Note: this was in May 2023. I just now realized my draft didn't get published! I needed a new back gate, and a new post for my side gate. I contacted Larry through Yelp, and he was very responsive. He came out a few hours later to give.me.an estimate. The price was fair and he seemed reliable, so I hired him to do the work in 3 or 4 days. Due to weather and scheduling other projects, he actually came out just 2 days later. It was fantastic to drive up to my house and see a brand-new gate. Larry and his assistant were finishing up with the post. They had to remove a patch of concrete, then pour new concrete. The new post is very sturdy. Both of them were polite and friendly. Larry said he prefers cash or cashier's checks for payment. Based on this job, I highly recommend Heartland. read more

Great guys. Great work. Great price. Prompt reply for estimate via the app. Came out the same day to give me the quote. Beat other quotes by over half. A small hiccup with communication but made it right. Fast and timely work. Veteran friendly. If I need any similar work done again, I'll be reaching out directly. read more

Rule #1 in business -- keep your appointments. Rule #2 -- reach out if you have to cancel an appointment. They did not show up for our appointment for a fence estimate (waited two hours), and did not call to apologize even after we called and left a message about the missed appointment. Our appointment was set up by phone about a week before; talked directly with someone who set up the appointment. read more

I've worked with Heartland twice - and both times Larry was responsive, on-time and delivered quality work. From the larger project - building a fence for front yard* and converting a section to a door, to the smaller project - a repair to a fallen panel in the back yard - Larry not only completed the tasks on time, but in both cases when he saw something wrong, did the "little extra" here and there outside of the job to prevent future issues. That foresight and generosity is appreciated and ensures that I'll be recommending him to others. *I've received compliments on the front fence a few times. read more

Lowest quote with best availability. Price Included tear out and new fence was constructed with pickets individually rather than pre-built panels. There were some quirks about the experience (payment process; timing) but overall quality seems good so far! read more

Larry did an excellent job at $1500 less than my other estimate, in fact I payed him more because of his patience with "neighbor issues".

I am so incredibly thankful I found them and have already recommended him to multiple people, including my neighbors (update: they now have a privacy fence along the same side as my replacement and it looks just as good and well done). I have had an unending list of home projects lately and there are two that stand out as the smoothest: this is one of those two. Found him to be fairly priced (actually, the best price from quotes I received), but also honest. The work itself was outstanding and I so appreciate some of the smaller details. For instance, setting the posts in the concrete overnight before continuing and ensuring the panels were properly spaced. Whomever originally installed the fence had the panels spaced too far apart, so you could still see through quite a bit despite the fact it's a privacy fence. This is such a hard combination to come by and makes him invaluable. read more

Scheduled an estimate appointment and was stood up. He was a no-show and never called or texted to let me know he wasn't coming nor did he contact me afterwards to apologize for wasting my time. Disappointed. read more

Our fence repair was done on schedule and on budget. Excellent affordable work. Easy to deal with. I highly recommend them!

Larry and his crew just finished removing old and installing new 6 foot privacy fence around my backyard - about 350 feet in all. Larry is a great communicator. Kept us in the loop throughout the project as far as schedule, unexpected issues etc. we got 4 estimates before choosing Heartland . In the end we chose them because of response time to questions, not hassling us as we gathered estimates, cost (not most or least of the estimates we gathered), professionalism. Install took a little longer than expected due to short staffing and flu and weather but again, even from his sick bed, Larry was responsive. Icing on cake: he returned some unused materials to hardware store resulting in a refund! read more

I'm still waiting to see if they'll get back to me. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. The above was posted in error. I got Heartland mixed up with a different company. Heartland did, in fact, get back to me immediately after I requested a quote informing me they did not do the kind of work I needed. Larry was very responsive, even though he knew he was not going to get any work from me. Again, I apologize for the mistake. read more

Second time hiring Larry. Most recently, he did an outstanding job building a wooden fence around our indianapolis home. He explained the design in detail in advance so we knew exactly what to expect. He quoted a fair price and kept his word (no surprise increases). We were away from the home during the build. Larry kept us up to date on the project with daily photos and texts. Larry is an honest contractor who does great work at a reasonable price. I would definitely hire him again in the future. read more

Great communication. Work was done as requested in a very timely manner. Larry was great to work with.

Great and personable! My small backyard was done in two days, just how I asked. It was very easy to get the estimate completed and the job scheduled for a really good price! read more

Larry does great work for a very reasonable price. I was hesitant to use him because his bid was lower than the rest, but I couldn't be happier with the work. read more

Larry came out and quoted the fence and told me what the materials and labor were going to cost. He kept me updated with prices of lumber changing. He also dealt with the hoa which was a huge bonus. We will for sure be using Larry in the future! read more

We contacted Heartland to request a quote for a replacement to our chain link fence. They came out and gave us a good price, were honest in what they could do and did the work quickly and efficiently. Communicated well during the process, was good about the cleanup and workers were polite. Was very pleased with the outcome and would recommend to others. read more

Just had them repair wind damage on our wood fence. They also rebuilt our gate. I can see that they did quality work. They were responsive and honest. I would use them again. read more

The next time we have a fence project, my first thought would be to call Larry. We received helpful advice and information during the inspection and quoting process, a fair and competitive price, and a high quality deliverable. Glad we made the decision to work with Larry, I hope we have the opportunity to do so again. read more

Larry and his team did a great job with our fence. We got several quotes and we are so glad we went with Larry. He was quick, respectful and knew his stuff on all our fence and gate questions. Highly recommend working with him! read more

The hardest part about getting a fence installed is even finding someone to give you a quote. He came to measure on a Sunday, and completed the work on a Saturday, Sunday and Monday when the weather delayed original plans. Larry was top notch in every aspect. He communicated with me quickly and efficiently and worked around my schedule to get things done. He kept me updated with texts and pictures while I was out of town, and the finished product looks great. You can't compete with his price, either. I would highly recommend Larry and his team to anyone. Thanks again, Larry and Heartland Outdoor! read more

We hired Larry to fix our gate that was broken and almost falling over. He responded really quickly at first and once he got the materials (there was a shortage due to covid) he started the work. A few days after he did the job the issue that caused our gate to falter in the first place wasn't fixed and our gate was starting to fall apart again. I texted larry asking him to fix it since we already paid for it and he told me DAYS at a time that he would be out to fix it and never showed up, never let me know, nothing. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and unreliable. If you're not a commercial job you're not worth his time. He got two stars because the work that was done right is good. read more
