I've been bringing my mom to this Hearing Life on Thornwood for several years now. Lori takes great care of my mom's hearing needs. My mom got hearing aids here and we come back regularly for hearing and hearing aid checks. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating with my elderly mom. The office is clean with coffee and candy in the waiting room, and we've never had to wait long to be seen. When my mom has had issues with her hearing aids or with the app, I call and they get us in quickly and resolve all issues for us. I confidently recommend Hearing Life. read more

I took my mom here to get her hearing aid replaced. Was easy to make an appointment, and they were on time and ready when we got there. They did a hearing test, and reviewed the results with us. We decided to keep the existing hearing aid she had, but got one of the repaired. They were so patient and knowledgable and helpful with her and we felt totally supported. I went to this office about 5 years ago for my first pair of hearing aids, after not wearing them for awhile, decided to get my hearing checked again. I now have a pair that's chargeable (the way to go!) The hearing aid on the right has finally been adjusted to be able to wear during the day. Wearing my first hearing aid, I started to hear quite differently. Many sounds showed up, such as the garage door opening and close. Familiar sounds change to clearer and sharper, such as the car safety belt warning. But the most thrilling moment came in the first get-together after the COVID, my son leaned over, "Mom, you are much brighter and more responsive! In the past you would have said 'I beg your pardon' three times in this thirty minutes. Thank you very much for the effort!" His smile shined my heart for days. And the serendipity came within my insurance coverage! I worked with 3 audiologists and was attracted to HearingLife since it was the only one running Real-Ear Measurements (the only way to ensure that your hearing aids are programmed correctly to your hearing loss prescription). Everyone focused on the most leading-edge products (hence the most expensive). While I asked middle-end options, you could see the disagreement. I had to ask three times to even get a quote. So when Cindy called with her investigation, I was prepared to get shocked. Shock indeed! She managed to pick one within my budget! She really cares! And the service I've got was first-class. Cindy/Lori added 8 AM to schedule so I could see her earlier, and when I took a wrong exit hence 15 minutes late, she arranged extra time at the same day to finish our tuning. She covered everything, and added tails to ensure the aids stay safely in the ears, in the next visit while I was about to propose to try without tails, she suggested to change to smaller tails. I am a Hear USA customer from Oceanside, Ca. My right bearing aid suddenly stopped working and I was in trouble. Hear USA does not have an office within 50 miles of San Jose but they recommended HearWell. I made an appointment. I was an hour early and Lori said come on by! I was met with a bright and cheerful office and Lori. She explained what they could do and took a look at my device. The new was not good. Total failure and it would need to be sent in for repair. Nothing they could do. I was treated like a long time customer from the moment I walked in to my sad departure. If you think you need hearing aids this has to be the best company in town. I've been going here for years but recently there has been a change in ownership and I have to say I enjoy my appointments when I attend them. I am probably the most pain in the ass customer because my hearing loss is very unusual as I can hear certain frequencies fine but others I cannot compared to most just having a straight across the board hearing loss. Its making finding a new set of devices extremely hard and difficult but they have been troopers in helping me out with trying different brands and kinds of devices; still in progress but I'm confident that we will succeed! I do not like to post negative reviews and usually, although the service was bad, I'd rather just not go back there again. However, in this case, not only was the service bad, we are stuck with having to deal with them till the one year warranty expires. This involves a hearing aid ordered four months ago that was not working properly when received and had to be sent back. You'd think that they would expedite this correction since being able to hear is important. It took weeks, then when picked up, the batteries were dead, Went back and replacement batteries were also dead, then went back again and was given the wrong batteries, then went back yet again, and was told they couldn't help cause the person handling the case was not there. Because of the problem with the batteries, it is still unknown if the hearing aid will work properly. Although the hearing aid is paid for, it has been four months and still no working hearing aid. I would not recommend this hearing aid facility. CT read more

I bought a hearing aid over the internet. The battery door broke off so I emailed if they will repair it. They said come on in. I went there , they didn't have the part in stock but called manufacturer. Ordered a new door , it will take a week. No pressure to order a new hearing aid unlike other places I have gone. read more

