I submitted my new Delta Dental insurance card on January 29, 2026. The office confirmed receipt. My February 3rd exam and cleaning were covered at $0. On February 21st I returned for crown prep and fillings. The office collected $1,212.40 from me representing it as my patient responsibility after insurance coverage. I later confirmed through Delta Dental's own portal that SmilexPro submitted nothing to insurance until February 24th -- three days after treatment and after collecting my payment. Delta Dental paid $0 on every restorative procedure performed. I was never given an explanation for how they calculated a specific patient responsibility of $1,212.40 without submitting anything to insurance first. When the claim came back denied they demanded an additional $937.60 and stated in writing that my permanent crowns would not be seated until I paid. I disputed this with documented evidence. Dr. Tri then authorized a full waiver and my crowns were seated. I never received a single bill, invoice, or financial document throughout my entire treatment. Every document they cited in the dispute I was seeing for the first time. Do not allow this office to begin any restorative treatment without written pre-authorization confirmation in hand. Ask for copies of everything you sign on the day you sign it
