I am giving 4.5 stars, as we were driving from ATL to Ashville and moving ahead with the road trip…read morefrom Ashville. This place was such a blessing. If you choose the right timings for the massage it does do justice. We were very tired from the road trip and wanted to have a nice massage. What we thought was it would be lying down and then putting our feet in the water. The massage was on the chair, which was equally good. We had Nico as our massause. She was the best, so do book her if you can. IT is a bit pricey, but, if you really need one like we did, it is ok. The service was excellent. The location is apt. We chose 2 different kinds of soaks. I took the celebration and my husband took the Deep. Both were good and he was extremely relaxed, but like i said if it was a bit different the effects would have been better and worth the cost, regardless, it was a very relaxing experience and Nico took alot of care of us throughout the 45 mins soak and 20 mins each of the massage. The warm neck pillows was a plus!

The reception staff were extremely kind and helpful and went over the spa packages with us in detail. I chose the 45 minute foot soak concurrent with a 40 minute massage for $130. With this option, you get to pick two areas of massage. I chose Head, neck and shoulder, and foot and lower leg. We were able to hang our things up and store our shoes under a bench and switch to their slippers. After that, we were led to the foot soak area where they brought out a large copper tub filled with hot water and our soak of choice. The oils used in the foot soak made my skin feel extremely smooth, and the hot water was really relaxing. They did an amazing job with the massage; so much so that I dozed off! We also got a pot of tea split between us, and it included some local honey which was amazing. We had a great experience. Thank you to everyone at Wake for being so kind and welcoming and making everything a 10/10!

My best friend and I had a lovely time soaking at Shoji Retreat! This charming spa is in a forest…read moreoasis. They suggested we arrive 30 minutes prior to our scheduled soak. The day we went seemed to be short staffed, so things took longer than expected, but our experience overall was great. When they were ready for us, they guided us to the fitting rooms with showers. We were given shoes, robes, towels, and tote bags. There are no official lockers here, so you are welcome to take your tote with you into your private bath. The fitting room had everything you needed. When we were ready we had another long wait, but were invited to enjoy the sauna. They gave us refreshing mint iced washcloths for the sauna that I loved. They have a menu with a bunch of great add-ons, I decided to stick with the water, but my best friend got the coconut water. When our bath was ready, they showed us a map on how to get down to our soak. We walked down a beautiful hill path to our bath overlooking the forest. Even though we started late, they still gave us the full hour. The intercom system seems to be a bit older. There was an awkward moment where they tried to speak to us, but we couldn't hear them over the hot tub bubbles, when I went back to ask them what they said, they never replied. Besides that, we had a wonderful time. Be mindful that the drive up is a bit confusing, you'll want to do a mix of following their signs and your GPS. The experience is also a bit pricey for what it is, but I'm still glad I tried it with my best friend.

You can even stay overnight in their on site Japanese inspired lodges surrounded by quiet mountain forest. I experienced the tea side hot tubs outside and I didn't want to leave it was my favorite part of the experience along with the Savasana & Chea Massage Pods. I really feel liked I died and went to heaven in those chairs . If you are looking for a truly peaceful place that's great to visit even solo I say this one should be at the top of your list .
