My son was scheduled for a dental procedure with sedation at this office. I was surprised to learn on the day of the procedure that the dentist performing it was not the same dentist who evaluated him initially. I was also not informed beforehand that the procedure would be done by a general dentist rather than a pediatric dentist. In addition, I had only been informed about nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") for sedation. Oral midazolam was not discussed with me in advance, and I only learned about it when I specifically asked what medications would be used. As a parent, I believe clear communication and informed consent are extremely important, especially when sedation is involved. I decided not to proceed with the procedure because I did not feel adequately informed and it was not communicated that the dentist performing the procedure will be a different one that performed initial evaluation. read more

Type of Care: absolute worst service I have ever received. My appointment was at 11am, took them over an hour before I got my X-rays done. After my X-rays were completed, took them another hour for their doctor to looks at my teeth (she took 2-4 minutes looking at my teeth). At 1PM (after waiting 2 HOURS) they informed me they didn't have time for my scheduled routine cleaning (that was SCHEDULED FOR 11AM) because it was the staffs lunch time. I advocated that my appointment was scheduled for 11am and asked why they took so long, and they had no answer, only an insincere apology. I called out of work, was extremely patient, and I couldn't have even get my teeth cleaned even though I had an appointment If you have good insurance, DO NOT COME HERE. I recently got good insurance and came here because I used to come here as a teenager but never again will I step in this cheap, lousy, poor staffed establishment. Zero stars read more

I went here for a regular 6 month check up and the person who was doing my x-ray and clean up was being very aggressive. When she was brushing my teeth she was quickly and painfully brushing my teeth. Missing many spots and then later on was very aggressively flossing my teeth to the point where my eyes were watery. I have been here for a long time so I can't say every one that works there is like that. The service is usely nice but this is the second time I get someone who is aggressively cleaning my teeth. read more

What a nightmare. There administrative staff are just INCOMPETENT!! Since February, 2025 of this year, I have been trying to get 2 teeth orally removed. I have a HMO and first off they referred me to an dentist that only takes PPO's. I have an abscess on both teethe and I'm in constant pain. So, the referred office they sent me to only excepts PPO's and that I needed to go back to my main dentist (Healthy Smiles) to have them send me to an office that takes HMO's. I called Healthy Smiles and let them know that I needed to change ortho dentist to an HMO one. They told me okay, no problem. I set the apt with an HMO ortho office that I requested to go to, I have been to them before and for sure know that they take my insurance. A month later and two days before my ortho doctors apt, the office calls me saying they don't have the referral or the auth # to see me from Healthy Smiles. So, I call my insurance to see if I could get it all changed around to the correct office. They stated I needed to go back into my main office to get a new referral, since my other referral expired. So, I did. three weeks later. I went in to Healthy Smiles, had my teethe reevaluated so, they could send my referral to the ortho doctor that has seen me before and I know they take my insurance They gave me a referral card. Which I took to the referred doctors office . Set my next apt for over a month away. I think all is well. The day before my apt, I get a call from the ortho office that they still had not received my auth# to see me. I then decided I would call my dental insurance company again, to see what was going on. They told me that my Auth # was no longer valid again and that I needed to go back to Healthy Smiles to get reevaluated for another auth# again. Mind you this whole time I have an abscess and my two teethe hurting. Now, I'm pretty upset. So, I call Healthy Smiles and complain about all that has happened. They had the nerve to tell me that my referral was sent to a totally different office all together. They gave me the new ortho dentist office number to call and see if they had my referral and auth number to complete the work needed on both teeth. Healthy Smiles also stated that it was my insurance who decides on where I go on referrals not them. I call this new office to have them check to see if they have my authorization referral. I got hung on. NOT GOING TO LIE. IM LIT right now. Its been months with this abscess. I don't recommend this dentist office at all. I will be switching to a new main dentist. Update - Same day: Received a call from Healthy Smiles from the man who was trying to help, however really didn't help - about my one star review. So, I explained everything that happened and in the middle of our conversation, a women jumped in - didn't get her name. She jumped in not to apologize, just to say they did there part. In my opinion, both Healthy Smiles and my insurance company Liberty did not communicate to each other or myself. She also stated that she was glad that it all was fixed. The only office that was on it was Kern Dental Specialties. FYI - I had to call Liberty again and had to get on with a manager to fix it all. Finally, someone who actually helped me get everything straightened out. He extended my referral for another 6 months and made sure that it was sent to Kern Dental Specialties. Key to point - I spent my time calling all parties to see what the heck was going on. It was 4 hours total. I pay my dentist and my insurance money, so I don't have to do that. All in all my original one star still stands and I will be looking for another dentist office. What a horrible experience. I will be also reviewing Liberty as well. read more

