Our yard has over 25 mature trees in it. We love the trees but we knew some of them were declining. We selected Truetimber because we liked the idea of arborists advising us rather than a generic tree service. I could not have asked for a better experience. James came out and walked the property with me. I told him we wanted to save as many trees as possible but were absolutely willing to take out anything that was sick or potentially dangerous. With that kind of latitude I assumed he would tell me 10 or so trees would probably need to come out. That was not the case. He said one old pin oak needed to go (we knew that, it has dropped major limbs several times.) He also pointed out four Red Tip Photinias that were dying (Again, we knew this.) Beyond this he didn't recommend any further removals but did note several trees in bad need of pruning for safety reasons. The quote came in about three days and was very reasonable. The work was scheduled for 8 weeks out. The crew showed up and was polite, professional, and thorough. They cleaned up everything and finished it all in a day. The stump of the pin oak was ground down 4 days later, ahead of schedule. The bill came in exactly at the estimate. A+++ Credit cards and debit cards accepted with a 3% fee attached. read more

I give Truetimber my highest recommendation. Truetimber Arborists has taken care of the trees in my yard twice. I would recommend them to anyone who wants great tree-work done. In addition to the terrific work, their prices are fair and will probably make you smile for the work you need done. It is now time to trim some mighty tall trees in my yard, so I called Peter Girardi, Client Solutions Manager at TT. He served in the Army, got a degree from Virginia Teach in Forestry and Wildlife, and he loves nature. All you have to do is talk to him to find that out. When it comes to trees, Peter's first concern is to not damage trees or unnecessarily remove them. He can tell you "the why" behind every suggestion he makes. I've had several crew members working above my yard. All are professional and personable and give a show to watch when they climb trees and do their work. I scheduled some pruning of dead limbs high up in the trees for the week my grandchildren are here because they will enjoy watching acrobatics above our yard and the work being done. These guys are professionals. We had two trees removed - A large oak and a large Gum tree behind our house. I think 4.5 is a fair rating for this group. Staff: - Administrative staff are very responsive. Mike came by and took a look at the trees and sent me the quote which I accepted. I was subsequently contacted by his scheduler who got my project booked about 4 weeks out. Everything including expectations, payment and services were clearly discussed. Emily was very friendly and answered all my questions. - Tree team came out at the designated day and got to work in removing everything. It took them 2 days to take both trees down, both of which were felled on a day where it was off and on rain. They accommodated my requests to have some sections of the oak left behind so that I could use it on some woodworking projects which was great of them. The team was also very nice and communicative during the entire process - Stump Grinder was also very friendly and took care of 3 stumps in my yard without a hitch. Very fast and educational. Overall team was very good. Pricing was somewhat high. I had 3 quotes for the same work, with the two other quotes coming in lower - one by $600 cheaper and the other by $300 cheaper. I decided to to with Truetimber because my neighbor is an Arborist and he recommended them to me due to their quality of work. The reason why I'd knock down half a star is because at the end of the tree removal they left all my lawn stuff where they moved it in order to fell the trees. It's a small thing for me to move my grill, lawn chairs, fire pit and all the other stuff they moved back to where they were prior to starting, but it would've been nice for them to do it since they moved it. I can't say enough good things about Truetimber and their staff. They came out in freezing weather to deal with removal of a tree that had crushed the end of my house within 24 hours of my making the call. I don't know what other services would have charged and don't care. Knowing that they will do the job in a polite, friendly, efficient and timely manner is enough for me. There are so many options for tree removal. You can go with the guy who leaves his card in your mailbox, go with recommendations from a friend or seek out true professionals like the folks at Truetimber. We had contacted someone recommended to us by friends. He came and did an initial estimate that included several trees. It was more than we were prepared to spend at the time and we negotiated a price for removing the tree that was in most danger of causing severe damage. After months of back and forth texts and calls to set a date, we just gave up and called Truetimber and we are glad we did. These folks were responsive, professional and upfront about every aspect of the tree removal. Their price was a little higher than the other guy, but we knew we were in excellent hands and were willing to pay more for it. Once they got into the job, they realized that they would need a crane to take the tree down. They arranged everything, and informed us that it would be an additional cost. The job was more than what we planned on spending, but the level of service we received was well-worth it. The crew was friendly, professional and they cleaned up every speck of sawdust in the yard. I could not be happier with this company. I chose them to get some deadwood out of trees in my yard because of their qualifications, which are listed on their site, and the clear expertise of the gentleman who came out to do a free estimate for the work. Despite being originally quoted a two or three week waiting-list, I received a phone call literally three hours after the estimate was done, saying they'd finished a job early in the area and asking if I wanted them to come early. Hired to remove two dead trees. These guys were amazing, and it was a privilege watching them work. They are true professionals who know and love what they do, and it shows. I originally went with the "cheap" company, who showed up with a rusty bucket truck, tore up my lawn trying to get it up my hill and failed to do so, cut out a bush that would have been in his way and left without even touching a tree. The TrueTimber team was extremely efficient, used the other trees and surrounding environment to their advantage, and climbed to remove the trees with care and precision. Met with Peter to go over what I wanted done, recieved a price with a drawing of what work was being done. I got several estimates and theirs was in the middle. The cheapest tree company never wrote a thing down and did not return my first phone call. Very proffesional workers, always called before showing up (my work was done in stages due to weather and being away). My next door neighbor was so impressed with how they handled the trees in my front yard (crane work involved) that they decided to have 3 large pines removed which was done that day while the crane was available. They handle everything, crane, log removal, and stump grinding, all on one estimate.
