Beautiful location with some amazing views of the ocean and docks where huge boats come for the day. Very welcoming hostesses who will direct you wherever you are going, food, stay, meeting. We were here for a work dinner and the steak was great, side dishes great but salad with too much dressing, maybe ask for the dressing on the side. Staff very accomodating. Easy parking. Can't really comment on the prices since someone else was paying! Steak was a 4 star but the location and ambience made it a 5 star experience. read more

Been coming to Cape Fox Lodge for over five years, and the Heen Kahidi restaurant has never been better. Whatever changed since last year was perfect. The food was hands down the best we've ever had here. The breakfast, especially the biscuits and gravy, was amazing. Highly recommend! read more

Breakfast with a view! The lodge itself is amazing and this restaurant definitely has a lodge like vibe to it. The view of downtown Ketchikan while eating your meal is exceptionally wonderful. We had brunch so we arrived after the breakfast rush which was nice, because we got to choose what table we wanted. The food was great and they don't skimp out on the portions! Bacon was cooked pretty well done and lots of fluffy eggs. French toast was good, just warm and not hot. The kids chocolate chip pancakes were huge and had lots of yummy chocolate chips :) Only downfall and why I'm giving a 4 star rating is because the service was slow and the food came out warm. read more

We arrived shortly after 8 this morning for breakfast, after eating cruise ship food I wanted a good hearty meal. Let's start off by saying there was no one to greet us a server eventually spotted us. Wasn't clear on seat yours3lf or wait to be seated. After being seated it took almost 15 minutes to order with only 2 other families already seated. I asked for French toast and she says. "OH, I think we're out of that." And that was it. Not let me go check with the cook nothing. Ended up ordering pancakes and bacon. Pancakes tasted as if the batter wasn't mixed all the way and the bacon had been cooked days before. By the end our waitress had 3 tables and it took another 15 min to cash out & that was after me finding another waitress to cash us out. The only thing great about this restaurant is the view & the native American art surrounding the lobby. read more

Came for dinner looking for a place that served salmon entrees. Got a nice table by the windows to enjoy the views of the harbor. Outstanding service from Spencer. Shared a salmon entree that came with two sides. We got salads for our sides and also broccolini. Salads were very good; however, even though we ordered salmon to be cooked rare it came fully done and then some. Very dry and fishy tasting. They took some off the bill but dinner disappointing. Did see a bald eagle flying around outside of our window. Took funicular back down to our place in Creek Street which was convenient. read more

Terrible. The beer that was served had been poured out of a draft with stale lines. We ordered king crab and it was awful. As you can see from the pictures it looked as though it had been heated over and over again. The shell was soft and the crab was spongy looking. We are from South East Alaska and this is horrid. The food here was good and was a nice break for the touristy part of the port while still being walkable from the port. You could tell this spot was a cozy hotel lodge for local guests. The food was tasty and the service was great! Price was on point with an average US city. Definitely worth a try. read more

We are staying at the wonderful Cape Fox Lodge in Ketchikan and this is the restaurant inside the lodge. Sometimes hotel restaurants are just ok but that is not the case here. The food is very very good. We ordered a omelet and a skillet breakfast. Our breakfast was perfect as is our stay at the Lodge. Everything was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this restaurant for all your meals. Don't leave without eating here. read more

We found this place by accident. Cell service wasn't good, so no Yelp. We just got off the cruise ship and was looking for a place to grab breakfast. This place has free WiFi which was awesome! I got the Lodge Breakfast with bacon. Everything was done the way I ordered it. Eggs were perfect, crisp bacon, excellent hash browns, and a nice biscuit. I also got the French Toast to try and it was fabulous. Perfect pieces with nice golden brown perfection of cinnamon. The waitress was nice and did a great job. This place gets one star for poor customer service from our unfriendly waitress who looked like she didn't like her job and it utterly showed." We sat there and patiently waited 25 minutes without any acknowledgement, at least to say sorry , I'll be right with you. They say if you have nothing nice to say then don't say it., so this will be short and direct. Well the black stuff on my shrimp was questionable , waitress says the cook didn't devein the shrimp! That said I didn't eat the rest of my dinner and was just shocked from the way we were treated. It was 4th of July weekend, perhaps the regular crew was out salmon fishing. I have mixed review w this place. Staff friendliness 5 stars (they're all great) Price: 3 stars. a bit pricey (but everything in Ketchikan is) Food quality: 3 stars. They're not bad, but not great either. I stuck w seafood and hoped to be wowed. The quantity was good but the spices or toppings added to the seafood kind of was too much. Serving portion: 4 stars. Good amount for appy or dinner. Drinks selections are great! Ambiance: 5 stars! Great view!!! There isn't a lot of places to have a nice sit down in Ketchikan, this place is a great! Great view, even better food. We were cruising through Ketchikan and wanted to find a good restaurant for lunch so we saw Heen Kahidi and decided to give it a try. Fish and Chips were great and the banana dessert was rich and delicious. Cape Fox doesn't have the funicular up right now but they said they hope to by the end of the year and next time we come to Ketchikan, we will visit again and ride the funicular up. For a place inside a hotel in Ketchikan this place is actually quite a good choice if it is late or you are otherwise too tired to roam about town. The shellfish buckets are quite awesome but they were unfortunately balanced out with a halibut main course that was a little over cooked. read more

Located in the Cape Fox Lodge. Requires a drive or walk up the hill, or you can take the Funicular from Creek Street, a nice quick tram ride with great views of the town and water. The place is off the beaten tourist path, so it was not crazy busy and it was nice to eat outside of the madness downtown with the cruise ships. Information online is spotty and outdated, so we did not find this place until just before our visit. Glad we did. Great views from the windows in the dining room, make sure you get a table with a view - we even saw two bald eagles flying around the trees and perching up while we ate. Had a nice selection of local beers, and some unique menu items. The smoked salmon avocado tower was unique and very delicious. The seafood chowder in bread bowl is the perfect started on a rainy day, though it could have used a little more seasoning and a little lighter on the cream, but overall pretty good. read more

The salmon fish and chips with a cup of clam chowder was worth the $6..00 tram ride to the restaurant. I never had salmon fish and chips before. I'm a fan now. So much more flavor than traditional fish and chips. Get their specialty string fries. The clam chowder was loaded with flavor. I would rank it up there with my top 3 favorites. On the expensive side, but what isn't in this seasonal tourist town. My wife had a salmon dish that was just okay. She ended up eating one of my fish. Service was friendly and quick. read more

Had an amazing dinner here. Brie and crab dip was delicious, while the pretzel app was served piping hot and fresh. For dinner, we had a gruyere Halibut dish, and a Halibut cheeks with a Lemon Beurre Blanc sauce. Both were perfectly cooked, and the beurre Blanc sauce was awesome. Appetizer soups of salmon chowder and reindeer chilli were also perfect. Would come back again next time we're in town. read more