I visited this place with my parents and we went in to have a hearing test for my father. We had the test and then wanted to get the information regarding my parents medical insurance and medicare and what portion each would pay if any. They told us they would get this information and get back to us as quickly as possible. It has been over a month and no response. We called back to follow up and they informed us that they have no information for my dad or any information of our visit. I understand things happen but how do you lose everything. We have since taken our business elsewhere. read more

Went in for hearing test today, but seemed equipment malfunctioned...have to reconfirm results elsewhere. Decided to go through my ENT specialist....A second opinion about purchasing anything expensive is always something I do..that includes medical/physicians, insurance providers and car mechanics..Seniors can never be too careful! Excellent service and, surprisingly, often for free. I had a hearing aid that needed cleaning and started looking for places. I was getting estimates up to $150 (Willow Glen), which seemed high; when I followed a recommendation from a friend to go to Center For Better Hearing Aids, I was charged a mere $10. Eventually, the old hearing aid went south, and I have since bought -- over a couple of years -- two hearing aids from CFBHA. Whenever I go in, the service is cheerful and prompt. If a part is needed, the charges are reasonable and the work gets done as quickly as the industry allows. (CFBHA, after all, is at the mercy of whatever suppliers they work with.) And when I go in with a hearing aid clogged by wax (as I did this morning), the service is cheerful, quick and free. Plus, their Keurig coffee machine serves me well while I wait. I was a little freaked out having to get hearing aids at age 57. Everyone at HearWell Audiology is very accommodating, helpful and friendly. I can only say great things about this organization and the people. Lori at reception is friendly, compassionate, knowledgeable and explained everything to me very well. When I had issues with a third-party, everyone at HearWell was on my side acting on my behalf. Cindy Brown, audiologist extraordinaire, explained everything to me about hearing aids: the different models and what would work best for me. Cindy made sure I understood everything. They had great service, till the receptionist made a mistake costing me $2000. I agreed to make payments and made them on time. But they never send a statement or anything proving how much I still owe. They just keep telling me the amount left without any paper work. Now they call and make threats if I don't make the last payment. Well I need paperwork or a simple statement to make the final payment. Ver unprofessional and unreliable receptionist. Will never go back there again. They treat you like an imbecile read more

Really impressed with the service we received. My mother was visiting from the East coast and her hearing aid stopped working. New batteries and cleaning at home did not work. We were able to get an appointment with Center for Better Hearing in a timely manner. The staff was exceptional in working with my 87 year old mother. They were very patient and took extra time to answer her questions and resolve another issue she was having with the fit of the hearing aid. The original problem turned out to be minor, but much to our surprise we were charged nothing. She was given extra parts just in case she encountered the same issue during her visit. Again at no charge. I was absolutely amazed at the generosity and care this office embodies. What a rare find these days. I can't say enough about Hearwell Audiology and its staff. My original consultation was back in March 2017 where I met with Karina. Karina was outstanding in explaining my hearing loss and going over the vast variety of hearing aid options. I tested the ITC aid but ultimately went with the Lyric. Again I can't stress enough how patient and compassionate Karina was during the initial test phase for me. The other star at this office is Laurie. I came in for an up-to-date hearing test and the possible purchase of an replacement to my existing Oticon hearing aids. Audiologist Karina put me immediately at ease, somehow translated my untechnical rambling description of my hearing problems into something meaningful, and cleaned and readjusted my existing hearing aids to better than new condition. I just got my second hearing aid from this place. Both times they took my insurance and found that I was covered and yes it took about a month in both cases. The usual time line to work with an insurance company. Both times they worked with the insurance companies to get me a great deal. Both times I went to 3 other places to compare and ended up at the CFBHA. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and went the extra mile to keep my old hearing aid in good condition. Over 3 years, I went back 3 times on the first hearing aid 2 of those times to get a new tube each year. It cost me $10 and the hearing aid worked like new. I have been back once on the new one to get the ear mold adjusted and the programs adjusted. No charge. This is all part of the process to ensure you get the results you want for the money I paid.
