We were very nervous about the trees, and called a couple of tree services out to give us their opinion as to what trees needed to be removed. Both services recommended removing all of the trees as they were too close to the house and all had branches hanging over or endangering the home. We chose Orleans Co Tree Service because they are not landscapers that also do trees, they are a liscensed, insured, dedicated tree service with certified arborists. Their pricing was excellent, and the bid was total, any taxes, fees,etc, were included in the price. Additionally, they took away all the wood, cleaned up any limbs and leaves, and ground all of the stumps. They had 10 trees down, including 125' pine, a 59+ foot rotting maple, and the 4 dangerous to cut dead trees, stumps ground, and detritus cleaned up, in 5 hours. Amazing!

The planning process between quotes and getting on the schedule took longer than was originally discussed (that's fine, I get it). When I asked for a quote/contract with the price and a COI, I was told it wouldn't be an issue, but never received either. We still communicated up to the day before the work was to be done. My wife and I both took the day off from work that day to be on the property when the job was being performed. Morning of, they didn't show, when I called and texted asking if we were still on for the day, the response I received was vague, that they had an equipment issue, but no word on whether the job was still going to be able to done, or if it needed to be rescheduled. I never heard from them again, that day or after. This was after repeated attempts to get into contact with them that day and the week after (calling and text). Approximately a week and a half after we were ghosted, a major portion of the tree did split and fell into our neighborhood across a road (no one hurt thankfully). Thanks Old Dominion Tree Company. I don't care about wasting my time, but you genuinely put others at risk of injury or worse. Enjoy your bad karma.

Jeremiah and his crew got to work right away, even though they had just driven up from the Richmond area. They were very respectful of me, my property, and my neighbor's property as well. They communicate every step of the way. Tim must have a PHd in trees, (whatever that is called), because he can tell a person more about trees than we normal humans need for a lifetime. Smart dude. I had friended him on social media, as we had friends in common and he had just patronized the shop I work at. On a Sunday, I messaged him since I didn't have his number, when he could come by and provide some estimates. He showed up at my door within minutes. My wife and I were immediately impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. He wasn't pushy at all, and the estimate was beyond competitive and reasonable.
