I am giving 4.5 stars, as we were driving from ATL to Ashville and moving ahead with the road trip from Ashville. This place was such a blessing. If you choose the right timings for the massage it does do justice. We were very tired from the road trip and wanted to have a nice massage. What we thought was it would be lying down and then putting our feet in the water. The massage was on the chair, which was equally good. We had Nico as our massause. She was the best, so do book her if you can. IT is a bit pricey, but, if you really need one like we did, it is ok. The service was excellent. The location is apt. We chose 2 different kinds of soaks. I took the celebration and my husband took the Deep. Both were good and he was extremely relaxed, but like i said if it was a bit different the effects would have been better and worth the cost, regardless, it was a very relaxing experience and Nico took alot of care of us throughout the 45 mins soak and 20 mins each of the massage. Had my very first foot soak experience at Wake and it was so relaxing! We happened upon this place while waiting for our dinner reservation and they just ao happened to have openings. The reception staff were extremely kind and helpful and went over the spa packages with us in detail. I chose the 45 minute foot soak concurrent with a 40 minute massage for $130. With this option, you get to pick two areas of massage. I chose Head, neck and shoulder, and foot and lower leg. We were able to hang our things up and store our shoes under a bench and switch to their slippers. After that, we were led to the foot soak area where they brought out a large copper tub filled with hot water and our soak of choice. The oils used in the foot soak made my skin feel extremely smooth, and the hot water was really relaxing. They did an amazing job with the massage; so much so that I dozed off! We also got a pot of tea split between us, and it included some local honey which was amazing. We had a great experience. Lovely 45-minute foot soak and massage for me and my husband. When you arrive, you decide from a list of the different herbal blends to go in your foot soak. We chose both Signature Sooth with lavender, tea tree and clary sage, which smelled heavenly. We each had a provider who prepares the soak, then gives a 20- or 40-minute massage, either feet/legs, arms/hands or shoulders/neck. We both two -- shoulders/neck, then feet/legs. Very relaxing and renewing. The space is attractively decorated, low lights, comfortable seating, options for warm or cold beverages -- we had a pot of citrus hibiscus (decaf) tea, a lovely accompaniment. They offer a number of soaks that can be combined with 20 or 40 minute massages. I selected the old number 9 foot soak with Wintergreen and Rosemary. I added a 20 minute head, neck, and shoulder massage. They also offer foot and lower leg massages, as well as hand and lower arm massages. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. I had the most beautiful and relaxing experience at Wake Sanctuary with one of my girlfriends. As soon as we walked in you smell the glorious scents coming from inside. My husband had a business trip in Asheville, so me and another wife decided to hunt down fun things to do in Asheville. We spent the day on our feet and walked miles and miles through the town. Towards the end of the day, we decided to spoil ourselves. I googled spas earlier and found that there was a foot spa near the hotel. It was exactly what we needed to end the day. So the only reason I am giving 4 starts instead of 5 is because it is a little pricey. I totally get a high price for quality but I also feel like it is a little much here. On a whim, I opened the door to Wake Foot Sanctuary to if there was an opening. Upon entering, I was immediately relaxed and hoping one was available. I had a short wait and enjoyed browsing the beautiful Grove Arcade. I love a spa--any kind. Wake's designer was a genius. The aesthetics are perfect. The staff is classy and friendly. The attention to detail is on point --warm neck wrap, slippers, more hot water added, and another warm neck wrap during my service. I had the salt beach rose foot soak--lovely. I'd get it again! The surprise was the hot tea. It was delicious! It was served hot and stayed hot in the cast iron tea pot. No tea bag!!! What!!! The 20 minute massage was excellent! I'd definitely do it again even though $45 for 20 minutes is overpriced. I justified it by saying, "It's vacation!" This would be a great spot for weary travelers, honeymooners, those on a business trip wanting a moment of R&R, a special birthday treat, and anyone else. I slept like a baby that night! We booked an appt and went here for my sisters bday. Parking and getting to the location inside the Grove Arcade takes some time so plan accordingly. Upon arrival we were shown hooks to hang our coats and given slippers. The soak was amazing! You get to choose what kind of soak you want and they prepare it based on your choice. They roll this huge copper tub out to your seat and give you a warm neck wrap. Even though you are sharing the space with other people it was still very tranquil and relaxing. Since Covid, I've been to Wake Foot Sanctuary located in the Grove Arcade twice. It is a little different now in that you must wear a mask, less people are allowed at once and you get to keep the slippers. But everything else is the same. You still get the relaxing experience. When you arrive for your foot soak and any other services you booked, you are warmly greeted and provided the slippers to change into. There is a small shop will all kinds of self care items too that you can browse while you wait to be called back. The chairs in the sanctuary have towels covering the armrests so that they can be changed between customers. The foot soak you selected (there are many to pick from) gets rolled in and then once your feet get in the copper tub, it is time to relax. If you added on a massage the pampering starts soon after. They have foot and lower leg massages; back, neck and head massages; and another that focuses on the hands and arms. So you can get the service you are looking for. Each month, there is also a special. I had the mint hot cocoa package on my last visit. The cocoa and peppermint oils provided moisture to my feet. The foot massage is so relaxing too. At the end of the soak they put on a powder that is so soft. They have hot teas and cold beverages too. I'd highly recommend making reservations as spaces are more limited now with Covid. Also, make sure you wear clothing that is easy to move up to your knees as your lower legs and feet will be in the soak. Wake Foot Sanctuary is a great place for some Me time during Covid. read more

