Have been seeing Dr. Ojen Masrour for the past few years as my PCP. He is a kind and caring doctor that puts the interest and welfare of his patience as a priority. I have found all his staff to be pleasant, helpful, and professional. I recently had an office visit when a disrespectful client was giving the office staff a hard time. Want a lifestyle doctor that actually listens? You should read this review... Dr. Masrour has been my primary care physician since 2012. Most of my visits have been for a yearly physical or an occasional sickness. He books out physicals well in advance (a month or so) but always able to squeeze me in if I've ever gotten sick and need to be seen that day. Things that have always stood out to me: (1) Lifestyle approach to medicine, health and wellness (2) Staff has always been very helpful with referrals (through HealthNet HMO requirements) (3) Dr. Masrour listens and doesn't rush out of the room to get to another patient. Dr. Ojen Masrour is the best doctor I have ever been a patient of, and at almost 81 years old I have been to a "bunch". He is professional, knowledgeable and caring. The offices are immaculate and the staff are amazing! All are friendly and very accommodating and so respectful. I feel especially close to Malena as she administers my shots. Since getting the treatments I know longer have pain in my old knees, which is incredible! I feel great each morning and am so productive (when I choose to be). Here is my detail story, and you can decide it's worth it or not. I am a new patient. When I called to make an appointment on 8/12/2019, the staff got my insurance information and told me they need to verify the insurance information and after they verified, they will call me back to schedule the appointment. It will take about 2 days. My husband, who works at Blue Shield, told me that's not necessary, just told them my husband is already in the system, so I don't have to wait for the verification. I called the office on the next day (9/13), the person who answered my call said she does not have my information and told me the other girl didn't pass the insurance information to her. But she still helped me made the appointment on 8/29. On 8/29, I showed up earlier to complete the new patient form and all, but still didn't get to see Dr. Masrour 25 minutes after my appointment. Which is fine and kind of normal. Dr. Masrour is great, he actually look through all my forms! I asked for 3 referral, and he explained to me that it will take 2 business days for the staff to submit the referral. If I haven't heard anything in 10 business days, you should contact Regal/Lakeside Group directly for the referral. It is 9/12 today (after 10 business days), as instructed by Dr. Masrour and the phone system, I called Regal/Lakeside Group to check on the referral status, the customer service rep told me they haven't received any referrals yet. After I hung up, I called Dr. Masrour's office to inquire about the issue. Sunset is the girl who is submitting all the referrals simply told me that they are short of staff, and she only do this kind of work on Fridays. Normally, I don't mind waiting for one more day, (Friday, 9/13) but because her tone on the phone, so I told her I've been waiting for 10 business day, Dr. Masrour told me it only took you guys 2 business days to submit the request. Sunset gave Elizabeth the phone, and Elizabeth told me she will make sure they will submit the request today. Let's see if they will submit the request today or not. read more

This place is a joke.. 1. The receptionist are ALL very rude and condescending! 2. The receptionist do not even know their own polices. 3. The phone reception is a horrible! 4. They did not have me in their system, even though it is THEIR system. For a whole month I kept calling and asking if I was in their system and they kept on telling me that it would be 3 more days until I got upset and they told me to call another number to have me put in their system. Now if I owned this office I would make sure that my clients were taken care of, quickly and respectfully. They asked me to call them and continue to ask them, every day, if I was in their system. Then when I did get into their system they tell me that the doctor cannot see me for 2 months because I am a new patient? Unfortunately I will never be able to tell you how good or bad the doctor is. The fact that he has such inept people working for him is a judgement I am making of his character. I hope someone else has better luck with this office. OUTRAGEOUS ! .. My family still goes to this Doctor. And I don't care if this upsets them either but the truth is the truth . #1. Last year when i went there I was automatically turned off when he started pushing Intravenous Vitamin treatments. Even my therapist thought this was just Tacky . I should have listened to her and my own Intuition . #2. I went in today, what a waste of time. What a joke. First thing they made me do is fill out some paperwork about some $20 fee if you request generic meds or something of that sort. #3. Went in today just to update my meds, take a uric acid test , basic updates. ****THE NEXT THING I KNOW**** They want me to fill out a form allowing them to require me to take a RANDOM DRUG TEST!!!!!! FIRST OF ALL .. I dont do drugs, yes I smoke Marijuana but that is apparently NOT what they are looking for .. HOWEVER I DO NOT NOR HAVE I EVER DONE ANY DRUG EXCEPT MARIJUANA .. EVER .. aand im 47. EVER .. For a Doctor to ask for random drug tests is OUTRAGEOUS... I goto a doctor for help not to be randomly drug tested. What in the he** is that??????? Seriously?? ITS THE PRINCIPLE OF IT ALL ... I found Dr. Masrour by accident. I was having surgery and I had only Doctor's that are Specialist in their fields until I met Dr. Masrour. I was sent to him by my surgeon to have a pre-op. The staff is professional and greets the patients with a smile. Dr. Masrour is an exceptional physician. It's not easy to find a Doctor that "listens to understand". At first, it doesn't appear