My first exam was done by Dr Lewis, ENT to make sure my ears were clear of any wax or other physical blockage. Then Dr Manchester, Audiologist did the testing for hearing loss. I spent most of my exam time with Dr Manchester. I really appreciated her calm, no judgment manner. It made it much easier to be honest with questions or any other concerns. Within 2-3 days of wearing the aides for 2-3 hrs/day, the tinnitus issue was resolved!!! I had surgery for a small hole in my eardrum before my teen years so I always knew hearing aides would realistically come earlier than most. Waited 40 minutes to be seen and only one person went in during that time. Finally seen by dr. small talked about hearing aids in hearing room. Then asked to walk outside and that was it. No hearing test....I didnt even want to bother asking about the hearing test after being treated this way. I guess the dr didnt like me giving the lady at the desk a hard time because I had to wait so long. It would be different if they were truly busy with patients going in and out. I am a singer. I could no longer hear my duet partner's voice. I went to Dr Manchester and she and the phonak hearing aids have changed my life. I need it to hear the ambient sounds of the room and the last hearing aids had gotten, not by a doctor, would not allow for that. My world is so much more vivid now, sounds everywhere that I didn't know existed. Just recently I played and sang through the Catholic Triduum, which is nine services in 4 days. The sound was unbelievable. The piano sounds were great. For the first time I was able to actually play a piano and sing with hearing aids in. Exactly what I was looking for. On July 1st, I went to see Dr. Fisher ENT because of Tinnitus. He first said I had wax in my ears so cleared my ears. Then sent me over to see Deborah Manchester the Audiologist. After testing, to my shock she said I had 85% hearing loss in both ears and needed hearing aids. I went for the tinnitus; I hear quite well so could not believe the report. And for $5800.00 she could fit me with hearing aids (oh yes, she was giving me $1000. discount). This is truly a scam. My review does not even deserve one star. Be Aware! read more

DO NOT buy! I had a similar experience to other 1-star reviews. Dr. Manchester pressure me to buy Phonak Audéo Lumity L50 hearing aids through her, for which she charged $5800, but indicated that the insurance will cover maybe $3200 of it; nevertheless, she charged me $5800 up front. It turns out that you can buy the exact same product on line for about $2500. When I asked why is this, she brushed me off saying something that audiologists charge $1000 per ear to do the test and adjustments, which is not true by a long shot. As soon as she understood that I am not going to keep them, she instantly lost any interest in me. I got $5600 refunded, and she kept $200 as a service charge (I guess the service was overcharging me by $3000+). I thought that this was unprofessional and maybe even unethical. I wonder if she gets them from a distributor for $2500 or less, and I don't think that the insurance covers over 100% of the retail price. Dr. Manchester is fabulous! I had a hearing test in 2021 and after her thorough and detailed perusal of my hearing test, she det ermined that I had a genetic hearing problem. I had otosclerosis. My father had it and I inherited it. She alerted Dr. Fisher and I had a surgery at the House Ear Clinic that restored my hearing 100%. I had been wearing a very expensive hearing aid that was unnecessary for 5-6 years. This hearing aid was recommended by another ear nose and throat doctor. All I can say is AVOID Dr. Manchester at all costs. This saga began over THREE YEARS AGO and has drawn out all this time until last week. My Mom had gone in for guidance and help with her hearing issues. Dr. Manchester immediately sold her the Phonak aids for $7000. This seemed excessive but she was told these were the best option for her. Bear in mind: my mom is 84 years old and was thinking her best interests were being met. Right away there were issues. Countless "adjustment" appointments led to her to being sold yet another appliance to work with the original Phonak aids. This proved disasterous because this created a whole new set of problems with a constant ringing and loud feedback that Dr. Manchester repeatedly dismissed. Additionally, they were always falling out whenever my mom talked or ate. Music, conversation and television were nearly impossible for my mom at this point due to the distortion. She became frustrated, withdrawn and distressed and was avoiding certain social situations because of this. Again, instead of returning these ridiculous hearing aids and offering a superior product, Dr. Manchester stayed on my mom with this horrible product to where my mom felt humiliated with her concerns and complaints. My sister and I went with our mom on Thursday to address these issues and to advocate for our mom. Dr. Manchester - instead of listening to our frustrations and concerns was immediately on the defensive and dismissed all these problems my mom has been having. Her attitude was beyond unprofessional throughout the entire meeting. At one point we asked for a refund, only to be told by Dr. Manchester "that will never happen." When leaving the office, the only thing I can think is that Dr. Manchester is on the take and getting kickbacks for this horrible product she convinced my mom to drain her savings for. Read these reviews: why else would she continue to push the Phonak on all her vulnerable elderly patients? In this day, there are hundreds, if not thousands of quality options... this begs the question: what is she getting out of this? I have been having very professional and attentive care from both Dr. Manchester and Dr. Fisher. I have been gradually losing my hearing for some years now (I am a composer/pianist who occasionally plays loudly), and I was diagnosed accurately and quickly. The Phonak hearing aids were expensive, but they have been very good for me; I can hear pitches that I haven't heard for years, and I am able to hear the often quiet voices of teenagers that I teach. I feel that the followup and the care taken in followup has been worth the price; I also appreciate the personalized attention I have received (including other recurring problems with my ears). Before writing this review, I read some of the one-star reviews for Dr. Manchester and Dr. Fisher; I understand how price can be an object, especially if the hearing aids are not functioning properly (I noticed in all the one-star reviews I read that, when the hearing aids did not function properly, the office made every effort to fix or replace them); but the care and professionalism that the doctors have shown me have made the price of the hearing aids worth it. If you're looking to buy hearing aides , this is NOT the place to purchase them. About a year ago I had my ears checked by the physician. After the check an audiologist tested my hearing and she summarized the results of the test. She recommended that I purchase Phonak hearing aides at the price of $7,200 which she lowered to $6,900. Several weeks ago the left hearing broke and the company sent a new one. Last week she programmed the left hearing aide and she said that the right hearing aide would probably need to be replaced. You can purchase Phonak hearing aides online for about $2,000. Because I was hoodwinked and inexperienced about the cost of hearing aides, I requested that my money be refunded, and they emailed me that I had to do so within 45 days of the date of purchase. Further, I filed a complaint with state hearing aide office explaining what has happened and requested their assistance in having my money refunded. In sum, HEAR MD will overcharge you and I recommend buying hearing aides from reputable, honest vendor or store! read more

