My experience with this business was disappointing, particularly because of how an employee…read morerepresented Texas law to me. During my visit, I used the word "bong" while discussing merchandise sold by the store. I was told that using the word "bong" in the store was illegal. I have no problem with a privately owned business establishing rules regarding the terminology customers use inside its store. However, there is an important difference between telling a customer, "That is our store policy," and telling a customer, "That is illegal." After the interaction, I looked into the applicable Texas law. The relevant statute is Texas Health and Safety Code, Chapter 481 (Texas Controlled Substances Act). Section 481.002, which defines "drug paraphernalia," actually includes a "bong" among the types of objects identified in that definition. The statute does not make merely saying the word "bong" a criminal offense. More importantly, Texas Health and Safety Code §481.125, "Offense: Possession or Delivery of Drug Paraphernalia," concerns the use, possession, manufacture, or delivery of drug paraphernalia in connection with controlled substances and places importance on knowledge and intent. That is materially different from a customer simply using a particular word while discussing merchandise that the business itself offers for sale. Nothing in my conversation involved stating an intention to use the product with an illegal controlled substance. I was discussing products being sold by the store. If the store prefers customers to use terms such as "water pipe" rather than "bong" when discussing those products, that is certainly a policy the business can establish and communicate. But a terminology preference should be presented as store policy rather than represented to customers as a criminal prohibition. Because of this experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere. My decision is not based on the store having its own terminology policy; businesses are entitled to establish reasonable policies for their premises. It is based on the way that policy was presented to me as a matter of law rather than simply being communicated honestly as store policy. If a business is willing to present an internal store policy as though it were Texas law, it makes me question what other information they're giving customers about what is and isn't legally required. A store has every right to establish its own policies, but there is a significant difference between saying, "That's our policy," and telling a customer, "That's illegal." If you're going to invoke the law to justify a policy, you should accurately represent what the law actually says.

Teamwork is a beautiful thing I met very nice helpful employees that I could befriend if I lived closer or if they were interested in following my husky's Facebook feed. I got a good deal and didn't feel ripped off on the value one bit and that says a lot because I'm a value shopper. I'll gladly pay more for a better product especially if I feel like I can come back for help and parts for my mods or more juice. Loved my pit stop. She doesn't really greet me, the interaction feels kind of quiet and awkward, and there's no real effort to make conversation or ask if you need help. I often feel rushed when I'm there. I've also noticed the owner will step in sometimes to greet or talk during my transactions with her, which makes the difference in customer service stand out even more. On my last visit, my significant other asked for an item and she grabbed it, then immediately went to the register even though I was still looking at the vapes. He had to tell her we weren't done looking yet. It felt like we were being rushed instead of being able to finish shopping.

When I needed to find a new shop, google was my friend and I picked the first one on the list. Roy and Mal took amazing care of me. I went in looking for new batteries and a new mod. I left with a lot more than that - a new mod I already love (great recommendation from Roy!), three bottles of juice - all new flavors that have all turned out fantastic, two new tanks, extra coils, battery cases - and a new Friendly Local Vapor Shop. Prices vary within a reliable range in the vape industry. These guys are right near the middle on the stuff I bought, and a bit below the average on things like the batteries. Their selection of premium juices was overwhelming to look at - which is *exactly* what I want to see. I want options, and I'm a hard fit on flavor. (No berries and NEVER a melon!) I walked out with three new flavors. A new record! I'm normally lucky to find ONE new flavor I'm willing to try, much less three that I'm excited about. But they are not my new shop because of pricing, selection, or inventory. They are my new shop because I walked in ready for a fast in-and-out purchase, and instead I got amazing customer service from knowledgeable people who took their time asking me good questions and answering every question I had. They bounced ideas off each other, and neither one of these guys missed a beat as other customers came in and out of the store. Some of these other customers had a lot of questions and some knew exactly what they wanted. In every case, Roy and Mal were on top of it. No one left empty handed, because even if they didn't have the exact thing, they knew what would work in its stead. And at no point was I ever ignored or felt like they weren't present and involved and invested in me buying a whole new kit and seriously restocking my denuded supplies. Not only did they have product knowledge, they had industry knowledge - which for a vape shop, is VERY important. They knew their materials, they knew their juices, and they knew what was new, what was coming down the pipeline, and they knew what to recommend to someone who knows the style of device and tank they want. They didn't try to up-sell me; they didn't have to. They just offered their products, gave me pros and cons, and then let me decide. I went with their recommendations every time, because they had heard me and recommended things that work for me. Good prices. Good products. Great customer service. They earned a new repeat customer tonight, and I finally have a vape shop near my new home. They're a small store, but don't let that fool you - there is a big business in that little store, and they are very interested in making sure they take care of their customers.
