I scheduled a followup office visit after taking the hearing screening test at Porter Hospital while attending the 9 News Health Fair this last March. During my call, the person scheduling my appointment shared the fact that there was no fee for this followup exam, which I confirmed with the receptionist when I arrived for my office exam.
It was at the Centennial office location for HRC, that Julie Link, AuD. conducted a background interview on any hearing related issues that would have impacted my hearing. As part of this interview, she discussed the entire process we use to hear and understand what we hear. Her explanations were very concise, understandable, and informative. She was genuinely interested in my questions and provided very thoughtful responses. Afterwards, she conducted a much more comprehensive hearing exam than I received at the health fair. Again, her explanations before, during and after the exam were very informative and offered in a very clear and concise manner. In addition to the detailed exam results, I received a booklet describing the services offered by HRC and a summary of the hearing process. Though no action was recommended at this time, Dr. Julie stated the test results would represent a baseline from which any future tests could be evaluated. Recommending future annual exams, she was clearly interested in establishing a relationship from which she and HRC could be of service should I develop any future functional hearing loss.
I would definitely recommend Dr. Julie Link and HRC for any hearing related issues and to proactively take their hearing exam to have a baseline from which any future tests could be evaluated. For as Dr. Link and the HRC booklet explained, there are conditions that are best treated the earlier they are detected. read more
