning customers well. I have gone back to get my oil changed and breaks checked a couple of times since. Over all I would say I would return for minor issues with my vehicle as well as bigger problems. This mechanic shop adds great value to our community and deserves to be recognized for it. I believe if more businesses treated their customers as good as this one does we would be in a much better place in our economy. read more

However, with the quality of service, speed, and repair quality of Heights Auto Repair, I've found a new home for my family's two cars. Specifically my engine light came on during my drive home from work, they accepted the vehicle the next morning and had it fully repaired the day after. On top of that the owner worked very hard negotiating with suppliers and ultimately the project came in below the original quote.
