Imagine a sunshiney bright friday afternoon, the dreaded Valentines Day to boot. My wife and I had decided to book some soak time. Their website was easy to use, with clear pricing & the option to book appointments online. They are very responsive on their FB post comments, which was appealing to me. I love me a business that allows me to communicate and transact without a phone call! A little background, this was our first time soaking in any type of float chamber. But we have done many soaks at a variety of hotsprings. While I'm 100% aware they are two different things, we expected it to be similar-ish. I think they recommend arriving at least 15 min early. We were running late but still arrived about 7 min early. We checked in with sufficient time to complete waivers, use the bathroom and get a quick rundown. They ask you to watch a "first-timers" video, which is available on their website and they email it ahead of time also. The video helped a LOT with helping us know what to expect. Our float rooms were right next to each other. The chamber light was not functioning in my room, which wasnt a huge deal, but for a $90 soak- I expect all the bells & whistles. My hair is colored, I was offered a gray towel (which I was absolutely fine with). Unfortunately they forgot to give it to me before I realized when I was already undressed. I ended up just not drying my hair because I didnt want to stain the towels. The video & the employee both informed us that there would be music for 10 min at the beginning of the soak, then music would come on to tell you your time was up. I didnt hear any music at all, but tried to just relax and enjoy the soak. Ultimately, since I didnt hear music at all, I was stressing throughout the entire soak about how much time I had and how was I going to know when the soak is over - because I couldn't hear any music. It turned out that my wife's room didnt have music either. It sounds silly, but the lack of music truly was a HUGE bummer and after departing, we both agreed that neither of us were able to completely relax. My wife ended her 90 min soak after about 30-40 min because she couldn't relax and was feeling kind of sea sick. I ended mine after about 60 because i was tired of checking the time every 20 min. The facility was beautiful, very clean, & comfortable. The staff was friendly. Ultimately, it was extremely pricey for a soak, and the lack of music & burnt out light truly dampened the experience significantly. I think we will stick with the hot springs & Epsom baths at home. read more

I drive by Healing One all the time and have even commented to my boyfriend that I was curious about what type of business would be in the townhouses-turned-strip mall. However, it wasn't until a Facebook ad for Healing One and theIr Valentine's Day special for a 60 minute float and 60 minute massage for two appeared on my newsfeed that I understood what the business was. I was immediately super excited, because I didn't think Reno had a float place! I showed it to my lovely boyfriend and he surprised me with booking an appointment for us. I was eager to see the aesthetic of the business inside (considering the outside always struck me as odd). I was pleasantly satisfied with the "chill lounge" and the laid back and welcoming environment. I was worried it would be too hippie dippie for me, but the staff was super professional. I like that iPads were used to read and sign the waiver forms. This was my first sensory deprivation float experience, and my biggest worry was that the facility would be gross. That was not a problem! The tank, shower, changing area, and bag to place your clothes in were spotless. The float itself was really nice. I think I would be able to get to a deeper sense of relaxation on the next go around. I want to state my disclaimer now--I have had sinus infection issues (mostly due to a weaker sinus system due to smoking), and I did not think that water in my ears would cause any issues as my sinus problems have never affected my ears. I ended up using the vinegar solution at the end of my float, but I believe I let water sit in my ear for a couple of days and I ended up with strep throat. I do not blame Healing One for this at all. I should have worn the ear plugs knowing that I have impaired sinus. My boyfriend did wear his earplugs and had no issues with discomfort in his ears or sinuses. After the floats were over, we went next door (you have to go outside) for our massages. Even though it was a couples package, I actually liked the fact that we each got to be alone during our float as well as for our massages. Distance makes the heart grow fonder I suppose. Anyway, Lisa was a amazing. She also did energy healing throughout the massage. It really made an impact. My posture has actually improved since my session with her! I was impressed that she felt the energy that stuck between my ankle and knee which had old injuries to both. I hope to go back to Healing One at some point and float again (with earplugs). I also think that this is a really neat date for couples who have been together for awhile as a way to have a unique individual experience that you can share and relate to together. read more

I just did a 90 minute soak in the big open float room. Chaz greeted me immediately and remembered my name. He showed me around the new Building and it is very cool! 2 chill lounges! You can hang out after your soak to come back to reality with tea, or water, books, and cool stuff like crystals. The float tanks are perfectly clean and water temp is just right! It's taken me a bit to write this review because I've been trying to wrap my head around my experience at Healing One. I went at the recommendation of my Dad the weekend before my marathon. He suggested a float would help me recover and feel better for my race. It definitely helped my body physically feel better, but the experience was also so much more than that. The float felt like a spiritual experience. It helped me feel connected to myself and I'm not even sure how it was possible.... didn't even know it was something I needed! But I'm so thankful for this experience.z I started out the float with the lights on and the door cracked, but then I closed the door, and I eventually felt comfortable to just turn out all the lights. I highly recommend doing this at your own pace and do what feels comfortable. Then after you're done they have a seating area with loose leaf teas and water so you can hang a little longer after your float. And the cleanliness was outta this world! First they make you shower before you start your float. But the room was so clean as soon as I stepped in! The shower wasn't even wet from the last person to float. That's a small detail but one I really appreciated. I can't wait to go back again soon! read more

