You do not need any proof of buying anything. Whereas parking along the streets like 7th avenue is expensive prime time $5/hr. for a max 2 hours. At this parking garage, first 2 hours free and then only $4 for the next two hours. They do have someone in a vehicle come by and check cars. To pay for additional time, you just use a QR code next to the elevator and then pay online. Your car license plate lets them know which vehicle you are paying for. So after walking around the center, I went to the International District shop to shop and sightsee. I eventually ate in 'Chinatown'.

I don't want to attach this review to this restaurant, but that was the one place that stood out. There was a massage parlor and dentistry practice, and most of everything else was closed. **The Eternal Singer of Pine & 6th -- A Little Extra Magic at Pacific Place**…read more I was heading into Pacific Place from Pine and 6th to see a movie when I heard a woman singing on the corner. I stopped long enough to enjoy a little of her song and record a few moments before continuing inside. When I came back out after the movie, there she was again--still singing. I've started thinking of her as **"The Eternal Singer of Pine & 6th."** She felt like an unexpected extra bit of character for an already charming Seattle destination. Pacific Place itself is a great place to spend some time downtown. Beyond its unique shops, it has one of my favorite movie theaters in Seattle, plus a bar and a wonderful treehouse-style seating area where you can relax, work, enjoy some food, or have a drink. That combination is what I like about Pacific Place. You can shop, catch a movie, find a comfortable place to hang out, and sometimes even stumble across one of those wonderfully unexpected moments that makes downtown Seattle feel alive. On this visit, that moment came with its own soundtrack.

Riddell Square aka Redwood Plaza long had as its biggest draw a truly sad-looking casino, which…read moremoved out and sat empty for years. It formerly had a nitelife of sorts, with the casino, liquor store, and two bars, so drunkards liked to get in fights in the parking lot (there was even a murder); but all that's gone now, the place is no longer scary, and there's an ethnically diverse church to replace the casino. The run-down strip was mall built to 1970s specifications and only ever superficially updated. There's been a cinema there for ages, with four screens. It changed from Olympic Cinemas to Tracyton Movie House in 2021 (though this is East Bremerton, not Tracyton), with plans that make it sound like it could be a real center of joy for youth and maybe entire families, like a 1990s game parlor and big rental possibilities; time will tell if any of that works out. It's such an accessible location it seems like it should be a fine place to have a business but so many have failed and there's always a space waiting for lease. A store for disc golf and other sports equipment, where you could get sports uniforms with screen printing, opened and closed so fast my head swam (it seems to have immediately moved to Wheaton Way as 360 Disc Golf). An automobile license place was very useful but the decrepit plumbing in the mall blew up and flooded the place so they moved far, far away. Eventually they partially reopened but By Appointment Only, a nuisance. There's drive-tru banking. A substance abuse clinic handily near a brewery. A full service pet groomer with self-service pet washing space with walk-ins acceptable. A recording studio called Boom House. Clothing store for chubsters, useful to me. Computer repairman. Dentist. The oddly named Little P. I. "oriental food mart" as they call themselves, inexpensive and definitely worth a visit. Nothing that shouts, ooo, gotta check that out; there is no magnet store (Ivar's restaurant was the biggest draw way back in the 1990s, wish that had remained). But the lovely Wilco Farm Store is practically across the street in a bigger strip mall.

Reformation, COS, Anthropology, Free People, JCrew, Nordy's, and so on. Had an intimate vibe with nooks and cranny's everywhere. People were friendly in the shops. I got lucky with parking right away, so can't speak to how packed it gets but there seems to be a structure for parking. It was pretty full from what I could see. Lots of food in the area, and people walking around. Cute mall and area! If you want Bottega, LV or other brands, there's a shopping center about a mile away that you probably want to drive vs walk to.

It's a hip little indoor market at Capitol Hill with a few restaurants and a handful of retail shops. Although we mainly window shopped and just browsed around, I couldn't help but fall in love with all the lovely aesthetics. There were meats, cheeses, wine, cute little household goods, art pieces, oh my! I also noticed a few familiar names like Sitka and Spruce, a popular restaurant that I stumbled upon while researching 'must eat' spots in Seattle. I wish we had more time to look around. We didn't get to go upstairs, but I'll just have to plan for that on my next visit to Seattle. It's just down the street from the Starbucks Reserve and an easy add-on to any itinerary. Whether you're looking for snacks, coffee, or a complete dining experience -- you'll find something to enjoy here.
