Sometimes when you redeem a Groupon you discover a terrific business or service you otherwise would not have tried. But OMG I wish I let this one expire and never redeemed. Came in for a stress reducing Swedish massage but instead therapist kept insisting "you tight" and commenced walking on my back so hard the wind was kicked out of my lungs. After waving her off from the back torture and saying "please stop and use your hands on my back" she relented. Longest hour of my life waiting for the Swedish technique which never came about. Don't bother, waste of time trying to book an appointment w/ a groupon. She says if you have a groupon you can't come at noon time it's my lunch. I said ok how about 1 pm, she says now w/ groupon you can come at 4pm. I complained to groupon about her crap attitude and my inability to book using a groupon. was able to trade it in for another groupon. I was looking for a good massage. It seems every time I find a descent masseuse they move to another location. Anyway I decided to give this place a try. I called at 9:55 am just before it opened to make an appointment. The girl on the phone said to come right over. I meet Amy inside. She was very polite and was there alone. She had to call someone to come in so she could do my massage. I had to wait about ten minutes before she came in. She apologized for making me wait. I really didn't mind as it was my day off. Amy is quite simply the best masseuse that I have had in a long time. She worked out all the knot's in my neck and back. I will definitely be back to see Amy for all of my massage's. At first I was skeptical about purchasing a Groupon for this place but I did it anyways. Then when I read the reviews I really wanted to cancel my appointment but I decided to go anyways. When I showed up a nice woman greeted me. There was a huge language barrier but I was able to tell her what kind of massage I wanted. I heard people saying she walks or their back and it wasn't a good experience. So to prevent not having a good experience I told her upfront not to walk on my back! I'm not sure what she was saying throughout my massage but she honestly gave me one of the best massages I've had in awhile. The only thing I recommend is to either have a translator on hand or someone else at this establishment that can speak and English a bit clearer so the massage can run more smoothly. read more

I got a Groupon and decided to try this place for some relief for lower back and hip pain I've been having. I tried calling to schedule an appointment, but communication was difficult so I used the online booking system instead. I showed up at the expected time, helped with some Groupon paperwork and got ready for the massage. There was a cd playing with about 4 songs that kept skipping. Amy started by explaining she would start with my feet - which I later realized meant her feet - she was walking on my back. I said this was too painful for the lower back pain I was experiencing and she kept asking if I was too cold. She got a few phone calls that she ignored (her phone was vibrating loudly) but then picked up one of them ON SPEAKERPHONE. This was another client trying to schedule a massage which was frustrating for her, and him, and me, because communication was difficult. The rest of the massage went ok. She was very friendly and tried to be helpful, but now, a day later, I'm in much worse pain than when I went to begin with. If you're looking for a friendly massage therapist to walk on your back, this is the place for you. If you're looking for a soothing, spa-type atmosphere, it is not. read more

The Healthway Spa is great. I had the best message. Amy asked me where I was soar or tight beforehand. She pointed out areas that needed to be worked out during the message and really loosened the muscles up. I left feeling great. The most flexibility I have had in years. I would never return to this place. Booking the appointment was not easy as the person setting up the appointment barely spoke English. When I got there, there was some confusion as to whether or not I had an appointment. Finally my name was found scribbled in a notebook. No questions were asked about health issues or massage preferences. Other places I have been to have you fill out a questionnaire if it's your first time. The massage began with the therapist walking on my back. This was not explained prior to the massage. It did nothing but stress me out. Numerous times I had to ask the therapist to lighten the pressure she was applying. Needless to say I couldn't wait for the session to be over. When I got home my back was covered with bruises from the massage and I was in severe pain for the next 3 days. I will never return to this place. If I could give it 0 stars I would. read more

Horrible experience. I bought 2 three set massages one for myself & the other for my daughter. We wanted a couples massage and they were only able to oblige the first visit. At the first visit, I paid the tip of 20% up front for both sets of 3 massages. We were able to get 2 of the 3 but was having trouble scheduling the last one. I kept calling and each time, the lady who does not speak English well kept telling me "busy, I'll call you back." She never did so I kept calling her to schedule the last massages. After going back and forth, because again, we wanted couples & she kept saying " the other person is in China" I made 2 separate appointments on Sat 5/11/19 as it was clear, we were not going to be able to do the couples. I made this last appointment Monday 5/6/19. At no time during our back and forth nor Monday when I made the appointment did she say I couldn't do it because the groupon had expired. I figured it was understood and because we were in communication since January/19, everything was cool. I go to the appointment today 5/11/19 thinking I'm going to have my Mother's Day massage, she tells me the groupon has expired so I can't do it unless I pay and additional $20.00 each. Why didn't she call me during the week to tell me this?? She could have called yesterday to let me know there's an issue. I have NEVER had this type of experience with a Groupon business. After trying to communicate with her because it was very difficult due to her language barrier, I left there livid, frustrated and without my massage that I paid for and tipped on. I'd like a credit for these last two massages that the business failed to deliver. I will never go there again nor recommend. read more
