I was supposed to have my procedure (SURGERY) in the morning and the staff calls me today less than 24hrs prior and canceled my morning surgery time because in their words "we tried to call you and couldn't reach you." I WAS IN THEIR OFFICE at 9am this morning for a PRE-OP appointment. Why the heck would you cancel my surgery? Good riddance. I won't be back. Care quality is zero. read more

I have had the absolute best Experience at West Medical. From start to finish my experience was very pleasant. I had surgery 1/9/24 and have lost 13 lbs already!! Maria, Cameron, the girl with the pink hair in the front office, the nurses and Doctors all made me feel comfortable and at home the entire time of my surgery. They all follow up and have answered all of my questions and gone above and beyond. My incisions are so small you can hardly even tell I had surgery. I really recommend West medical! read more

I have had two vein procedures here and am having my third tomorrow. Everyone I have encountered has been very pleasant and professional. The front office, the nurses, the OR staff, the ultrasound technicians, everyone. Dr.Mikhail is amazing. He has is very knowledgeable and has a wonderful bedside manner. Won't make this review too long. I had bariatric surgery with them and should not have ignored all of the red flags during the initial process: poor communication, disorganization, misinformation, incompetence, and lack of professionalism. After surgery, I've had some complications (nothing serious as far as I know) and no one seems to care. They won't provide you with contact information for the surgeon, only midlevels who don't even listen or call you back with promised follow-up. They will schedule appointments for you without even telling you...probably hoping that you no show so they can charge you. They do not care about patients, only the payment. Definitely look elsewhere and avoid this practice. read more

I would rate this business zero stars if I could. I had an appointment at 2:30 they asked me to get there at 2:15 to fill out the paperwork. I arrived paid the parking went into the office was there by 2:15 got my paperwork filled it out and waited in the lobby. I waited in the lobby until 2:50 when finally somebody escorted me into a private room. I waited in that private room for 20 minutes before I popped my head out and asked if someone was going to come in and see me. A nurse said let me go check I'll be right back. She never came back and at this point it's now 3:30 I had been sitting in this place of business since 2:15 and not being seen by a doctor. This place is extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend going here at all. Absolutely not a care in the world that you are waiting. Not one time did somebody come in and say Sorry we're running behind will be with you in a moment....absolutly nothing!!! read more

So just like everybody else you do research before you get a procedure done. The doctor is board certified. But with all this craziness that is going on right now I had to do my consultation over zoom the doctor and the nurses were very friendly. So I finally went in to my appointment today and everybody was really nice. I had the spider vein procedure done on my legs. Julie was the nurse that performed it along with Larena they were so nice we talked the whole time . Dr Mikhail stopped in the see how the procedure was going. Very nice doctor. If it was possible to give 0 I would. Please DO NOT go through west medical, ask your doctors for referrals. They suck at communication, I'm the one that always has to call and ask for an update on everything. I saw the commercial on T.V and called for information and to see if they accept my insurance, over the phone they said yes that it is "in-network" and right away started the process which was to talk with a phycologist which was only a $15 co-pay. After when I cleared I had to call back and ask for an update then they said they are waiting for insurance to approve after waiting another 2 weeks I called and they Said insurance had approved the sleep study and the endoscopy we scheduled me and I requested the days off work,they called the night BEFORE to tell me that they had to reschedule me which I was fine with we reschedule another 2 weeks out because I have to request it off work and ONCE again they called to reschedule me the NIGHT before again this time I was pretty upset because they literally call the night before to inform you of these things, I had to but in another request at work (2 more weeks) and I did let them know it was a BIG inconvenience to be having to request days off for nothing. The sleep study and the endoscopy are the ONLY 2 things I have done and I checked my insurance app and it says I'm $80,000 In debt with then. I just received my first bill of $800 for service that they said it was "in-network" right now I want nothing to do with them and I am looking of ways to report them to the BBB this should be illegal they are only after money. Go and start your journey anywhere else but west medical. read more

I first went to West Medical for a gastric balloon. When that did nothing for my weight loss, Dr. Shabatian offered to do the gastric sleeve surgery. I was thrilled, especially since my BMI was on the lowish end of obese. Dr. Shabatian is wonderful--so kind and supportive. The nurses and office staff at West Medical are also great, and the office is efficiently run. I never had to wait long. My surgery was March 1, 2018, I began counting calories, consuming between 1000 and 1400 a day. This worked well for me since I still ate my favorite foods, but in smaller portions. What had before felt nearly impossible became doable, and I steadily lost weight. In the 25 weeks following my surgery, I lost 50 pounds, getting down to 136. I went back to West Medical to see Dr. Shabatian in October 2018. He was so happy to see my success. I was delighted when he requested permission to post before and after photos of me on his website. Since then, I have lost another 16 pounds and am currently at 120. I am at my goal weight and couldn't be happier. I have more energy than ever, and I was able to discontinue thyroid medication. I recommend West Medical and Dr. Shabatian highly. I am so grateful that he agreed to do my gastric sleeve surgery. read more

Dr Hooman Shabatian performed the gastric sleeve surgery on me. I ended up getting a leak. I had to have a stomach drain for the infection and abscess, a stent placed and a picc line for TPN for 6 weeks. It's been almost 6 months since surgery and I'm still sick and in pain every day. read more

