With COVID having affected and changed so many lives in more ways than one since March 2020 (well…read moreover a year now as of this writing), psychologists and therapists have been in such high demand! I came across DalyBeth and Positive Health Hawaii after searching around for places that had openings and/or were accepting new patients, which as expected was super hard to come by and especially within a short time. Having been living alone and hardly able to see the closest friends for the last year now along with dealing with lots of tension within another organization that I'm working for on a part-time basis, I've been trying to seek help with my mental health and depression that has literally taken its toll on my life, I am very thankful for DalyBeth! She has been willing to listen to my situation and stories and has made plenty of helpful suggestions on helping myself relieve stress from my life. Now although I haven't gotten to some of them quite yet and admittedly may not be comfortable doing certain ones just yet, I've taken lots of notes and been trying to put her advice to great use. I'll definitely be consulting with DalyBeth periodically and again very soon, and hopefully I'll get to meet her in-person. Right now, lots of these psychologists and therapists are doing telehealth sessions or through online sources like ZOOM (not a fan of virtual events, quite frankly).

I believe God can use people and different forms of help to guide us back to ourselves. Randy's session was exactly what I needed. My thoughts had become loud and overwhelming, and I felt trapped in my own mind with no control. Through the session, Randy helped me learn how to regain that control. What once felt like a level 10 (the thoughts in my mind) is now closer to a 3. I notice a real difference every day, and I left with tools and a perspective that have truly changed my life. I wanted to explore options like meditation, coping techniques, and professional guidance before turning to medication, and I'm grateful I did. This experience was meaningful and genuinely helped me. I'm so thankful I took that step. Thank God, and thank you, Randy, for helping me find my way back to peace and control.

I was still recovering from postpartum too and had other chronic health issues that left me discouraged and wanting to give up on my life. Truly, I've never been so low. My husband was seeing Vicky at that time and recommended I start therapy with her too. I was open. I was desperate. And I'm just so grateful she was able to see me right away. So I started therapy with Vicky and slowly but surely, it's as if light began to pour into those dark, scary places into my soul. I began to heal mentally in ways I never thought I needed, addressing deep seeded lies and hurts that I never knew I carried since childhood. Now, I can wholeheartedly say I'm free. Im free from the tight grip of anxiety that would constantly plague my mind. Of course, I'll never be perfect and will still struggle from time to time but NOW I have precious tools - weapons - that I'm armed with that help me fight against my anxious thoughts and emotions. I'm so grateful for what Vicky has done for me. Seeing her twice a month (all through virtual sessions) she has lovingly and patiently brought me to this place of freedom and VICTORY. Therapy is INCREDIBLY VALUABLE and LIFE-CHANGING. I am a HUGE advocate for it, I recommend therapy for EVERYONE, and there is no other like Vicky. We went through the whole online quiz to find out core attachment patterns and though the information and initial consultation was oddly insightful, it didn't fully address the elephant in the room; the affair. We went straight through to addressing our past traumas, and it sincerely didn't help that I apply in almost all types of trauma listed. In the few sessions we had, it helped us understand a few things about ourselves, but with work and priorities, it became hard to practice outside of the appts and unfortunately we never discussed a chance for each of us to talk to her separately. And this was the one thing I really wished was required. Would marriage counseling be able to detect abuse? I really wished they did every time, cause then we can talk about my suicide attempt and being on suicide watch on two separate occasions, we could've talked about how my boss mentioned signs of domestic abuse and I scoffed it off but it planted a horrible revelation. We could've talked about how I'm feeling so afraid and so controlled, I was convinced I shouldn't have even felt this way, that immediately after stating my suspicions of being an abusive relationship I was told to be very careful what I'm accusing, and the one person who can see all that with me can't. My trauma now becomes the final blow in every argument, I'm emotionally muted, and I'm trying so hard to feed the fire of my will enough to stay alive. Even my prior therapist said she isn't a good therapist. I wish I spoke up more about it with her, I suppose I have no excuse. Anyways, if you're going through a domestic or emotional abuse, don't go here.
