When Dr…read more Khant did not show for the procedure, the nurse called to find out that Dr. Khant was ".......on vacation and was not coming in for the catheterization." Since the phone calls were being made within eye and ear shot of me, it was revealed that the staff did not know the doctor was on vacation and not coming in. Without any advance notice, and with me prepped for the cath, the nurse was told to get another doctor to do the catheterization. Since a severe accident, I have significant bodily injury that leaves me as a chronic pain patient, in addition to my heart concerns. Dr. Khant not only ignored his responsibilities for being present for my procedure and/or arrange IN ADVANCE for his replacement, but he put me in the position to be delayed for several hours. This delay caused me to be confined to a gurney without proper pain management. Not only was my procedure delayed several hours and was now being conducted by a doctor that I knew nothing about, but I was denied pain management that sustained at a level of 9/10. Through tears, I was repeatedly denied help under the promises that "we are cleaning up and prepping the room for you. It'll only be about 10 minutes." I was told the same thing for hours. Although the testing process conducted at their SCC office, was professional and efficient, every other aspect of their office is much less that a patient would expect. No matter the time of day or the person you're trying to reach, the office phones are NEVER answered and I have not received any call backs from messages I've left on their voicemail. I tried reaching them for several hours today, to ask a question regarding the catheterization I had 3 days ago. I could not get a person on the phone until someone called me for an appointment reminder. I got a call to remind me of my next appointment, but no contact regarding my question regarding my heart procedure. It appears to me that their priority is to get you in the door but not to continue treatment of their patients. This lack of contact is very unnerving when you're dealing with a heart doctor and you've just undergone a heart procedure. I will be keeping my follow up appointment and then I'll be moving on.

The physicians are excellent. However, getting in touch to follow up with doctors orders is next to…read moreimpossible. I returned the phone call to their office and got the message "Please hold you are number 2 in the queue". I held for 15 minutes went to number 1 in the queue, and the next message said you are now number 3 in the queue.. absolutely frustrating! I trust the doctors know about this frustrating experience patients have! in the meantime, I may be dead before they get back to me!

They would screw appointments...their tech/nurse was constantly, openly rude to me...they didn't care. There were SEVERAL instances of their unbelievable behavior...here is one from my letter of complaint to John Couris, president of Tampa General Hospital: "I will NEVER understand why you and your staff treated me the way you did. I did NOTHING wrong...I am happy to share what happened to me in reviews. I went to their clinic in Sun City Center...and that turned out to be a massive nightmare. I'm 65 right now and have never...NEVER met people as inept and rude as the staff that runs this place. It is almost funny it is so bad...but when you are on the receiving end of their nastiness...it is really ugly. Here is just ONE event I endured with these people. 1) My appointment with Dr. Lamielle was for 1 PM 2) I arrived at 12:45, checked-in, told to take a seat (usual stuff) 3) Soon, it is after 2PM so I walk up to the next open window to ask how much longer. 4) The girl says to me "Oh! You are really late!!" 5) I said no, I had been waiting since 12:45. 6) This office manager walks up and points out where I had indeed been checked in. 7) The girl said I missed my appointment but could come back in 6 weeks. (No, I am not kidding...they both told me that.) I was so angry, I just walked away but not before I asked how on earth could I have missed my appointment when I was there, on time and waiting. She told me the doctor did not have time to see me now, but I could come back in 6 weeks. UNBELIEVABLE!!!" To add to this lunacy, the doctor actually called me at home, a few days later, at 9PM at night (yep, that late at night) and told me he actually wasn't even in the clinic that day. So...ummmmm...wait a minute here! What the hell is going on? You lied? They lied? Why was I asked to even be there!?!?!? Hopefully, this clinic will shut down or, learn how to deal with patients in an appropriate manner instead of doing what they did to me. They are unprofessional, rude, and clearly incompetent. Sadly, this is the "Shared Purpose Statement" for Tampa General Hospital We heal. We teach. We innovate. Care for everyone. Every day. ...that certainly was NOT my experience with TGMG.

I had two follow up appointment with Dr. Khant for a review of my Echocardiogram. My last appointment to review it was for Thursday, October 5, 2023. On October 3, 2023 at 3'32 I received a voice message to call the office to again reschedule with Dr. Khant. I tried for 2 hours on 10/03/23 to get through on their only scheduling phone number of 813-684-6000 which is a joke. after wait for 2 hours I was hung up from Bay Area. When I called back after telling me for 1 hour I was #1 in the que it hung up after calling back again the same phone numer above said that " the message box was full and to call later. Toda, October 4th I called at 9;30 AM and I received Heather's extension who was away at her desk and to leave a message which I did. It's now 11:05 AM and still no reply from Heather?? Where can she be or is she their entire answering service? I am going to have to change Cardiologists, since this practice has gone down the tubes. My advice is to stay away from Bay Area Cardiology. I tried to go thru billing to have it resolved, yet they sent it to collection and now it's on my credit report. I asked them to produce the paperwork and of course they can't. Why ??? Because I never had it done. Needless to say , I will NEVER go back there and it's faster just to pay the money I DON'T owe to get it off my credit report. Terrible way to do business. It was only $60 but to someone on permanent disability , any extra expenditure is alot.

I was always seen by her nurse practitioner, Dr Maldlnado. At first I felt well taken care of, but it soon changed. She showed me total disregard for my issues I was experiencing, I always bad to initiate my next treatment. I questioned her as to why my Vitamin A was so high, she snarled ''cut your intake in half''.....my current Dr took me off off all my medications with Vitamins A in it. Never went over blood work, Never showed a care for your health, and the last straw was when she treated me with total disrespect for my UTI issues. Another challenge is dealing with the front end women, not very welcoming, and if you have a problem with billing forget it. There are tons of Doctors in this area that treat you with respect and take an active roll in your health. This office is not one of them.!!!!!!!!!!!!
