We had previously been calling other ports on our way south from a the Columbia River with absolutely no luck. We left a message on the answering machine and within 30 minutes got a call back. Turns out it was the proprietor's day off and he called anyway! What happens next is nothing short of amazing. He drives down to our boat to see if we can make a repair with his equipment and then loads our sails and takes us back to his shop. What an awesome human being!!! Keep in mind that his specialty isn't sail repair but he helped us out anyway. With our repairs complete we're continuing our journey south to San Diego. Rommel, you are our savior! When I picked up my van, both arm rests spun around in circles and the passenger seat would not recline. "Bring it back in a few weeks and I'll fix it". Mr. Gil replaced a cable that allowed the passenger seat to now recline and he fixed one arm rest from spinning around but I would need to return again for him to fix the arm rest on the passenger seat. "I'm just so busy, I don't know when I can get you in". This job started in September, it's now February. I'll find a new upholster.

The bad: it takes a long time to get your work back. I'm talking 2 months... This was after many phone calls in which we were told it would be ready next week. He had all the information he needed and took pictures of the tags with his iPhone. During our next conversation he back-peddled and said that he was confusing us for someone else. Finally, I asked him if he would be returning my calls now that he confirmed that he had all the information he needed to go ahead with the repair. He said that he would the next morning. It's been months and we still have a broken sofa. Thanks for nothing Gary! Astonishing that you are willing to put people on and lie about them in such a small town!