Amazing Staff! Amazing Doctors! You don't usually get a healthcare team that checks up on you regularly, and makes sure you are doing well! My Case Manager: Maria was amazing from start to finish! Very encouraging, and was always on top of things! My nutritionist: Leora was out of this world, amazing! She created a safe space to discuss my habits and how to get into better habits! Always a positive influence every time we talked! I have severe anxiety, so day of surgery was definitely nerve racking! My Surgeon: Dr. Shabatian was calm and steady, no stress no fuss! My Anesthesiologist: You usually don't interact much with these guys, but he was very calming before! His name slips my mind, but he was definitely a calming presence when needed! My OR nurse: Hands down a good human, that really seemed to want to get to know me! She made sure I was okay, and calm! I once again forget her name (I'm horrible with names!) The floor nurses were incredible, in particular my night nurse. He was super diligent, and worked to make sure I was comfortable. ( In a world of Task driven/ busy nurses it's nice to meet one that can balance that all.) Thank a nurse next time you interact with them! I interacted with multiple healthcare practitioners while I was in the hospital! All of them making sure I was doing well! Every single one of them were kind people, took the time to stop and talk with me! (You rarely get that anymore!) the world is crazy busy, so when people take the time to actually listen, it's a nice change! I still have people still reaching out, making sure I'm doing fine. My surgery was 12/6. I know some people that get the gastric sleeve, and then the care green ghost them! I'm thankful that isn't the case here! read more

I had my first appointment today at West Medical in Rancho Cucamonga for my varicose veins and although I haven't had my treatment done yet I still want to leave this review for the Dr. and his office staff. They were all very professional, very friendly and all of them made sure I was comfortable thru the ultrasound and the rest of my visit. They were very thorough and direct about any questions or concerns I had. I felt very comfortable with them and will be moving forward with my vein removal. I won't trust my legs to anyone else, as my legs are displayed on camera for my livelihood. Dr. Mikhail is brilliant and caring. From examination to surgery to post op. He is a leader in the industry - he wrote a textbook on anesthesiology that is used in most major medical schools. Dr. Mikhail has superior technique, so much that he's performed revisions from other botched vein work. He's affable and compassionate. And he makes sure that his staff is also at the top of their game. *procedure was vein phlebotomy on one leg, and vein ablation on the other. We were not happy with their services. First they say that they accept all insurances to get you in the door. Once you are there its not true. By this time you are already excited to do the program and you don't want to change your mind and you pay a price. Then the waiting time is horrible, 4 hours wait to get the procedure done. Then after that most of the visits were more than an 1 hour to 2 hour wait, until we started to complain. Its very painful and then afterward is worse. I wanted to leave a review on the positive experience I have had working with everyone at West Medical. I had my initial consultation for the gastric sleeve last October and the process was simple and easy. Everyone that worked to help me get to the very last step was wonderful and did an exceptional job. The staff was always professional and eager to help. I had my surgery a week ago and today the surgeon called for a follow up just to see how I was going, I think that's wonderful for the doctor to set aside time to see how things are going after surgery. This was the biggest waste of my time and 2 hours I will never get back. When I first went to their website I filled out their "Free Insurance Verification" which didn't tell me anything so when I called them I gave them all my info and they told me that they accepted my insurance, which was great so I made an appointment for my wife and I. So we went to our appointment and before we filled out any paperwork or met with anyone they offered us a free Starbucks gift card if we gave them a good review on yelp which should have been the first red flag. After filling out a book of paperwork they called a bunch of us into a room for their seminar where they talked about the different ballon procedures but said that most were not covered by insurance or didn't really work. Then the doctor talked about the sleeve and nothing else and when someone would ask about something else he would just say way it was bad and push for the sleeve again. After the seminar they called each one of us out one at a time to get our height and weight and then moved us each to rooms for a physical which contained a bunch of questions the we already answered in their book of paperwork. It felt like we were a herd of cattle or on an assembly line. After a extremely short physical from the doctor they sent someone in to talk to us about the insurance which felt more like a sales pitch. It was at this point we found out that THEY DIDN'T ACCEPT OUR INSURANCE! We wasted two hours of our life to find this out after being told that that did accept it. They offered to send us to a doctor in Orange County which is not close to us or give us a "good deal" if we wanted to just pay for the whole thing. Don't do the same mistake as we and go someplace else! (Response to Maria) We called to make sure you took our insurance and even doubled checked. After going into your office to find out that what we were told was a lie and wasting our time the only thing offered to us was to find us a doctor an hour and a half away who would do a payment plan for us. Again would have been nice to just tell us from the start when we provide our insurance info that it wasn't accepted instead of wasting out time and trying to bribe us with a gift card for a good review. read more

Great experience and great customer service! Everyone is extremely welcoming and informative. I had a clotted area of veins on the back of my left knee..I was in pain for awhile and it also causes me major insecurities because of how it looked. I went to see a vein specialist who basically told me to live with it and it's normal. so I did, for years. I was recommended to west medical by a former employee. I am so happy I went. They may be good at bariatric surgery, I don't know. What I do know is that month ago I made an "appointment" to consult with a doctor to determine if this surgery is right for me. I spent the time in between writing down a list of my concerns in preparation for today. I got there at 10 to 11 am and was surprised at how full their waiting room was. I thought that was a good sign. When they called my name I was brought to a small room with about 14 chairs. What?! One by one more people were brought in until it was packed with 13 adults, a child and me. Surprise! It was a "seminar" where a doctor eventually came and spoke to us - from the doorway. He told us how the surgery was done and asked if anyone had questions. I did NOT sign up to learn something Dr. Google can give me from the comfort of my own home. He then said that we would each be seen for private 1 on 1 conversations. Meanwhile I got to wait in a room where two of the people (who did not arrive together) openly discussed their current sobriety from heroin and meth. 2.5 hours after my 11 am appointment start time and I was STILL waiting. I realized that a place that has such care for patients time and comfort is totally the place I want to cut into me - even if only lapriscopically. I got up and left and told the front desk never mind. I guess i need to research better before going to a "doctor" so that i can make sure I'm with someone who cares. read more
