Dr. Katarina literally changed my life. I went to her in desperation after another well-known…read morehearing clinic told me my particular hearing loss couldn't be solved by any hearing aids yet invented! Katarina did a thorough exam and to my surprise put in a demo hearing aid at the end of my exam that enabled me to hear all the sounds I had been missing all these years! How could that be? Well, I looked into it and Katarina is an audiologist while the person I saw (twice) at the other place is a Hearing Instrument Practioner (HIP). Most customers may be well served by a HIP but for those of us with a bit more complicated situation, an audiologist like Dr Katarina is needed. Of course she can help those with more common hearing issues too. Within a week or two after my assessment I got my own customized hearing aid. Over a series of complementary appointments Katarina slowly increased the volume of the hearing aid and showed me how to care for it. Right from day one it felt comfortable to the point I forget I am wearing anything - no problems at all. I found Katarina to be very professional, kind and personable. Her competence is obvious as soon as you meet her. She told me her oldest patient is 102 (!) and her youngest is in her early teens. Her new office is bright and attractive. The location is convenient and comes with easy, free parking under the building or on surrounding streets.

None of the other clinics would even try to help me. Dr. Vavrovicova immediately asked me to come to her office so she could give me a loaner as I was not able to use my hearing aids. When I went there to take moulds, they told me it takes 3 weeks, because they are busy but it took 4 weeks. I had 2 weeks to test them. I did and they did not work for me. They barely blocked any noise and were too small, I had difficulty removing them from my ears. They needed a string or something ti grab by. I went back for a better fitting. Only then I was told if I want any adjusting on the plugs, there may be small fee for that and they will let me know. They said they are very busy, so it may be a while. When I did not hear from them for 5 weeks I called the office. I was told, they left me a message 3 weeks ago, that I never got and they werent able to tell what # they called. I was told rhey never adjusted the plugs, cause I have to pay full fee all over again to have that done. So 2 months later and I had no plugs. If i wanted plugs that "maybe" would work, it would have cost me twice the fee???? What kind of service is that? And what happened to " we make the product to your satisfaction" service? 2x fee?? No thanx! I guess they deserve at least one star, cause they were at least able to refunded my money (first fee). Oh yeah, they also mispelled my name, and I handed them my ID .....

The hearing industry, especially in Richmond, BC, is hugely competitive. There are quite a number…read moreof audiologists serving the community. From my experience and those of others, some feedbacks about the service they had received from practitioners have not been complimentary. The reasons are varied. Thus, when I was received at CONNECT HEARING, Sharon at reception, and Tiffany, the audiologist, exceeded my expectations. They are very professional, receptive, and very friendly. Never in a moment did I feel uncomfortable or obliging. I say this because others with diplomas and certificates hanging in their offices made me feel like I was "taking too much of their time". "Helping patients resolve their problems to their great satisfaction" is the objective of those who are truly professionals. And this is what Tiffany at CONNECT HEARING amply represents. The hearing test she conducted was very thorough. She explained the steps she took to program the HAs. Most of all, she made sure that my HAs effectively resolve my hearing deficiency by recommending a trial period and booked a return appointment for proper adjustment if necessary. Properly configured and programmed, my Phonak marvels work like a charm. This approach to her profession convinced me that she is very accomplished. I have no hesitation to recommend her to anyone requiring the services of an audiologist. Thank you, Tiffany and Sharon!

She speaks English, a Chinese language(not sure if Cantonese or Mandarin), medical jargon, & just regular folks (She answered my questions in either jargon or human, whichever I wanted) The initial hearing test is free! What you'll pay for hearing aids depends on style & your insurance coverage; mine were $4K full price, but I paid $0.00, including three years full warranty; free battery replacements when needed, & one complete replacement, if I lose them or they're destroyed. Quality product, quality people I'm in a wheelchair, so accommodations had to be made, & the staff were great. The first person you'll meet is Sharon at te front desk; SOO nice! She'll answer questions, too, but, of course, will direct technical questions to the hearing professionals on staff. Parking in front & back (main building entrance in front, but accessible from back; wheelchair uses need to park in back & wheel around the building, & up a gentle ramp to get in.); I came by 401 bus, which dropped me right on the corner after a 1.5 minute ride from Brighouse Station. Honestly, I'd consider trveling here from other Metro Vancouver cities -- they're that good! My hearing aids fit & work beautifully (& are completely discreet--nobody's noticed them yet!); they're small enough I can put my Bluetooth earpiece on over top no problem. .

Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility has proven to me to be a "dis"organization, with…read moreVery poor communication skills ( which is sad for a company that is based on trying to improve communications abilities for their patients, and that has the word communication in it ). And I have also learned recently that there has been a history of abuse and " inappropriate " conduct from upper management towards their staff. I was a very " patient " patient of 2 locations for over 2 years while seeking help for my moderate hearing loss, very severe tinnitus, and very severe hyperacusis. My first experience was with an audiologist at the Willow street location P----- is a TRT trained audiologist and she seemed eager to help me, but she continually very abruptly spoke over the top of my answer to every question that she asked me which caused me unnecessary confusion and stress. And the receptionist at the same clinic, S---- R---- made her interactions with me very inappropriately personal in nature in the ways that she would ask me questions about my choices in audiology care that were meant to be strictly between myself and the audiologist. On top of that, P----- ( the audiologist I tried to work with ) decided to quit the organization without providing myself, and her management, any notice. In the last hour of her last day of work with Wavefront she emailed me to let me know that she was resigning that day and that I should work with someone else. I later learned from one of her colleagues that there was dozens of other Wavefront Center for Communication Accessibility audiologists and administration staff that quit the organization in a sort of " mass exodus " as, apparently there were multiple reports of derogatory verbal abuse and " inappropriate " conduct from the CEO and management to some of their audiologists and admin team. Now, after I spoke with the new CEO, h---, on the phone, I was granted an expedited appt with the last remaining TRT trained audiologist at the head office in Mount Pleasant, G----. However when the appt time came I arrived to learn that she works with a student present during every appt with her patients. I can understand that she does this to help the organization to train new audiologists, but it is definitely not appropriate to not notify each patient of this beforehand. ( I was told by the reception that my appt was with ' G---- ' and no one else. ) When I asked G----- why and asked that my hearing test be done with just her she said " No. "I said " I was not told that by you or the admin staff or the CEO, so can you explain why, G----? " And she said " No, I do not think that I have to explain that to you. Would you like to proceed? " So, I thought that was actually very ignorant of G----. I finished my updated hearing test as it was needed to get my new in-ear tinnitus masker / hearing aid devices from the organization. I told the new CEO, h---- what I experienced and he agreed with me that I should have been notified that beforehand. The devices I waited over a year for were finally ordered and finally arrived. When at the head office for the fitting, excited to finally have my new tinnitus maskers the male audiologist, named n---, greeted me. While walking down a rather long hallway to the appt room, nick asked me " how has your day been so far? " which I answered. Yet he chose to ask me the same question 2 more times. Strange. I then asked for the appt room door to be closed, for privacy, focus and because of distracting audio and visuals in the hallway. The audiologist said no. The appt room doors were always closed at their other location, so I told him and the CEO so. I was then informed by the CEO that they could not accommodate that and that they will no longer be able to help me. If I were them, I would be offering me the same appt at a different clinic, and I suggested that to him and have received no response from the CEO I am considering filing a lawsuit against Wavefront Center for these reasons.
