When waiting, a male employee was mocking a client for taking a selfie, animated enough for everyone waiting to hear. The room was noisy, the service was very mediocre, and during my mask, the service provider did the dishes - that was a first for me! There was a surprising amount of hands-off time. While looking at my skin, the provider asked my main concern, I responded hydration - She replied she would do a moisturizing facial. NO red flag there until I checked out and there was a $30 dollar up-charge for the moisture! In spas I am happy to do add-ons, but this was shady as no mention of an additional cost was stated and whatever, if anything, that was added on was inconsequential. The Hand & Stone Broomall is such an easy location for me that even with a facial that was lacking I was going to book a massage, maybe that would be better. They were aggressive with their membership sales and I had enough and left. I had overheard while waiting that the location had new ownership beginning in May. Here's hoping that they step up the training for front desk professionalism as well as technical skills, or the business does not look to have a promising future

The first 10-15 minutes was her just putting pressure on me which felt ok. Then she rubbed oil or lotion in me, couldnt really tell. She started to absolutely DIG into my shoulder blade/ neck region and barely touched anything else. I cant even explain how rough and hard she was massaging me. I just kept thinking "how much longer?!". Every time i thought she was done she literally just kept going back to my shoulder region massaging the same exact spot incredibly hard. Same with my neck. I was at this point trying to just tolerate the pain holding down my "OWS!!". At one point she was pressing on my spine, but not in a nice way. She barely put any pressure on the rest of my body and didnt massage my muscles on my legs or lower back at all. She barely massaged the rest of my body and did like a "once over" and spent like 40 minutes just on my shoulder blade. I do have to say she did massage my face/head which was nice, nothing special but different atleast for me. the massage was 100$ and tipped her a little bit over that(even tho to be honest didnt even deserve one, as it wasnt even a good massage) and she wasnt ok with how much she was tipped and tried shaming us asking for more.. as a ex-server i would never call somebody out on how much they tipped especially in this economy and ESPECIALLY after giving poor service. wont be back and i recommend taking your hard earned money elsewhere. Manicures are jagged and blobby. I asked nicely if they could fix it today, and they filed my nails down after they painted them so nail polish has already begin to chip off a few hours later. They swore they were using the same color on my hands and feet... did a tan on feet and a white on fingers and kept convincing me they were the same color. I just let it go. They act like they can't stand you the whole time. I can only get my nails done a few times a year and just want to have a moment of peace in the craziness of mom life and feel a little nicer. I just leave there not feeling great.

If you want a turn-me-into-a-puddle type of massage, she'll do it, and do an amazing job. But her real skill is structural integration, where she actually gets in between the fibers of your muscles and attachment points (as in, all 4 heads of your quadriceps muscle) and creates separation so that you feel looser over all, for longer than you would after just a traditional massage. She really wants to help address the root cause of the discomfort, not just trying to get to the discomfort itself. It sounds weird, but she gets into where it hurts, pulls on it, and then it feels better. She's all around an amazing practitioner. I love going because I always feel so much better when I'm finished. I cannot recommend her highly enough. I'd drive 2 hours to see her, but thankfully, she's very conveniently located close to my house.