Visited Reno on vacation and had always wanted to try a float tank. I called several weeks in advance to book a time. The staff was extremely helpful in explaining the services and helping to choose the best experience for me. The float was an intense experience. I could probably become addicted to floating. I bought a float membership for my hubby for Christmas, and excited as he was to begin, before he got a chance to float he sustained a knee injury that required surgery. So, per Dr's orders, no soaking the incision site & reduced mobility for 8 weeks!~ We were bummed, but the guys at Healing One couldn't have been nicer or more helpful! They allowed me to put his membership on hold, saving his credits until he could get back on his feet. Now that he is, he was able to enjoy his first float appointment and loved it! The larger float room accommodated his still-healing knee, and little extras like robe, shower gel and earplugs makes enjoying a float appointment pleasant without hauling your whole shower caddy along! The environment is relaxing, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and truth is, I'm a little jeally and just might poach a float for myself! My 15 year old daughter and I experienced our first float tonight. The staff was wonderful. It has a quiet tranquil atmosphere. I enjoyed the feeling of being weightless though I will say it drew attention to my neck discomfort which I plan to address one of these days...I wasn't able to stay in for more than 30 minutes because I was cold. I will do it again if I am able to have a warmer experience. I also worked prefer no music. The place was clean and well kept and the sitting areas to drink tea afterward were really nice. My daughter enjoyed it but agreed she was cold as well. I am hoping they can adjust that for clients so they can be care free when floating. read more

I have been going to Healing One for several years (time for a review!). Chaz and the team are always welcoming and kind. My favorite masseuse is Melody. Since I found her, no other therapists can compare. Her touch is soft but powerful... when i say "too much pressure" or "more pressure" she always listens and adjusts accordingly. This place makes me very sad and upon reflecting why I gave it 1 star, I feel the need to explain. The owner called me a Racist, how can you call a blind woman a racist???? His employee was angry because I wanted to try and experience the other people there so I'm assuming she lied in the worse possible way and labeled me a racist. I take such serious offense to this accusation. I am even consulting a lawyer for slander and PI. After I I was informed of this, my eye pressure went up so high I had to go to UCDAVIS and am now scheduled for surgery. Apparently this massage tech was new and I'm just disgusted at the owner for allowing this to happen!!! He says he has 0 tolerance for anything. What about lies and bullying because he certainly judged me before he knew I was blind and can't see anyones face!!! I guess the customer is no longer a priority. Hopefully they got rid of this malicious woman. Again, how can I be racist when I'm blind??? Perhaps they are RACIST against the blind and disabled? The place isn't very disabled friendly. read more

It's hard to beat taking the time to give yourself a float and a massage at this business. I love the friendly, helpful and mellow staff. The business is clean and feels really peaceful and nurturing. Floats: all the float chambers are comfortable - but I'm short. My husband who is slightly claustrophobic has done well in all of them because you can feel the cool ventilation and helps to avoid feeling stuffy. He prefers the larger tanks. Massage: I certainly would recommend Lisa, Candice and Melody if you are interested in a massage that is good for your energy as well as your body. This is not a rant or a rave... This is just one licensed doctor's (myself) honest opinion of "Healing One" Absolutely 5 stars! When you walk through the door you feel like you're home. There is no "waiting area" just the chill zone where I'm sitting now drinking some amazing free organic tea. My belongings seem to have exploded from my man bag (it's not a purse! I swear!!) and I feel comfortable sprawling out on the antique couch for hours after my float. I already consider Chaz a true friend: and it's only my second float. My first float was out of curiosity. This float may have saved my life. A wise therapist and coach once said "do you believe you can make yourself sick with your mind? Than it must also be true that you can heal yourself with your mind. Right?" Well as a Doctor Who suffers from ulcerative colitis this could not be more true for me. I drove straight from an emergency room in Las Vegas to healing one. Basically to chill out and stop stressing so much all the time. This is extremely important for me personally as my mental stress expresses itself physically as inflammation. You could search the entire world for a real Doctor who can heal you when in the end... I don't have a lot of experience with this sort of thing, but I went here on a whim, primarily because I was interested in oxygen "therapy." I decided to try a 60-minute sensory deprivation float. Both of these services were delivered in a friendly, helpful manner. However, my experience wasn't exactly life-changing. You float on your back in a dark chamber. I'm not sure what the theory is, but even though I tried some meditative techniques that I'm familiar with, I never felt like I was doing anything other than what I was doing. So after 60 minutes, I was relaxed, but not in any kind of advanced state of being. Maybe my expectations were too high? The other thing is: be sure to use the vinegar they offer on your ears. I failed to, and my ears have been plagued with blockage ever since. (Finally back to normal, however, so it's just a passing thing.) I think the oxygen for $10 is a good deal, if you go for that. It energizes me for several hours, and I've paid more for less! read more

