After much research and comparisons with other companies we chose Greenleaf Tree for our project…read moreand what good luck it was that we did. The suggestions made by the owner, Paul Hutto, made a lot of sense and seemed more appropriate than plans put forward by some other companies. His prices were so much more reasonable compared to other quotes we wondered if the job would be done as thoroughly as we wanted. But we need not have worried."Thorough" is exactly Greenleaf's approach. The team was impressively professional and so well organized everyone was FAST. The team used two high-end pieces of equipment: a bucket truck and a chipper. The chipper made big branches just vanish. I know our job was a small one compared to what they are capable of but it was a big deal to us and we are much more comfortable now that some large overhanging branches are gone. The plans were mindful of the well-being of the tree in question, a large Spanish Willow Oak which is mature and healthy but with a tendency to drop heavy limbs. Some branches had crossed others so in windy conditions they would rub and cause damage. The tree is more balanced and therefore steadier after Greenleaf's treatment. We didn't consider it good luck that a strong storm blew down a bunch of branches the night before our Greenleaf appointment but they took on this additional work just like the rest of the project although the damage was not strictly included in the estimate. This typified the Greenleaf approach: above and way beyond what we expected them to accomplish. Here's an example of the care taken: if a branch threatened to fall on anything on the property that might be damaged, the team used a sort of rope and winch to ease the limb safely down to the ground with no harm done. When the team left after the job was done, you couldn't even tell that they had been here - except the place looked better than it did when they got here. After much research and comparisons with other companies we chose Greenleaf Tree for our project and what good luck it was that we did. There's no option to give a zero stars or I would. I really I am pretty baffled at this whole…read morescenario. I hired Tom to do my lawn care in June 2019. I paid him faithfully every two weeks up until October 2020 to mow my grass in the spring and summer and to blow my leaves in the fall. (He even mowed for free for two weeks in April of last year during Covid because I am an emergency medicine PA/essential first line worker. That actually touched my heart and I even bragged about him doing such a kind thing.) Suddenly in October he ceased coming. I text messaged him multiple times and called to get no answer. I even messaged him through Venmo. I was actually worried that something may have happened to him or he could've gotten Covid and that could have been the reason he just never came back and never returned my calls. He to this day has not called or messaged me back. His business Instagram shows that he's posted recently so I decided to try messaging him that way. The uploaded screenshots show that he read my message but clearly was unprofessional and did not bother to respond. This is not the way to do business. I will surely make sure that I let anyone that may be interested in using him know about this. Very unprofessional and very disappointing.

We were very nervous about the trees, and called a couple of tree services out to give us their opinion as to what trees needed to be removed. Both services recommended removing all of the trees as they were too close to the house and all had branches hanging over or endangering the home. We chose Orleans Co Tree Service because they are not landscapers that also do trees, they are a liscensed, insured, dedicated tree service with certified arborists. Their pricing was excellent, and the bid was total, any taxes, fees, etc, were included in the price. Additionally, they took away all the wood, cleaned up any limbs and leaves, and ground all of the stumps. They had 10 trees down, including 125' pine, a 59+ foot rotting maple, and the 4 dangerous to cut dead trees, stumps ground, and detritus cleaned up, in 5 hours. Amazing!

Got an estimate in April but they didn't come out until August. I was initially quoted $8k to…read moreremove 5 trees, trim up branches on 3 other trees and to grind up and remove the 5 stumps. The mailed estimate however was $14,000.00 and some change. They took down the trees and said someone else would remove the cut down trees and grind up and remove the stumps. The stump grinder came and said that he was only going to do 4 of the 5 stumps and I could pick out which ones. I called the company and told them that this wasn't the deal so th sent out their team again. I showed them that they didn't finish the tree trimming and ivy removal on a tree in the back yard. They said they needed a lift to do it and would be back but did grind the final stump. When the team came out to finish the tree in the back, that team said they weren't going to work for free and had the office call me and tell me there was an additional $600 charge to trim one additional branch that they had forgotten. I paid the almost $15k and told the office that the French Drain in my backyard was not working after they dropped 2 trees on top of it and I was told that the owner (Steve, the 5 star review on here), would come look at the French Drain. He never came but sent out the bill for the additional $600. So my estimate of $8,000 went up to $15,000.00 and I've got to find a contractor to repair what they crushed (the French Drain) and still haven't seen anyone from C S Flournoy to even look at what was damaged and what wasn't done. I had to remove the ivy from my trees myself even though that was part of the initial estimate. The secondary tree trimmers have left huge tire tracks across my front yard bc they didn't want to backup from the street.
