I've been seeking and finding and shopping at New Age shops for decades now, and I'm so happy to have Hearth Wisdom close to home. I know they've been around in the metro since 2015, but they've only been in this newest spot in Pantego for a year or so (I could be wrong, but it hasn't been too long)! They have their mission statement up on their website: "Assist individuals on their spiritual path by ENHANCING their knowledge, ENCOURAGING their curiosity, EMPOWERING their actions, and EMBRACING their uniqueness." An inclusive mission that anyone can get behind. I love that and I've always felt a sense of peace, belonging, and inquisitiveness in spiritual shops. I don't consider myself spiritual or a believer in anything outside the natural cosmos, but I've always been drawn to learning about the history, rituals, stories, religions, holidays, art, relics, and beliefs of people all over the world. I should have been an anthropologist. I also wished to be a witch more than anything else as a child and will always be mesmerized by anything mystical! Hearth Wisdom is set up beautifully and I could browse forever. If you haven't been to a new age store before, most will have these essential items: candles, oils, crystals, herbs, incense, burning sage, books on spirituality, artwork, tarot cards, jewelry, journals, statues, amulets, ritual/spell tools, rune stones, self-care items, etc. Hearth Wisdom is not lacking in any of these goodies, and I find they have a pretty unique selection with lots of crafted goods from local artists. They also have several handmade blends and even subscription boxes. I'm definitely thinking about gifting one to my sister... I actually came up with so many gift ideas for so many people while shopping here. Hearth Wisdom offers oracle, tarot, and rune readings, reiki, aura and chakra readings/adjustments, and astrology/natal birth chart readings. I haven't tried any of these, but might one day. Abismal customer service. Called ahead to advise we were coming. NEVER FOUND THE PLACE. Apple Maps, Google Maps, and their website had conflicting information to the location of the store. Went to BOTH locations. NOTHING. Called MANY times in hopes to get direction to the store. NOTHING. Still within business hours. Drove around and wasted 20min trying to find the place. I just moved from Austin to Arlington/pantego area. I Google searched a crystal shop near me and this one popped up 3 min away from me. I have been to many shops all around and let me tell you!!! Omg everything was so perfect. They have cost effective items. It's a wide tangle of small and big pieces. What I loved the most was their herb wall. And on the same wall is actual premade potion ingredients. They even do live rituals and have a "witches lair". So freaking cool. You gotta check this place out. This was my first time at this store. When i walked in everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I was not looking for anything specific i just wanted to see what was there. There was a meeting happening and they all had food and invited us to stay. I was offered a rune reading. I had never heard of it and decided to pay $25 for it. My children and I love this store and the warm, loving, inviting welcome we always receive from " The Lady with the Spider Tattoo " as my girls refer to her. She is an amazing wealth of knowledge and simply oozes kindness. But today, just after her warm welcome, a man in the store asked us not to "bother her with questions" because she had work to do. He then continued to say and do things that made myself and my family feel both uncomfortable and unwelcome. In spite of him, we continued to shop, because my children love the store and I wanted to introduce the place to my friend and my adult son. Throughout our time in the store, she made us feel welcome and he did not. Then after spending over $30 I realized I had forgotten to ask him for a piece of cord for my friend's pendant. His response of "Got a dollar" was truly the last straw for me. I got my things and left the store. It was on our way out that my youngest daughter noticed that we had not paid for the toy she had chosen. I returned and bought the toy. So my issue was not the $1 it was his rudeness. Only after enduring his poor customer service and rudeness a second time, sadly I was told that he is the owner of the business. It would do him well to follow the lead of his amazing employees when dealing with customers. We may or may not be back. read more