Both Dr. Fisher and Dr. Manchester are excellent within their line of work!! I have known Dr. Fisher for many years working at Methodist Hospital as in Arcadia as an RN and would highly recommend him for any ENT issue that may arise as he is super conscientious, highly skilled with both the pediatric and adult population and who genuinely cares about the patients with whom place their trust in him and I'm so grateful that he is my ENT doctor!! I met Dr. Manchester a few years back due to hearing loss and that hearing aids were definitely indicated. Both she and Dr. Fisher took such amazing care of me during a time when I was very ill and was so touched with their kindness and genuine concern for my health and well being. When going thru the process of getting the new hearing aids adjusted, Dr. Manchester absolutely went above and beyond to ensure they fit and worked properly. She is readily available for appointments and or calls if problems arise in-between appointments which is so rare to find with doctors now a days. She is extremely conscientious and has you come in several times once the hearing aids are fit to ensure they are adjusted perfectly!! I can't thank both Dr. Fisher and Dr. Manchester enough for all the support they have availed me and especially the last few years and I'm so happy to have my new hearing aids and are able to finally hear appropriately again. My PCP recommended Dr Deborah Manchester in Arcadia. Front desk was friendly, other staff were wonderful. Dr Manchester tested my hearing after which we sat down to discuss results. She started by asking if I wanted to order hearing aid and I said no, I was not ready yet. I needed to process my new medical condition. As soon as she heard that, she stood up and to told me to come back when I'm ready. I tried to ask for advice but she was not interested. I felt that all she wanted was to sell a medical device with no desire to help patients. She had no compassion towards patients; she was cold and detached. It was all about selling and billing. I'm a retired CPA tax consultant so I understand the financial side of companies and their need to produce revenues, but I'm not going back to her clinic. read more

If you are looking for good hearing aids and good service, stay away from Hear MD and Dr. Deborah Manchester. She pitched some very expensive Phonak hearing aids to my elderly mother about a year ago, who is in a wheelchair, and promised to "take good care of her" and did anything but. I read the other 1-star review on this site, and our experience was similar. Don't be fooled by their response about that reviewer "not having the facts." Our experience was once we got the hearing aids, one of them instantly didn't work and we had to have another made and shipped separately. We went back and forth, dragging my mom in her wheelchair, five separate times to try and get the hearing aids to fit and work properly. After 45 - 60 days, we asked for a refund on one of the hearing aids which seemed to work out of the ear, but never worked while it was in the ear. Manchester refused, saying the 45 day window for return was closed. I then asked to have another one made, but she insisted that we keep dragging my crippled mother back and forth to the office to try and make the defective hearing aid work. We finally gave up, and have deeply regretted wasting $4,000 on these hearing aids. We currently can use only one side, and still struggle to get that one to work properly. Avoid this establishment, and don't let them try to blame the victim. Go someplace else where there are more 3 to 5 star reviews, and less reviews like this. read more

She is very thorough and patient in finding out the needs to best benefit those struggling with hearing loss. I think this is because she is personable, but also has her PhD.
