I was SO impressed that this Doctor actually took the time to 1) do some extensive testing, and 2) suggested my mother take some homeopathic vitamins to assist her. I'm extremely impressed that first of, the homepathic vitamins worked when NOTHING else did. Second, that a DOCTOR would recommend them. I abhor most of the institutionalized medical profession, as many simply prescribe painkillers and ignore preventative/alternative remedies. This was extraordinary to me both that he was thoughtful enough to evaluate all traditional routes and then offer her some non traditional solutions. And one that WORKED. She is so much better. I haven't even met this doctor but knowing how much pain my mother has been in the past few years, and what she had to say about him, I needed everyone to know that this guy is the real deal. Go Dr. Schwartz, you rock. She also said he has a great bedside manner, etc. All that good stuff. Yay!

I noticed a plaque stating the doors may be locked from 12:30 to 1:00, so I waited until 1:00 before returning. When it was still locked at 1:00, the time of my appointment, I knocked to alert staff that I was there. The staff member who opened the door was visibly irritated, pointed to the plaque, and asked if I "had a question" instead of welcoming me or simply saying hello. Her tone and attitude were rude and unprofessional from the start. Once I was inside, another staff member came around the corner and, instead of showing professionalism or trying to diffuse the situation, made a sarcastic comment about the plaque and their lunch hours as she walked away, clearly meant to be rude. If the office is closed until 1:00, then maybe appointments should not be scheduled at that time. It is customary for patients to arrive a few minutes early to check in. Had the first staff member simply opened the door, greeted me, and said "let's get you checked in," the entire situation could have been avoided. Instead, she acted as though I had inconvenienced her by knocking. The echocardiogram technician was not rude, but she was indifferent and impersonal. She seemed rushed and less thorough than other technicians I have experienced. What truly concerned me was that after telling me I would need to undress and put on a gown, she did not leave the room. When she realized I wasn't changing, she asked if I wanted her to leave, but in a way that made it seem unnecessary or inconvenient for her to do so. That should never even be a question. Patient privacy should always be assumed and respected. In my 50 years, I have never had a nurse, doctor, or technician ask that in any medical setting. They always leave the room to provide privacy. It was unprofessional and inappropriate. The room itself also appeared unclean, with a trash can overflowing with used gowns, dirt on the floor, and dirty chairs, which made the environment feel unsanitary. It's a shame when poor staff behavior reflects so poorly on a practice. There are too many options out there to tolerate this level of unprofessionalism.

They went to the extent of saying that I was never their patient even after he did all my procedures and his name is all over my records and test results. The receptionist, Rebecca is equally unsympathetic, unorganized and rude. I will never recommend this practice to anybody and I hope nobody has to go through the experience that I went through.

If you are wanting someone who sees you within 5 minutes of walking in the door, spends 5 minutes with you and writes you a prescription, you may not be a good fit for this practice. Dr. Perijoc spends time with you, asks a lot of questions and runs tests to determine what going on with you. She writes prescriptions when needed, but she also addresses prevention and suggests supplements to keep you from needing prescriptions. Her knowledge is extensive and she works hard to ensure that you are not put into a box as many providers are forced to do when they have to see so many patients per day to be able to actually make a living. But if you are looking for a quality provider, she is the best we have ever seen. She is careful with your health and works to not over or under treat any condition. I am glad we finally slowed down enough to put our health and that of our kids first. We all see her and all are healthier for it!

My issue with BSW is their Urgent Care clinic. Instead of seeing a doctor for my reoccurring UTI, I was attended by a nurse practioner. The meds she prescribed was for only the symptoms. Needless to say, a few days later, I wound up at the emergency room at an urgent care. I still have another three days on meds. If in three days there's no improvement, Ill be back to BSW ER.

She's incredibly thorough and has been very accessible via the patient portal whenever I had follow-up questions. The nursing staff also deserves a shout-out. They are wonderful and very understanding. During my last visit, one of the nurses gave me some great, practical tips for managing my allergies, even sharing what works for her own kids, which I really appreciated. The Cons: My initial experience was a total nightmare due to insurance hurdles. While that isn't the fault of the practice itself (third-party insurance is the absolute worst), it definitely made the start of my journey here rocky. More recently, they've implemented a new sign-in sheet process. Since this was a change from previous visits, I mistakenly thought it was only for new patients. When the front desk clerk asked me to sign in, she responded with a confused look and a bit of a rude tone. It was a minor friction point, but a little more patience for returning patients adjusting to the new workflow would go a long way!

Texas Health Family Care is a managed healthcare care group facility located just northwest of the…read moreCoit and Campbell intersection. There was plenty of free parking available in the vicinity, but the spaces directly in front of the building will most likely be taken. There were two women checking patients in as they entered the waiting room. They were both friendly and professional (no hiding behind their computer and glass door directing you to a clipboard like in other places). I had done the electronic checkin online the day before, so I didn't have to fill out any paperwork. They simply scanned my driver's license and medical card since I was a new patient. After that, I was free to sit down and wait to be called. The waiting room is large with lots of chairs and a bench for those who might not fit a chair. There were two televisions that people could watch to pass the time. However, I didn't have to wait long. My name was called within a minute of sitting down. The assistant brought me to the back area where she took my weight and height before moving me into an exam room. Once there, my blood pressure was taken and she reviewed my medical history. She encouraged me to get my flu vaccination and pneumonia vaccination and offered to give both of them to me at that moment. I loved that they took action right away! My nurse practitioner showed up soon afterwards. She did not seem overly happy to be there. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or if this was her usual modus operandi (MO). This was a bit off putting for our first meeting, but despite her lack of enthusiasm, she performed her job well. She reviewed my medical and went through the litany of preventative procedures to make sure that I had done everything (pap smear, colonoscopy, mammogram, etc.) She was also ready to perform the pap smear if I had needed it. Thankfully since I had had one last year and the new recommendation is to do it every 3 years, I was able to skip it this time. She did a physical exam checking my eyes, ears, mouth, breathing, etc. She gave me paperwork, a urinalysis cup, and directed me to the lab on site where I could do my bloodwork. The phlebotomists were busy processing patients. They worked quickly, and I was seen within 10 minutes. She engaged me in conversation to take my mind off of the needle. She had no problem finding my vein immediately. Whew! What a relief that she was very skilled at her job. I was invited to sit in the lab waiting room where I could drink bottle water provided in the mini fridge. I needed this in order to complete that urinalysis test. The staff were all very patient, helpful , and professional. Other patients were quite friendly and chatted with one another in the lab waiting room. I love that this medical facility uses the Epic MyChart app for sharing medical records and storing them in a hub that is easy to access. I was able to get some of my lab results the same day and others came in the very next day through the MyChart app. Overall, I had a great first experience with this new medical team. When I called to schedule an appointment, they answered the phone and were able to get me in the very next day, despite being a new patient. They seemed to be very proactive and focused on preventative care. They use technology to stay organized and to communicate with the patients and the medical care team. They have a lab on site and can perform tests quickly. I'm really happy with the care I have received so far and look forward to using them for my future health care needs.