Took my daughter in for a 9:20am appointment. I've never had any issues with this office until today. The wait alone was over an hour and people that came in with appointments after us were being seen before us. When i asked the receptionist what's taking so long all she could tell me was that they were "backed up" and if i want i can reschedule. I know it's not her fault but the establishment needs to do better with their time management. I had to leave because i had to go to work so my daughter didn't get the treatment she needed. So my 3yr old son had to get some fillings. Since he's so little they said they had to use their Papoose board for the safety of the child & dentist- Fine. So be it. However. Here's the biggest issue I have. 2 weeks ago I was told that they would use some form of sedation, & they didn't they supposedly used the "laughing gas" and it was "irritating" my son. They never came out to communicate that with me that there was a slight change in the initial treatment plan- which is fine that there was a change, just would of liked the communication to be there. And instead they thought "eh, just numb him & getting it done" I had our appointment at 8am, didn't leave until shy of 10:30am. I waiting about an hour into being there since we were called back relitivly fast for an update & I was told "he was crying a little bit but they're almost done" well another 30-45 minutes ago by so I walk back there myself and I don't even get 1/2 down the hallway & I hear my son screaming so loud I can hear it over the room door being shut (mind you the ONLY door shut, while other kids were getting different forms of treatment done), over the music they had blaring so loud I could hear from the waiting room to begin with. They don't allow parents into the back usually so me going back there the way I did was the only way I was gonna be able to make a point. I allowed the dentist to finish what he started since if I left my son would of had an open cavity in his mouth worse then what we started with. I told the dentist I will not be leaving the room now. And with me being in there while they finished up, yes he was still upset & crying but he definitely wasn't screaming like he was before I was in the room. So I'm not upset my son was crying & upset. I'm upset & so disappointed that there was absolutely no form of communication this time around & it took me barging into the room to help my son. I wish I would of taken a picture of him, he was beat red, face wet from crying & his hair was all messed up all while strapped down. Not a familiar face in sight just 3 random men, no TV on to even try distracting him a little bit. All my 3 year old saw & heard were some strange men, drills & some loud ass music while strapped down. I will never be returning, and this is the review everyone will hear from me. It's extremely unprofessional of you guys to not communicate with the parents of the patient if something has changed regardless of what we signed prior & when concerns are being addressed all i was given are some BS excuses & absolutely no accountability taken. read more

If i could leave zero stars i would, this place is so horrible, my son had an appt at 9am and they took him back at 10:30am and left him in the room until 12pm. then they said they called his medication and they never did. we called the pharmacy. They have forgotten about me twice. I waited an hour and a half WITH an appointment. The second time I called to make an appointment for a crown. The girl told me they had time for me at 2pm for an X-ray. I checked in at 1:53pm WAITED two hours. I asked how much longer i had to wait i was only getting an X-ray done. They asked if i had signed in, like yeah duh i know the drill. She then asked if i checked in with her... i checked in with the other girl but regardless i put my name on the list. The back staff is fine but just the receptionist alone (specifically at the 3rd and 4th computer) are always off in they're own world. read more

Don't go here! Wait time is always ridiculous because some how they are always "short staff". And that's if you can even get an appointment because we're always over booked so even if your child needs treatment you'll be waiting over 2 months to do so! My 2yrs old was literally going stir crazy having to wait over two hours for her treatment. Appt was a 10am we weren't seen until 12:10! This place is amazing! The ladies in the front and in the back are both polite and friendly. I've been raving about this place to my entire family and now they want to switch over. I've had nothing but a great experience when I go. They schedule me according to my preference and there have been times where I need to go in quick cause of a tooth ache. All I need to do is call and they check for any cancellations. The two doctors there are so friendly and made my fear of going to the dentist go away. I do not feel good about this place. I've been going here for years. I've always had perfect teeth. Then, one year I supposedly had an old filling and I trusted them to 'replace' it. When they did, a few days later I had a horrible pain on the filling they replaced. It led to them claiming I needed a root canal. I believe since they weren't making money off of me, they had to destroy one of my fillings and charge me for a root canal since my insurance paid for cleanings and cavities. I am switching to another dentistry that I can trust and won't try and take my money. read more