The receptionists were helpful in preparing me for the service and offered recommendations for specific soaks. The service area was beautifully decorated and the relaxing lighting and music set the tone for a wonderful experience. Everyone who declined massages got jealous when they saw how relaxed the people who had massages were. Regardless of massage status, though, they do use heated neck wraps, so you still get a nice relaxation experience that goes beyond the foot soak. My niece and nephew sometimes struggle to sit and be quiet for long periods, but as soon as we entered the soak room, they knew to be quiet, and they stayed quiet the whole time. The decor of that room definitely invokes a sense of calm and quiet. After failing to book a reservation for me and my wife I scheduled this one weeks in advance. We arrived here Sunday morning the meters were free but the arcade mall was closed. Do not go in unless it's 10:00am or you will get scolded by cleaning staff. Anyways we went inside Wake around 8:45am to get our slippers and to choose what you soak your feet in once the session starts. We were shown to comfortable chairs with our mint tea and ice waters. The water was the perfect temperature and was warmed up several times. I got my hands and forearms massaged, my wife got her feet massaged. Very very relaxing ! Let me preface my comments by saying that I've owned a public-facing company with national clients for ten years, and this is the second public-facing company that I've started and run. One of the lessons I learned in running those businesses is to make it as friction-less as possible for clients to do business with you. Wake Asheville has decided to blaze another trail and make it as difficult to get clients as possible. To book an appointment you have two options - call and leave a message if you want an appointment in the next couple of days, or, fill out a contact form and they'll get back to you. The contact form has a pulldown menu that doesn't account for one person or two people wanting an appointment, only groups. Perhaps groups are their primary, singular, ideal customer, and they ignore or don't want singles or couples. Maybe that would explain why we haven't heard from them. I filled out the form over two weeks ago and its been crickets. Perhaps it ended up in the circular file because we don't fit their target audience and they didn't have the time or courtesy to respond and tell us that. No only likes to be in limbo. So, they've lost two potential clients (and the recurring revenue that could have generated) and of course, the negative word of mouth that's now been generated among our circle of friends and aquaintances. Asheville isn't that big of a place. And competition being what it is, I don't understand how their business practice (call and leave a message or submit a contact form) makes for a viable enterprise. Has answering the phone gone out of style and I missed the memo? Are they short staffed so there's no one to check and respond to submitted contact forms? There's no doubt that if I didn't answer my phone or respond to submitted contact forms, I would have been out of business a very long time ago. So, I don't do business with companies that make me jump over hurdles to even talk with a human or who can't respond to a contact form. I suspect they have competitors...so we'll look for them instead. read more

Wake Foot Sanctuary is one of my top favorite things to do in Asheville! This was our second visit, and actually my husband's request, since he remembered loving it so much the first time! You go in and put on slippers, and pick your foot bath of choice. Since we were there a few days before Halloween we chose the seasonal themed one, which was "The Copper Haunt": orange clay and butterfly pea flower powder combined with vetiver and patchouli. We also got to pick a tea while we soaked (I chose Vanilla Chamomile, later learned it was from the brand The Tea Guys, and it was the best thing ever). We sat in huge armchairs while wearing sweet smelling neck warmers and soaking our feet in these huge tubs that rolled out for us. The attendants checked on us periodically to put more hot water into our baths, and then to come out and dry and powder our feet for us! You can also get various massages, which I have to imagine would be lovely. The room you're in is communal, but it's very quiet, with soft piano music playing. The morning we were there, there were three woman on one side of the room, while my husband and I sat on the other side. Much of the soaking is done with eyes closed and just feeling so relaxed and meditative, so it's very peaceful. It's in downtown Asheville so there are typical city noises outside, but the room is so cozy and there are floor-to-ceiling drapes everywhere so you don't see out (and you don't have passerbys gawking at you). It's just wonderful. A must-do every time we visit Asheville during cooler weather! read more

We booked two appointments with reception and came in the next day for our appointments. They do have space for walk-ins but they were fully booked when we came by! The staff member who facilitated out foot soaks was incredibly kind, not too chatty and attentive -- the perfect balance. The entire facility in Asheville was extremely calming and it was a high end experience all around for a very reasonable price! I would recommend trying Wake to anyone in Asheville who wants to fit in a little extra relaxation into their stay. Treat yo self! My wife turned me on to this place since I'm not really a spa type of guy but this place rules! After a long day of walking around Biltmore this place was such a relaxing treat. We've been here before a couple of times and it's so relaxing to just sit back, soak your feet and get a good foot and leg massage. I love being able to pick out what foot soak you want. I'm not sure if there's any real difference to the offerings but I like being able to pick out what scents or oils I prefer. Once you remove your shoes you go back to the sanctuary, enjoy a nice relaxing beverage of choice, enjoy a warm towel on your face or neck. I highly recommend getting the add on massage since it really makes the experience. It takes it from good to great. You'll feel so relaxed afterwards. This place is also incredibly good about masks during covid. Guests and workers are required to wear masks which in Asheville is honestly a rarity. I don't care about wearing a mask in a close quarters space, even a spa-like environment simply because you don't know people's vaccination status. I'm happy to wear a mask since you're close to the foot spa specialist to keep them safe as well as myself. I really love this place. I'm so happy to see they're doing well during covid.
