So then the owner says " well you get dry massage" (which apparently meansI keep my clothes on). He points to his price board to an empty spot and says he is going to add it on the price board. So I ask him why he is charging me extra money to keep my clothes on? He says its because its difficult to do a massage with clothes on. 1 hour 15 minutes of my massage is use of lotion and bare skin massage. He also says oil is preferred, but then I point out that he now charges for oil for massages, so if i went the other route he'd charge me for that. Seems he wants to upcharge when and wherever he can. I DISPISE people who try to charge more than what's on the menu. I have the membership so it should be a flat $72.00 I tip $30-$40 to the masseuse. Its really disappointing I've been going to that place for years and I mean I've been going since it changed owners and names 3 times. This new owner wants to nickel and dime for things that should be included. :RECAP: I had a good rapport with the guy, but after the 3rd time of being charged an extra $10.00 everytime I had enough. He said it was for deep tissue, when I told him I didn't request it, he then said its a "dry massage". Been getting massages for 20 years I've never even heard of a dry massage. There was no wait to be serviced (I now know why). I was taken to a room with a pretty lame excuse for a massage table, and a horrible static noise. The massage itself was probably 20 minutes long and the other 40 consisted of my masseuse leaving the room or leaving a hot towel on my back. When she did actually use her hands I could not express what I needed as there was a heavy language barrier between us. When it was over she charged me for the massage and became very frustrated when I did not leave a tip.( I instinctively always leave a 15%, but welcome to America, where consumers can tip when they feel it is appropriate) She would not give me my card or customer copy back, and she went to get someone else, an older lady. After expressing multiple times that I want to leave the older lady put a pen in my hand and insisted that I leave a tip to get my card. I then leave a $1 tip because there's no way I'd give them any more after being extorted, I just want to leave this very uncomfortable situation. She then says I need to leave $5 and I respond with maybe next time this is all I can do for now. Then I straight up get yelled at by the older lady, "You have money! Give!" and "You only one! Everybody else give!" It wasn't until i took out my phone and showed her the 3 numbers on my keypad, that I finally got my card handed back. As I left I was getting cursed out the whole time. The room lights were dim, so I was easily relaxed. The flooring was very dated, you could see where the slats didn't touch, etc. The same woman who greeted me was the one who provided my service. She offered me varying pillows to be comfortable. She addressed all main areas, though I will say she was very heavy with elbow use and concentrated a lot on my shoulders. Perhaps I had knots, but it wasn't explained nor was I asked about areas of my concern. The hot stones were def hot, almost startling at first touch, but after the initial shock went away it really melted my sore muscles. The only thing I really didn't care for is that she left the room door fully open during the hot stone use. Despite some shortcomings, I think I will visit at least one or two more times to determine if my opinion may change.