that he hears you. But I assure you he does! As I have found with my journey to find doctors that can help me, I've learned how to root out the ones who can make a difference, not just for me, but anyone who'll take the time to see him and trust him. My medical care is very complicated, not easy by any means. There are no prescription drugs that can help, heal or cure my diagnosis. I love the fact that he is not trying to push traditional medications at me which I have found to be more harmful than the original issue or problem and instead he is considerate to alternative therapies, which do help me. "All" my specialist agrees with alternative therapy, IV therapy, being the best course of action for me. It took me 4 years to find a primary I like. Dr. Masrour does hear what you're saying to him and he evaluates the best action to take. For those of you that think IV therapy is unconventional ... please do some research. IV therapy is superior in many ways. Be an informed consumer of traditional pharmaceuticalcial medication. Research scholarly articles for pharmaceutical medication backlash. Just sad to say that the quality of customer service provided by the front office has really been disappointing. To get appointments patients have to wait over a month and we are told that it is what it is. Things have changed in the last year. All I needed was a 10 min pre-op appointment- which another doctor that was new to me was able to do without a 30 min "exam". Wanted two days I need for pre surgery planning. Total waste of time. Staff is horrible. They treat the older patients rudely and double and triple bill your insurance and collect on the balance that they say you owe. Messy messy Accounting department. They also refuse to call your insurance directly to resolve issues and will tell you it's your job to call your insurance company. Billing doesn't respond or return your calls, specifically Elizabeth. Beware of this office. They have poor ethics and morals. The least helpful office staff when it comes to insurance issues and questions. I hated going there and still despise dealing with the billing mess they created for me. The best thing Dr. Masrour did for his practice was the hire of Joseph Reddick as his Nurse Practitioner. Joseph has treated myself, my two brothers, my parents, and five family friends. All all agree that Joseph is personable (great bedside manner), is knowledgeable with diagnoses and med management, shows a general interest in our well being, and is someone we all trust. My father has a lot of medical conditions and almost no veins left for blood tests. Most people spend at least an hour taking blood due to this. Joseph was able to find a vein to give my father a shot. The poking for a vein and pain is something my father no longer needs to worry about. I would recommend Dr. Masrour and Joseph Reddick to everyone I know. Thank you!!!! To answer the guy questioning my review, I think you should stick to your own reviews and worry less about others. Make sure your doctor can interpret lab results/symptoms: not just read them. That's why they're paid well and our insurance is so high. Hold them to this standard as it is their most important job. Ojen Masrour is a friendly and knowledgeable guy but as a doctor I stopped going to him because he did not perform his #1 medical duty in this regard. In short he and his team handled my prescription unprofessionally. First: they prescribed a drug for me to take every day for the rest of my life after looking at a lab result and not without talking to me. They called me and left a voice mail saying they are prescribing a new drug that impacts my lifestyle. No patient consultation! Second: I called to get a consultation. Instead of seeing Dr. Masrour they set me up with his NP. When I came in for my appointment the NP was very short with explanation and said he didn't have time to debate/determine whether the drug is appropriate for me. Just that It's better to be safe than sorry and it's "up to you whether you take it or not." That's your medical explanation!?! Better safe than sorry?!?! Where is your medical interpretation of my lab results?!? Never using these guys again. I want a doctor who doesn't prescribe based on better safe than sorry but actually understands the patients symptoms to make an educated interpretation of my lab results and symptoms. It's been a year later and I don't take that med and I'm fine. To be less vague: my thyroid levels were not in the normal zone. They were in the gray zone. In the gray zone you should only get a prescription if you also have symptoms. I didn't have any symptoms. The prescription doesn't hurt you at such a low dose but you have to take it EVERYDAY on an empty stomach (for the rest of your life). It's not medical malpractice as I see it but it sure is lazy practice. Coupled with the NPs unprofessional/hasty/rude responses at my appointment. Hold your doctors to a higher standard of practice than these guys. read more

I am newly pregnant (6 weeks) and my insurance changes on January 1st. I have an HMO and this doctor was assigned as my primary care doctor. With this particular insurance, I cannot self-refer to an OBGYN so I need to see a primary care doctor and get a referral. I called today to get an appt in early January for referral purposes. I asked if there was any way I could see the doctor via telehealth and the answer was no, that I had to be seen in person. But, I was informed that there were no appointments available until the end of January. I told Sylvia, the receptionist, that I am already 6 weeks pregnant and need to see the doctor sooner as I will almost be entering my second trimester at the end of January and my first pregnancy was high risk. She was unsympathetic, said "that's just how it works" multiple times, and refused to help me AT ALL with an obviously awful situation. I literally have no idea what to do. I will not ever step foot in this office. I don't care how many rave reviews he has. What a cold, heartless staff. read more