I booked 60 minute massage and floats for my boyfriend and I for Valentine's day. I had a couple people reccomend this place, raving about the floats. This place is very laid back and comfortable, I think I could just hang out and drink the wonderful tea all day. We were there three total hours, but it certainly didnt feel that way. The massages were good, and the ladies who did them super sweet (I wish I could remember their names!) I consider myself a very laid back individual, so I just knew the float would be life changing for me...I just couldn't get in to it though. This is definitely not due to the facility, the float chamber was spacious, warm and inviting...but I couldn't get out of my head. I will definitely be trying this a few more times to see if I cant find my zen, lol! My boyfriend, who is high energy, go go go type personality did get in to it, I really thought it would be the other way around! Overall it was a wonderful experience, I was too relaxed to realize I had forgotten to do the vinegar wash in my right ear, which will cause some minor discomfort the following days, but that was easily resolved by mixing my own vinegar solution at home. Went to Healing One today to experience what a sensory deprivation soak was really like. Attend an Open house they had and took a tour and booked a soak and got 50% during the open house. So for $35 i got to float in a tank room. 1,000 lbs of epsom salts was in my tank room. My experience isn't to discourage anyone from trying it . It was unique me. You take a shower first then go in tank naked. I got some salt water in my eyes several times during my float and that burn, so that was not fun. They give u a spray bottle to squirt in your eyes in case that happens. I felt like a frog during my soak, because all that salt water on your naked skin make u slimy and slick. The first fifteen min they play music than it go quiet. It get humid in the tank room, very humid! You can go completely dark or have the color lights on. I tried the dark but got claustrophobic... it was relaxing in the beginning and calming but overall not an experience I want to try again. Glad I did it though. After your soak is over u take another shower to rinsed salt water off. Then head to the chill lounge, drink tea, read , journal whatever u want to do!! That part was super dope. They have the biggest bean bag chair ive seen in my life their.They are having another Open House in August so check it out if your curious!! If you're looking for a review of the facilities: five stars, beautiful place! Very clean, quirky, professional, welcoming atmosphere! We came for a massage and float. The massages were also excellent. Perfect pressure, I loved the selection of oils, we discussed my needs ahead of time, it was all very comfortable. Now, this was my first float. If you're curious about trying it out...it's not for everyone...it was not for me. It was like a comedy of errors. I found it uncomfortable to be in an unsupported prone position, I have way more small scrapes than I originally realized (which I realized when they BURNED LIKE HELL!), the salt water was super itchy to my skin, I got super hot, super bored, and every time I managed to quiet my mind I would hallucinate hearing a baby crying (probably due to the fact that I have a six month old at home.) It just was not the activity for me... BUT! I would love to try the other facilities they have there! Because like I said, the place is really nice. read more

I chose the 90 minute option and time went by faster than I thought. The first float for me (because I didn't know what to expect) took some time to adjust, but it was amazing the second time and when it was over I remember thinking I wish I had more time. And I did the full 90 minutes. I love how my skin and hair feels after and any aches or sore muscles are alleviated in the float. The whole store is really clean and very calming. Love this place so much. I actually found this place by accident. I had an appointment at another place in the same parking lot but walked in this place instead. I still got my massage at the other place but it was different...... I decided to book an appointment at Healing One like a few weeks later and I absolutely love it. The staff are all nice and professional. It's very safe and calming environment which gives off great vibes. Just walking inside this place already makes me feel good. It's well worth the money. The therapist who worked on me and planning to see again is Alicia. Hopefully I got her name right. She's very professional and accommodating. My back and hips were so tight. Most likely I injured it at the gym. Not to mention I have slight scoliosis and I've been in a couple minor car accidents which didn't seem to help my back either and possibly some trauma. I went in for my first soak ever without any real expectations since I've never done anything like this before. Chaz was super friendly when I walked in and got me all cozy in the hang out space so I could fill out paperwork and watch the VERY informative pre-float video. They supply everything that you might need for your float (ear plugs, robe, towels, vinegar, vaseline...) the video explains it all. I was shown to my room which consisted of a small changing area with a large shower that contained the door to the float room. Exactly enough space to do what you need to do. The float room was the same size as the shower/changing space giving me ample room to float without touching anything. There is a bright blue/pink light that illuminates the whole space which you can turn off when ready and music plays for the first 10 minutes and then again when your time is up. The float itself was a little sureal. I've done meditation in the past and thought oh I will just quiet my mind. But seriously, in the face of nothingness my mind went bonkers for at least the first half of my time. When it finally calmed down I could feel/hear my own heartbeat and that was all. After I was finished floating I was a bit out of sorts and happily utilized the amazing relaxation lounge once more. They have an oxygen bar, tea, water, books, coloring books, a love sack... what more could you ask for? The space was very chill and inviting so I didn't feel rushed to take off before I was actually ready to deal with the world again. It wasn't necessarily a life altering experience but I did notice the beauty in the day more after I left and found that I had more patience with my 3 year old and her diva tantrums that evening. I also noticed that my skin was SUPER soft! I think that it is really hard to take the time to just sit with yourself and allow your mind to consciously relax and let go of things these days, so allowing myself to take 90 minutes to just exist without any distractions was a nice change of pace.
