I kept logging every meal and reporting back, only to be told to eat fewer carbs and move more. I'd feel guilty when I didn't have the "perfect" week. This approach never lasted beyond my appointments, and I'd eventually stop seeing them altogether. I even met with an endocrinologist and did several lab tests. I was convinced that something was wrong with me -- that I was broken. I considered myself someone who knew exactly what to do. By this point, I had a decent understanding of what to eat (and not to eat), how much, and so on. Between years of meeting with doctors and the endless information online about weight loss -- calorie counting, macros, weight-lifting, and trends like intermittent fasting or low-carb diets -- I thought I had it all figured out.
