Very Disappointing Experience -- Lack of Professionalism and Care…read more There are too many negative things to mention, but I'll start with the front desk. The receptionist is consistently rude, and the music in the lobby is so loud that it's difficult to hear or communicate. It feels very unprofessional, especially with the TV also playing information about procedures and products -- the two competing noises make the environment unpleasant. Every time I've come in, the music seems even louder. When I first saw the doctor, he mentioned that the VA sends too much information to read through, which was concerning. I explained my symptoms, and he told me to come back for injections. A few days later, I returned and was given two injections -- but it turns out they were done in the wrong area, as confirmed by my VA doctor after reviewing the referral and MRI. The VA doctor clarified that the injections I received were not what he had referred me for. When I brought the correct documentation back to Apollo Pain Management, the doctor seemed visibly irritated. During that visit, he performed the requested injections but did not use lidocaine or any numbing agent beforehand. His demeanor made me feel as if I had done something wrong, which added unnecessary stress to an already painful situation. At my follow-up visit, the experience was much the same -- rude front desk staff, loud music, and a doctor who did not review my MRI or referral. When I mentioned that I didn't get the expected relief, he implied it was my fault and refused to perform further injections in the areas requested by my referring doctor. I will not be returning to this location. The environment is unwelcoming, and if the physician cannot take the time to review a referral or MRI, it's hard to trust the quality of care being provided. On a positive note, the PA and the male nurse were both very professional, courteous, and caring. They were the only bright spots in this entire experience.

When I saw the surgeon on Monday, August 8, he was extremely pleased with the progress I had made, saying that I was considerably ahead of where he expected I would be at this point after surgery. I went for about three months and was never assigned to an actual therapist. The only way you know who is actually a professional licensed physical therapist with a master's degree versus a PT aide with a diploma from a vo-tech is if you snag each of their business cards. Name tags are not on display. Names not really offered. Also, a home exercise plan wasn't offered because, well, I didn't have an assigned therapist. I am positive that that a generic exercise plan or maybe no plan at all was enacted. They tried to get me to extend it and again I am sure they saw I had PT visits left for the year and they were hoping to extend into the next year. I did the same exercises without progressing to harder, longer ones. I also was not reevaluated to determine if I had achieved needed more therapy. They just told me to sign up for more. When I left, I had no idea if I could walk up stairs, if my balance had improved, how far I could walk my dog, nothing. I was a fool to keep going. You can actually go to any PT practice you want to go to no matter where you may have been referred to as long as you have a Dr referral and have a means to pay.

Wife and I were involved in a vehicle crash. I had a strained shoulder, she had two broken ribs…read more TGH Urgent Care referred us to Impact Medical. They did nothing for my wife. Why she was referred to them, their specialty being Chiropractic was beyond me. She doesn't need a Chiropractor! Instead they set her up with a Physical Therapist who didn't do anything other than a zoom appointment. My wife was supposed to get a work note but they dropped the ball on that as well. She really someone with an MD, DO, NP title after their name. I had follow-ups for pain management. All that was done was electric shock (tens therapy) and Shockwave treatment. On my last appointment the Chiropractor was supposed to meet with me after the appointment to determine followup care but said he couldn't because the owners showed up and he needed to meet with them. It's not the Chiropractors fault, but I blame the owners for not scheduling around his patients. They needed to put patients first before business meetings. They even brought the owners into the treatment area where the patients were so they can see the therapy being done. That left a bad taste in my mouth and I let the Chiropractor know. The workers doing the therapy aren't licensed by any medical institutions or have any medical certificates. They simply are working under the "supervision of the Chiropractor". Those workers are the real worker bees however. The practice seems to be a fly by night organization with not a lot of management support. To me it seems like they are just a money-hungry organization and only care about making more appointments so they can bill the insurance carriers. I would not go back. If there was a "next time", perhaps another treatment center would be more appropriate.

They would screw appointments...their tech/nurse was constantly, openly rude to me...they didn't care. There were SEVERAL instances of their unbelievable behavior...here is one from my letter of complaint to John Couris, president of Tampa General Hospital: "I will NEVER understand why you and your staff treated me the way you did. I did NOTHING wrong...I am happy to share what happened to me in reviews. I went to their clinic in Sun City Center...and that turned out to be a massive nightmare. I'm 65 right now and have never...NEVER met people as inept and rude as the staff that runs this place. It is almost funny it is so bad...but when you are on the receiving end of their nastiness...it is really ugly. Here is just ONE event I endured with these people. 1) My appointment with Dr. Lamielle was for 1 PM 2) I arrived at 12:45, checked-in, told to take a seat (usual stuff) 3) Soon, it is after 2PM so I walk up to the next open window to ask how much longer. 4) The girl says to me "Oh! You are really late!!" 5) I said no, I had been waiting since 12:45. 6) This office manager walks up and points out where I had indeed been checked in. 7) The girl said I missed my appointment but could come back in 6 weeks. (No, I am not kidding...they both told me that.) I was so angry, I just walked away but not before I asked how on earth could I have missed my appointment when I was there, on time and waiting. She told me the doctor did not have time to see me now, but I could come back in 6 weeks. UNBELIEVABLE!!!" To add to this lunacy, the doctor actually called me at home, a few days later, at 9PM at night (yep, that late at night) and told me he actually wasn't even in the clinic that day. So...ummmmm...wait a minute here! What the hell is going on? You lied? They lied? Why was I asked to even be there!?!?!? Hopefully, this clinic will shut down or, learn how to deal with patients in an appropriate manner instead of doing what they did to me. They are unprofessional, rude, and clearly incompetent. Sadly, this is the "Shared Purpose Statement" for Tampa General Hospital We heal. We teach. We innovate. Care for everyone. Every day. ...that certainly was NOT my experience with TGMG.
