My current aids were not really doing the job, even though they are less than a year old. I just wasn't happy with them. So, I went to see Dr. Miles. He provided me with a new pair of Oticons. They are FABULOUS! I don't understand the technology, but apparently it monitors all the sounds at about 100 times a second. Here's what it says on its website: "Powered by the Velox™ platform, the newest BrainHearing™ solution from Oticon employs an "open sound" approach to manage multiple speech and noise sources, even in complex listening situations. The company says the new OpenSound Navigator™ scans the environment 100 times per second to analyze and balance every sound individually. Environmental sounds are said to be accessible, but not disturbing. With this open sound experience, Oticon reports that it makes traditional directionality, designed to focus on the main sound in front and suppress background sounds, a thing of the past. Users can now focus on a conversation while staying attentive to people and things around them, and switch focus quickly and easily." Now again, I don't understand it all exactly, but the aids have been really working well. Oticon also has an app for the phone that makes it easy and unobtrusive to control the volume. You don't have to pick the ambient noise quality (e.g., car, restaurant, etc.) because it is doing that all automatically. At least that's what I think its doing. Great hearing aids! I haven't been this happy with hearing aids in a long time. Patric Kelly

Talk about discrimination! Never in my life have I had to step in and defend my child against a physician! He was so unprofessional, after waiting almost 2 hours to see this man, he walked in demanding we put on our masks on, which we did politely, then when my son failed to address him as Dr. he proceeded to speak to my son as though he was less than him, demanding he address him as doctor, which my son politely responded and said "I'm sorry dr, I was not trying to be rude" but this man continued to talk to my son as though he was some type of low life, I then had to step in and tell him he was being extremely rude and disrespectful to us for no reason! He apologized but continued with his condescending tone, talking down on my son to the point he threw his hands up claiming he would not touch my son's issue that he's had for over a year, hence the referral! Claiming my son should respect him due to my son needing him!!!! When my son felt overwhelmed and defeated he said I need to leave if you won't help me, he kicked us out of the office and told us never to come back!!! I'm blown away at this mans behavior! I wouldn't even call him a man! More like a man child who has a huge superiority complex! SMH! Shame on you Dr. Contreras, respect is earned not just given! I hope you receive the life you deserve!! We are good people who did not deserve to be treated as we did today! Retire! Mediate! Do something, just because my son was wearing a flannel over his scrubs you judged him on how he looked!! Assumed he was something he isn't and allowed your judgment to mistreat another human! Tisk Tisk! I wish there was an option for negative stars, because you don't even deserve 1!! All my concerns about cataract surgery were heard and I had a clear understanding of what to expect. Dr Paik did cataract surgery at O Connor hospital , Sanjose on my left eye in late May 2026 and my right eye in late June 2026. Prior to surgery i was short sighted and astigmatic. When cataracts started forming my vision deteriorated- trouble with reading road signs and a lot of blurriness. I chose the Clareon PanOptix Pro Toric trifocal intraocular lens for both my eyes and I am extremely happy with the daytime results. I am completely free of glasses for distance, intermediate, and near vision which has been amazing and has made such a difference in my daily life. There is a trade-off though with trifocal lenses, at night. Because the lens divides incoming light into multiple focal points to provide clear vision at different distances, I do notice faint concentric rings, glare, and halos around bright lights at night. I was told that the brain can gradually adapt to these visual effects, sometimes taking six months to a year, although they may not completely disappear in some cases. . The hope is that, over time, I will notice them less and learn to ignore them. Overall, I am very pleased with my experience and especially grateful for Dr. Paik's expertise, patience, and willingness to answer all of my questions throughout the process. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone considering cataract surgery.

Not the Best Experience…read more I understand many businesses are often busy and understaffed, but that should never affect basic patient/customer courtesy and providing decent service. Pros: - Organized - Good upbeat music - Comfortable room temperature - Nice small play area for small kids - Sessions ends w/15 min ice or heat therapy rest Cons: - Highly internally social front desk area, neglectful to patients - No proactive follow-up regarding VM messages & call backs - Sometimes smells stuffy and sweaty with everyone The front desk area often feels like a social gathering, frat-party among the staff, leaving paying customers feeling like an afterthought. Communication and follow-up was disappointing. I left multiple VM messages and spoke with staff over the phone regarding important time-sensitive medical records I needed. Out of about seven attempts, I received only two callbacks, one a couple of days later, and the other several days later. In most cases, I had to repeatedly follow up myself and repeat the detailed messages I left. Suggestions for Management: - Hold the front desk and all staff accountable to provide welcoming and professional service to all patients/customers. - Set clear expectations for prompt follow-through service. - Maybe incentivize good behavior from your staff with Starbucks gift cards or something. - Make sure you have a trusted Office Manager to keep everyone on point. The clinic could benefit from a few simple additions, like a few plants, framed health tips, encouraging quotes or posters, updated magazines in the lobby area, and maybe an essential oil diffuser to keep the workout area smelling fresh and pleasant, especially considering how busy it gets. The QR codes and flyers that are displayed on the walls that encourage us to post reviews would look more professional if they were placed in simple frames, and the QR codes were placed in an easy-to-scan, non-high-traffic walkway area. Overall: Healthcare is about more than treatments and exercises. Studies show that positive interactions, genuine kindness, and feeling acknowledged can improve a patient's emotional well-being and overall healing experience. Something as simple as a smile, warm greeting, or thoughtful gesture, and a pleasant smell can truly make a meaningful difference to someone's mood and nervous system. This clinic has potential, but the overall patient experience needs a massive overhaul. The positive qualities, unfortunately, are overshadowed by poor and careless communication from the front desk area and some of the other PT staff on the floor. Sometimes it feels like no matter who I talk to there, I just feel like another number.
