Outstanding customer service and technician that came to clean my pellet stove was awesome and very thorough!!! Also the price was great!!

I bought a Harman pellet stove from Hearth Designs back in 2011. Purchase and installation were uneventful, and I had no problem. I've had them come out and clean the stove every summer since then. The guy who does the cleaning knows his stuff, and is incredibly thorough and professional. He answers questions and is is very helpful with his expertise. This last year, I started to develop the tiniest crack in the front of the stove, and he pointed it out to me, and that it was a warranty issue. It hadn't quite developed yet, but he told me to keep an eye on it. The stove was having some other issues as well, and I had several other visits as well trying to diagnose the problem, which was a little tricky. By the end of the winter, the stove qualified for full replacement, which Hearth Designs handled swiftly and helpfully. They always call me back when I have questions, and are super helpful and friendly. They're a pleasure to do business with, and I'm shocked there aren't more glowing reviews. read more

We bought a top-of-the-line Harman pellet/fireplace insert stove 3 years ago. Prior to purchasing we stopped in several times to gather information. (We typically research every major purchase to the Nth degree before buying.) We were always assisted in a very helpful manner, and were even shown the process for weekly cleaning the unit, in a "dry run" manner. We have had Hearth Designs do a yearly complete cleaning after each of the three winter heating seasons so far. Just today, CT did this year's cleaning, and, as always, we appreciate his thoroughness and advise on how to get the best use of our unit. Our stove has performed very well, with only one glitch, when a wire got disconnected during a service cleaning, and they came right back out and fixed the issue. We bought a new Harman Pellet stove From these guys a few months ago and had a problem with it the first two weeks. They came out and fixed it immediately. About a month later we had a second issue and one more issue a week later. By that time I was ready to toss out the stove. But these guys were great and guaranteed the stove and their service and put in a new fan and it's been running great since. However in the same house we had an older gas fireplace in another room that was not working. John took the time to check it out, repair it and clean it all at the same time. Can't say enough good things about everyone at Hearth Designs in Hooksett. We had a problem with a gas insert that we had purchased elsewhere, years ago, and needed service on the unit. Had the service call scheduled in a matter of minutes and they were here in a couple of days. Because the problem was so unusual, the tech spent a good deal of time on the phone with the manufacturer trying to pinpoint the source of the problem and the best approach to getting it corrected. Once they decided on the best course of action, the work was completed quickly and off he went - no muss, no fuss. Suffice it to say, the problem recurred in a couple of days and, again after talking with the manufacturer's rep, new parts were ordered and installed and off we went. With final adjustments and all, there were a total of four trips and several parts orders before everything was up to par. The beauty of it all is that we were kept well informed, at every step along the way, about the progress that was being made and that it might take another trip to get it all just right. And, best of all, we were only billed for the parts, and labor, that were required to fix our problem. No extra charges for parts that weren't needed and no extra charges for labor for "training" that didn't actually get the problem fixed. We were so happy with the outcome that we had the other two gas inserts that we have here at the bed and breakfast "retrofitted" with the new parts to head off any problems that might have developed in the future! There are two main people who work here. I have no idea what their names are. For the sake of ease, let's call them Billy and Marcia. Billy is great. He's extremely knowledgeable about his products, takes the time to thoroughly address any and all questions, and is friendly and easy to talk to. Marcia is not nearly as helpful or engaging. Whenever I go there, I always help I'll see Billy because I know he'll hook me up. Case in point: I had a problem with a product I bought from them. I brought it in, Billy tested it out, quickly determined that the product was defective and gave me a brand new one no questions asked. I took that new product home, started using it and lo and behold, it crapped the bed after 5 minutes. So I had to drive all the way back there yet again, but unfortunately Billy was indisposed so I had to deal with Marcia. She seemed annoyed at having to deal with me again (even though I had to twice drive there in the span of an hour) and then started questioning me about why I didn't have some components that came with the item. I explained to her that everything they gave me was, in fact, in the box but she still was giving me an attitude. Finally she read through the package contents and realized that these components no longer come with this product, but, in fact, were with an older model. Of course, she didn't apologize to me and sort of grudgingly gave me a replacement, as if I was somehow in the wrong because they sold me a defective product. Anyway, I like the idea of pellet stoves and I like supporting local business. I will continue to patronize Hearth Designs because Billy is so awesome--I just wish he could teach Marcia a thing or two on customer service. read more

I bought my wood pellet stove from this company several years ago and have been super happy with everything but mostly their honesty and service. This spring I went in and told them the fan bearings were going on my stove and I needed the part. They validated the need was genuine, had the part in stock, told me how to install and then when I decided to book my cleaning (always do it myself but got lazy) the service person was there also and he said he would just install the part for me when he came to clean the stove FOR NO ADDITIONAL costs. Then when the clerk rang up the part the owner looked over and said oh you have been here several times, good customer, give this man a 10% discount. The day the service man was to come over (cannot remember his name but he is unbelievably thorough and impeccably clean) to do the job I had to be at work unexpectedly but when I came home the job was done as if I was standing over him watching his every move. It only saddens me that we don't have more customer service like this anymore. I wish I could give them 6 stars! read more