Got recommended by our general dentist to them because they offer child dentistry. Upon arriving we were asked if we had an appointment which we said yes and that all the info should have already been sent out to them by our dentist. The receptionist Marylyn was extremely rude from the beginning she kept telling us she had no info even when we were on the phone with our dentist who on speaker phone told her all info was sent over she continued to be loud and rude and all this in front of my son. I asked to speak to someone else and she said no one would speak to me. I don't know if you were having a bad day Marylyn but please if you don't like your job find another were customer service is not a part of it because you suck at it. read more

***They are terrible with ROOT CANALS and CROWN procedure*** November 2017 I had a root canal and crown procedure done by this office. I paid nearly $1400 out of pocket for the worse experience of my lifetime. After coming home with my permanent crown, I had noticed that it didn't look right. There was a small opening between my crown and my gums. I was taken back because the crown itself felt fine and natural in my mouth but the small opening was noticeable and I knew it wasn't right. I called the office the next day and explained my concern and the receptionist told me to give it a couple of days. I called a week later and they told me I would have to pay for new scans and fees since my insurance wouldn't cover it. (**let me also add that they didn't inform me of payment plans that could've been offered for the procedure. I had to apply for a credit card to pay for this procedure**) So I just didn't go back. I was told by my new dentist (Aug 2020) that my crown was done incorrectly and it was exposed and causing decay. read more

I even called him complaining about wisdom tooth pain on the weekend, and he wrote be a prescription for antibiotics over the phone (they were not even open), and saved my weekend because I was in a lot of pain from an impacted, infected wisdom tooth. read more

Only 1 star because 0 stars isn't an option. The office staff is so unorganized! They quadruple booked appointments earlier this week. They can't find paperwork that was sent over ahead of our first appointment this week. My husband and I have missed a day and a half of work arguing with them over what is needed to have 2 teeth pulled for our foster daughter. They won't tell you anything until you show up for your appointment. Then they tell you they can't do the work they scheduled you for. If that's the case, why would they schedule the appointment in the first place? These folks seriously need to get it together. read more

I've been taking my child here for years & unfortunately I had a bad experience with the way they handle our personal information. My child was transferred to the adult side (First time on the adult side) & I was asked for my ID & her insurance card in the front desk which I handed to her ( office manager) I was given a a questioner to fill out. Upon my returning the questioner I noticed another ID & insurance card in plain view along with mine. I let the front desk know that's part of the privacy violation. You don't leave a persons information out in plain view like that. I asked for my ID & insurance card back. She said No, it needs to be scanned first, then it was covered & also said your Information is not visible. Yours is on the bottom & covered it more by then. It doesn't matter if mine is not visible or not you don't do that! She replied with the other girl has to scan it. Of course the other girl came back & scanned it & gave it back to me right away that person looked like she didn't want to be there either. Upon my child being called the front desk manager stops the coworker & said something to her which I found rude. I let that girl know If there was something that needed to be said to say it & they shouldn't have made it so obvious, it was uncalled for simply because I brought to their attention what they had done. However, everyone in the back was pleasant & after speaking to Yvonne she apologized & agreed personal information is a sensitive matter & everyone who goes there has every right to privacy. I'm not sure I want to go back even though one persons stupidity & rudeness should not speak for everyone it did leave a bitter taste overall that behavior was unprofessional & uncalled for. read more

* Front desk ppl: Not the aggressive costumer service ones, but some politeness there. *The Clinic: Very nice, modern and clean. that's one of the things I see before I get into any kind of clinic. *The Waiting Time: Within minutes you get in. * The Dentists staff,call you right away, very nice and friendly, they don't wait for Dr. to tell them what to do next, they now what is the next step to take. *Dr. Estrada, the best Dentist ever treated me before, I'm so thanks-full to God that I choose him, he gave me the right treatment, I went in @ 9:00 am and by 9:30 I was out, ready to have my breakfast, I never had an oral surgery that allows me to eat right away, I was surprise,believe me, this guy has the Saints hands, I didn't even feel the needle in my gums, i was numb and no pain at all. I strongly Recommend Dr. Estrada @ Healthy Smiles; cause He will make you smile again, not just with a good physical smile but with your heart also, you will be so happy to visit him; he is a well educated person, he won't go around telling you this and that about your teeth, he will go strait to the point; plus he's not money hungry, he see's your needs.
