Never in my professional career have I experienced such a rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful interaction from a healthcare provider. I contacted this office in a professional capacity to clarify information on a medical certification form completed by Gregory Trakhtenberg, Physical Therapist. The form had been completed hastily, and his last name was written so illegibly that I could not accurately determine it. My purpose for calling was simply to obtain clarification and a fax number so that I could assist our mutual patient. When I called the number provided on the form, I was repeatedly interrupted before I could explain the reason for my call. Mr. Trakhtenberg asked who I was, where I was calling from, and who I was calling for, interrupting my responses each time. When I stated that I was calling for Gregory and could not make out the last name written on the form, he immediately responded, "If you can't read, maybe you should go back to elementary school," and then hung up on me. What made this interaction even more surprising was that Mr. Trakhtenberg clearly speaks English as a second language. As someone who likely understands the challenges that can arise in communication, I would have expected a greater degree of patience, professionalism, and courtesy rather than ridicule and insults. This was not a personal call. It was a professional inquiry regarding documentation that he himself had completed. Regardless of the circumstances, there is no justification for speaking to another person in such a demeaning and disrespectful manner. Healthcare providers are entrusted with treating patients with professionalism, compassion, and respect. Based on this interaction, I have serious concerns about the level of professionalism demonstrated by this provider. If this is how legitimate professional inquiries are handled, I would be hesitant to trust this office with my healthcare needs. They transformed my shoulder from a squeaky hinge into a well-oiled machine. They pushed me just the right amount (which sometimes felt like they were channeling their inner drill sergeants) but always with a smile and a dose of encouragement that made me believe I could lift cars by the end of my sessions. Dr. Trakhtenberg put me back on my two feet . I had an injury to the back/hip region which caused my leg to go numb and was unable to walk properly . Waited a couple months to see if it would heal , it didn't so I tried numerous physical therapy places with no success and was feeling hopeless. Then I was recommended Dr Trakhtenberg. Unlike most physical therapists that just work for a company and rush you out of the office after telling you a couple exercises with no supervision of you actually doing them, Dr. Trakhtenberg takes careful time to first pinpoint where the problem area could be with his initial examination. He then spends a lot of time working on the injured area himself , something most other physical therapists did not do properly and rushed the process . This in combination with exercises that Dr. Trakhtenberg actually showed me and made sure I was doing correctly , helped me walk and even run completely normal like I was before this injury . I was referred to Feel Good Physical Therapy PC by my orthopedic physician for rehabilitation after complicated fracture of humerus. I was not very optimistic of movements restoration in my shoulder join, considering the severity of fracture. But after few sessions I realize that I am in the right place and my pessimism has faded. The office stuff is very friendly and welcoming, the facility is clean and well equipped. There is a team of professional, knowledgeable, dedicated and attentive physical therapists that truly care about your well-being.
